Mine in decreasing order of annoyance:
Decreased 3G/4G/WiFi reception comparing to previous phone (EVO 4G).
Touchwiz:
Full charge sound.
Contacts not prioritizing contact pictures from FB/Twitter/Skype over Google.
Dialpad is convoluted (too many steps to make a call) and fugly.
Lockscreen. Ewww.
Bottom touch buttons backlight shuts off 2-3 seconds after screen is touched (should be longer).
Power button on side of phone.
You know you can change the background on your lockscreen in settings. Still not the best lockscreen available but there are plenty of options in the market. you can change the duration of the backlight for the bottom buttons in display settings under "touch key light duration".

Can't help you with most. But in settings/ display you can adjust the display timing for what Samsung refers to as Touch Keys.

"1. Decreased 3G/4G/WiFi reception comparing to previous phone (EVO 4G)."
Can this be fixed with updates? I really hope so, that is my only issue with the phone currently.
Mine in decreasing order of annoyance:
Decreased 3G/4G/WiFi reception comparing to previous phone (MoPho).
LED is blue or red, thats it (tried diferent options incl. apk's... all to no avail).
No landscape mode for TW
Speaker full volume / clarity at said full volume is good, but speaker does strain infrequently and is not as loud as MoPho's (barely but still noticeable)
Wow, thanks for the bottom key tweak. Overlooked that one.
My complaint about the lockscreen is the plainess and lack of features it possesses. Sense simply blows TW away at the moment.
Yeah, Sense is plenty better, but TW isn't that bad, other than the lock screen.....and the way they have it set up to select your widgets.....but it's okay.
DITTO tho on the data, that's a biggie. I'm returning mine because of this. I need data, I use it more than the phone, lol
1. The vibration when I received a text was insanely too long, but I can't figure out how to adjust the pattern.
2. 4G keeps going to sleep while I'm streaming music with the display off, and I have to wake the phone to get the music to start streaming again.
Nothing else is really bothering me right now. Except I'd like a better lock screen.

I suppose if you like 1gb+ roms, sure.
Touchwiz is incredibly easy to theme. I'm sure there will be an 8 lockscreen mod port soon.

Lack of airplane mode in the shade pull-down. My office has zero reception, so need to rely on Google voice during office hours.
Will probably use anycut to put an airplane-mode shortcut on the homescreen.
Biggest ones for me right now concern the dialer:
- No instant-call button on the dialer's Favorites or Contacts tabs - you have to tap the name, then call on the second screen. On stock Android it has a phone icon right there at the right side of each name's field. No clue why they'd go and remove that, it's extremely useful.
- No way to turn off the huge photos next to people's names - I always turned those off on stock to make it just a list of names with the phone icon on the right - it showed a lot more names per screen that way. Again, no idea why a feature like that gets removed.

If you swipe your finger right to left over their name it calls them. If you swipe left to right it brings you into messaging. I actually like it more than the stock call buttons. Keeps the contacts menu more clean imo.
First. I am rooted so there is a possibility it is the rooted Kernel that is doing this... but maybe not as it is radio related.
Twice today lost signal on the golf course (and in addition to phone signal lost data so my GPS Golf App wasn't usable when I needed it for distance to the green)... but couldn't get the phone to trigger signal back on even if I put the phone in Airplane Mode (both times) and back out. Also tried turning roaming off and on.
Both times I HAD to turn the phone completely off and then back on. When it came back on I had 4 bars (but had previously been unable to connect).
Not good...
When I was playing with the phone @ the sprint store I noticed that airplane mode option pop up if i hit the power switch while in phone mode.

No biggie, as I'm sure all that try will find out, but he means your "other left" and "other right" (as my father used to say as I was growing up), i.e. the swipe directions described are actually the opposite directions.
Cheers!

AWESOME, thanks. Don't know how I forgot that!
When I'm texting with Swype, the language switches to Espanol all the time because the language button is right next to the comma button.
It's really annoying, any way to turn it off?
I can't for the life of me figure out how to keep the screen from turning off while the phone is plugged in. Its usually under settings>applications> development> keep screen on while charging..

I've just upgraded to a Desire coming from a Touch HD (Dutty Holy Grail) and have to say that first impressions are not great. Seriously thinking about returning it but interested to hear other people's experience.
So far moaning about the following problems - well more inconveniences:
- keyboard too jumpy
- can't call contact directly from email
- no hardware button to end call - pain when leave a voice message as need to turn phone on, unlock it and then end call.
- double syncs everything (on exchange server) so that appointment entries appear twice in calendar
- the home screen apps are kind of useless as you basically need to launch the full app to be able to do anything (ie email or sms)
- sms messaging doesn't tell you how many letters you have left
- no messaging in facebook
- headphone volume quiet (and that's with in ear headphones where on my HD I had the volume set to 1!)
- battery life atrocious in comparison. charged my phone last night and had a full charge before going to bed and when I woke up it was at 30%. no wifi or bluetooth on.
Will persevere another few days to make sure that I'm not just a grumpy old fart who hates change....
Take it back then. And my sms shows how many letter i have left.
I'll answer some of your points because a few are valid.
Could you elaborate on calling from emails? You mean the phone picking up that you have a number stored for a contact and allowing you to dial them? I've tried this and it works. You need to be using the HTC mail client, not the Gmail one.
"no hardware button to end call - pain when leave a voice message as need to turn phone on, unlock it and then end call."
I couldn't reproduce this use case at all. Your screen locks while you're in a call? A SHORT call too? Or are you just positing a use case you THINK could happen? The screen goes blank when you raise it to your ear and turns back on when you take it away...what you describe can't happen.
If you've got double syncing then there's a configuration error. Elaborate. How did you set it up? Are you syncing with your work email or a webmail account?
The home screen "apps" are not apps, they're widgets, and function like every other widget I've ever seen, they just give info and limited functions. You wanted to send email FROM a widget?!
"sms messaging doesn't tell you how many letters you have left"
Mostly because text limits have all but disappeared. Does your provider still cap you? You should get a new provider.
Your device is still new...you need a few charging cycles to get the battery at full potential.
The other issues are pretty spot on...the keyboard I'm used to now though. Trust the predictive text.

1. I have never seen that feature before. Would definitely be handy.
2. That annoys me too, but I guess it's just a matter of getting used to it.
3. Use a replacement SMS app. Handcent is my favorite.
4. Blame Facebook for that. They won't allow it, even in their official app which is stupid.
5. Strange, I have the impression that the headphone volume is quite loud.
6. You might have an application running in the background which is draining the battery and keeping the phone awake. See related threads in this forum for more info.
keyboard - Like all keyboards, it takes time to get used to. Trust the autocomplete feature and you'll be surprised. Best soft keyboard I've ever used.
Yes, you can call directly from email. Just tap the sender and their contact card will open which includes the option to call them.
No hardware call buttons - It's an inconvenience but you knew they weren't there before you bought it.
Exchange sync issue - Maybe something with your settings? I have it synced with Google's Exchange server with no problems.
Widgets - Yes, I share your opinion on many of the widgets. You might as well just launch the main application. They are pretty to look at though...
SMS - Perhaps download a 3rd party SMS application?
Facebook - no comment. I don't use it.
Headphone volume - I read here that some carriers limit the max volume on their devices. Perhaps they did that to yours? My device's max volume is pretty deafening.
Battery life - If you read reviews, you'll know that battery life is not impressive. But do give it several charge cycles and sync your data as conservatively as possible. You might find the battery life to be acceptable.

OUCH! Headshot! Be gentle it;s a new device ...
... Ok moving on ...
Actually don't worry been beaten ...
Like I said, the keyboard issue is just that you will need time to get used to it.
If you have a contact saved with a number and email and they send you mail, you will see their picture in the corner...tap it. You will get a speech bubble type box pop up that has the option to phone them, send them a message (text or email) or go to their contact card. Make sure you've merged your contacts. It won't work if you have a separate contact card for their phone details and then another for their email.
Again...is SMS length an issue still for people? I've not thought about those arbitrary 140 character limits since my first Motorola Wings flip phone.
Compared to my HD2 the Desire's keyboard is a DREAM to use - HD2 was skitty as hell and all over the shop. Desire's never misses a key and can type a LOT quicker on it personally...
Never bothered to know number of characters left in an SMS, doesn't bother me
Battery life, with all sync options on default, is about 48hrs give or take an hour...
Double sync IS annoying but I don't sync with Google anymore so got rid of that...
Facebook app, don't care about messaging as my phone is to keep up-to-date, PC is to contact...
Not bothered about hardware key for end call, call ends when you press the BIG red button at the end of a call (don't need to unlock or anything first)
Headphones - don't use them as phone isn't a music player to me, it's a phone
1. Get used to it, you will be fine. I moved from HTC Kaiser with hardware keyboard and I found the HTC Desire virtual keyboard is very good and responsive.
2. No idea, but as several posts above, you actually can do it.
3. You should know this already before purchase.
4. No idea
5. Widget is nice, this is unique to Android. You dont have to use it if you dont like. Then put app shortcut in the home screen, typical winmo thingy.
6. Use other messaging client like Hancent
7. Blame Facebook Or use Nimbuzz / Fring!
8. Check your settings, my battery life is amazing, on moderate usage it could last more than 48 hours (this include several hours (2-3) a day browsing on WiFi and gaming).

i use Juice Defender (one of my settings is to disable Apn/Wifi from midnight till 8am, works well
Thanks for the comments. Proves I'm a grumpy old fart! lol
Some good replies which I will investigate further.
Aitese - your comment about the screen going black and then turning back on when you remove it from your ear... is there a light sensor setting? as mine stays black until i tap power button unless i am talking to an actual person (rather than machine) and they hang up first.
Syncing is being done with a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. But I think I may have just solved issue as it appears to sync both with my laptop and the server without realising they are showing the same appointments. Just too used to MS ActiveSync which works it out.
The keyboard is still bugging me - have tried to train it using the calibrate option but still seems off. That is the top row of keys that I push match up but when i go to the second last row it always hits the last row which being space and punctuation tends to terminate the word.
Anyhow will persevere. Appreciate everyone indulging a grumpy old codger...
great tip thanks - will look for that app.

If you hold the phone under a bright light you'll see the sensors in the top left corner of the black bezel. To test it, make a call and then move your thumb over the top left corner and then away again...the screen should turn off when your thumb gets near and turn back on shortly after you move away. Call your voicemail box or customer service
For sms use handcent its brill and it gives you letter count. For facebook i use babbler as it gives you notification for inbox.

BetterKeyboard plus the accompanying DarkGray theme is by far the best Android keyboard out there. HTC_IME (i.e. the HTC keyboard you're hating on) seems to be well thought of in the community but I personally hate it and think BetterKeyboard wipes the floor with it.
A few thoughts
- I just want to add a few thing giving that I also came from an HD. Compared to the HD which only had a light sensor, the Desire also comes with a proximity sensor that monitors if you have your ear close to the phone regardless of light (on the HD the screen only turned off if it was day and it could actually sense a difference in light).
If you make a call and put your phone to your ear it turns the screen off WITHOUT locking it, and when you want to terminate a call by taking it from your ear it will turn on again but not locked.
The phone locks itself only it you don't activate the proximity sensor (like when you are using a bluetooth headset and you don't take to phone to your ear). When that happenes the screen turns off after 15 seconds and yes, if you turn it on then it will be locked.
- Why do you want a hardware button for call and end? The capacitive screen with the combination of the proximity sensor makes them useless?
-Another thing i can chip in is related to the sms thing. The default SMS app shows you the number of characters left and the number of messages already typed when you are nearing the end of a message.
It shows that above the send button. If you have less the 10 characters available in that message it'll show 10/1 above the send button, and it will decrease and then turn into 145/2 saying that you have 145 characters left untill reaching 2 messages. After that it'll stay on and counting without dissapearing, until you send the message.
I find this to be a goog feature because it only warns me if i exceed one SMS.
I have used it for 2 days, and I am out of space installing apps on the HTC desire. WTF.. it can't use the 16 gig memory card to install apps and games?
There is no way I'm going to Win MO again.. but seriously.. WTF.

Yeah the keyboard issue is due to the resistive v capacitive screens. The resistive screens need a good push, the capacitive ones need a slight touch. You get used to it.
for facebook, a new version is downloadable which give access to your INBOX.. which is what i assume was meant?
Just wanting to see if anyone is experiencing...
1. If you go to the dialer (from the home screen) - my previously called contacts do not populate. Meaning when I go to use the "smart dial" (# pad to find contacts) nothing comes up. This is how I usually call people.. so its quite annoying.
Side note - I can get them to show up, if I tap a single number then hit the back button (not the back capacitive touch button) - the one thats in the dialer.
2.When using the power bar widget (the one that comes with it) every time I click to turn on the GPS I am prompted with a message telling me:
"Be selecting Standalone GPS services, you are enabling access.."
I was certainly not prompted every time with my original incredible. Furthermore, this prompt seems to disrupt the power widget causing the bar underneath to not light up (signifying its on), even though it is.
I have since switched to Power control Plus which fixed the bar not lighting up issue - but am still prompted every-time.
Are you using LauncherPro? I was experiencing the same issue when using the LauncherPro default Phone dock shortcut with the previous call history not showing. I just "re-routed" the phone shortcut to the phone app and all is well.
Hope that helps.

Any fix for this? Is it present in custom ROMs?
This is for random tricks that aren't widely known.
I'll start off...
Missing that search button key on the bottom from the SGSII? Have no fear, just press and hold the menu key, which acts like the search key
Annoyed of the home button lag? turn off double tap to activate S voice within that program and your home key will be much more responsive
Can anyone think of anything else?
Edit: Ironlood has put together a list of tips and tricks. Thanks!
1.Hold menu button for search menu - eyecon82
2.To get rid of home button lag open up S-Voice and navigate to settings and untick the launch with double tap home button -eyecon82
3.Lock screen app settings are listed under security in settings - kegacide
4.you can swipe the screen with the side of your hand to take a screenshot, or hold home and power-kegacide
5.Hold down physical button and you can close all open apps and go to the task manager - hawkeye2188
6.Buttons on the bottom of the lock screen and can be swiped and open that application - hawkeye2188
7.You can also swipe away individual apps after holding down the home button - NA 521"
8.first go to settings>language and input and turn on voice cmd for apps. I had it on early today and said cheese and the camera snapped a photo...pretty cool -s3xda (on a side note it seems as though the variants have different voice cues try snap, cheese, shutter, and go)
9.In settings > sound > device vibration, you can select a different pattern of vibrate, or just make your own by touching create! - Zoidpilot
10.In app drawer > widgets, Sammy added a widget to use flash as a flashlight, and a widget to turn the entire phone into negative colors.-Zoidpilot
11.You can set the brightness in the majority of stock apps (i.e. the browser) to be app specific, instead of just setting a brightness for the entire system. For example: set the brightness to auto in the system settings, then open the stock browser > brightness and colors, and set it to high. Now the system will have auto brightness, but it will always go to high/bright when you are in the browser! -Zoidpilot
12.If you go to Phone > Logs > call logs, you can long-press a number (like that telemarketer you always reject) and select "add to reject list" to have the phone automatically reject the call every time. You can also unblock the number in case you change your mind.-Zoidpilot
13.In the stock messaging app, you can go to settings, and on the top you will find options to change the background and bubble style of the messages.-Zoidpilot
14.Samsung's S-Voice can do complex mathematical equations for you, then show them in different answers. For example, open S-Voice, and ask "how many inches are in a mile?". Or "what's the square root of 543,636?". -Zoidpilot
15.In settings > security > lock screen options > shortcuts, you can change what shortcuts appear on your lockscreen, or take them out altogether.-Zoidpilot
16.On the headphones that came with your device, you will see a single button and the volume controls. One press of the single button will pause the music, two presses in quick succession will skip to the next track. -Zoidpilot
17.In settings > wallpaper > home & lockscreen, if you select a live wallpaper, it will show as your lock screen as well. It will deactivate the ripple effect though if you have it active.-Zoidpilot
18.You can also use pop-up play on streaming online videos as long as they're not YouTube videos, and as long as you use the stock video player to stream them.-Zoidpilot
19.Pictures come out better with the camera if you hold the camera button and let it focus before the shot, rather than just pressing it after touching the focus box.-Zoidpilot
20.The stock browser has "incognito mode" just like Google Chrome! You can access it by opening the browser, the touching the top right corner to see open windows, then touching the incognito icon. While you're incognito, no history/cookies/or form data will be saved.-Zoidpilot
21.While you are on a call, on the screen where the contact picture is displayed, there is a speaker icon in a bubble. Touch it to increase the call volume past the maximum setting. It works on speaker or on headset setting.-Zoidpilot
22.If you're not rooted, but want to get rid of those pesky bloatware apps, go to settings > application manager > all, and select the app. Within those settings you can clear the information the app has, then disable the app with the top right button. You may need to uninstall updates before it says disable app though... you can also go to the app drawer, hit menu, then select "hide apps" to hide the bloatware icons you've disabled. -Zoidpilot

Since I'm on my own my Wifi network, I just disabled access control, otherwise you have to approve every device.3) Start Windows Media Player. Make sure under Stream "Allow Remote Control" is checked. You should see your phone show up under "Other Libraries" in WMP. Mine shows up as [Mobile]SCH-135.4) Go into Gallery and select a picture. If connected properly, in the upper right hand corner there will be a new little icon with a monitor and some arrows. Touch this and it will allow you to select a playback device. 5) Now the picture should show up in a maximized screen in WMP. Sometimes it takes a good 10-20 seconds. Videos take much longer, but they work and what I got was the first frame, followed by a good 20 seconds of a "Processing" notification on the Galaxy S3. When I browsed from WMP to my phone videos, it buffered for a very long time, so this "processing" notification is the buffering taking place. I don't know why DLNA needs such a long time to buffer over a home Wifi network.6) Whenever you change folders you have to click the DLNA icon again and re-select your playback device. Not sure why this is, seems like a bug...Unfortunately I did a little research and there is no way to physically copy files to your computer through DLNA, you'll have to use other methods.Make sure you turn this stuff off when you connect to public Wifi .-sluzbenik
44.When viewing videos using the stock video player, you can lock the touchscreen by pressing the power button so that the video does not get interrupted by inadvertent touches. This is especially useful if you are using your phone to entertain your baby or toddler. Also works with mx player though haven't tried it with other players -limeaid

46. if you are in the apps drawer, and you pinch the screen, you will see all pages of your apps and can quickly choose the one you want.-moonfire711
47.Haven't noticed this being addressed but regarding S-Beam it appears that both phones are required to utilize the same app that is involved with the file being transferred. For example, I use "quickpic" as the default image viewer and when I used s-beam to test a pic transfer, the phones connected however my buddy's phone went to the play store and more specifically went to the "quickpic" downlad page. Obviously my buddy's phone required him to dl the app in order to finish the transfer. I then opened the same file via "gallery" and reinitiated the transfer. This time the phones connected and transferred the file without a hitch. -augustorm

I heard that the GSII has a swipe status bar to turn up brightness? Does this follow over to the GSIII? Could anyone confirm or deny?

Nope. It's not on the GSIII. This is something I miss from the GSII.
Lock screen app settings are listed under security in settings (took me a while to find this)
you can swipe the screen with the side of your hand to take a screenshot, or hold home and power

Even on the GS2, it was only present in GB
Once the ICS update rolled out, it was gone. It's not a GS2 vs GS3 issue. It's an ICS issue.

Agreed. This is the feature I miss most about my S2. You'd think they'd have SOMETHING with all the random gesture/bump/close on eye stick out tongue gesture combinations they have on this device to control the brightness.
Guys, let's please get back on topic. This isn't the annoyances thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1727052
Hold down physical button and you can close all open apps and go to the task manager.
Buttons on the bottom of the lock screen and can be swiped and open that application(I know obvious)

You can also swipe away individual apps after holding down the home button. An HTC rep at an AT&T store told me that one today. She was trying to show off the One X. Everything that phone could do, my Galaxy could do. It was great. She even told me how the One X was made of polycarbonate and that the Galaxy was made of plastic. She learned a lot today...
first go to settings>language and input and turn on voice cmd for apps. I had it on early today and said cheese and the camera snapped a photo...pretty cool

You need to have a good portion of the screen covered with your hand (instructions say use your palm) and just swipe it across in an even motion.
Also make sure the function is turned on in the motion settings!
Same thing here with the screenshot, I feel dumb as hell as I still can't get it to work.
Also , is anyone using the stock ICS keyboard? I hate the Samsung keyboard.

Hold ur hand out like your doing a karate chop and swipe across the screen from either direction, left or right. Its really simple

I actually really dig the stock keyboard since it has a row of numbers (my thumb keyboard doesn't have that!), but one thing that drives me absolutely nuts is how while I am typing away I some how knock something to go into "one-handed mode." It totally throws me off. I then go to settings and manually uncheck it, but is there a way to stop it forever? lol.
Bro, tell me about it. This absolutely drives me nuts. I find that it happens when I hold the UP arrow.
Let me know if you find a fix.
Same here...wtf...I dont understand and can never reproduce the issue
Theres to places in settings that I could find that may be causing this for you.
Settings -> One handed operation
Settings -> Language and input -> Samsung Keyboard settings
I have it off in both places and its never switched once for me.
I randomly had the same issue and couldn't figure out how I did it or how to undo it. Finally, I went to settings》one handed operation, and unchecked everything. PROBLEM SOLVED LOL!!!
THIS NOTE 2 IS SENT FROM A GALAXY WHERE SAMSUNG SPRINTS TO THE TOP, AND JELLY BEANS EAT APPLES!!!!

Both my settings have been set appropriately since day 1 (I dont like one-handed operation). Apparently, on the note 10.1, you can pinch the keyboard to change modes. Is this just a glitch in our phones because sometimes it does toggle the tiny keyboard on my note 2.
very random, super annoying...pleaseee samsung fix this issue, give us multi-touch, and pleasee autocorrect my damn messages already. those are my only 3 grievances. oh, and the slight delay with the home and/or power button when turning phone on and/or returning to home screen. am I asking for too much??
edit: fixed home button delay by disabling s-voice via double click... noticeably faster and well worth disabling
While it's not a real solution, the best option IMO is to switch keyboards entirely lol. I prefer the Gingerbread Keyboard and have been using it since my Epic 4G.

I'd be fine with switching the keyboard if I could get a number row like the stock one. I own both Thumb Keyboard and Swift keyboard and I don't see the option for either
Im so glad im not the only one this happens too I hate it but I love the keyboard with the full number row

I have unchecked everything like you mentioned. The kb still changes to one hand operation while typing.
I think to reproduce, you have to press t and v at the same time. To change it back to normal layout, press L and A simultaneously.
It does not work all the time tho.

Does anyone have a possible fix/explanation for this? It's really frustrating and would've switched to a different kb if it weren't for the number row

It has to do with the pinch shortcut to goto one handed mode.... you can do the reverse pinch to go back to two handed mode... but its hardbto do..
I guess its when two fingers hit at once and it thinks you are pinching...I hate it but can not find a.way to disable it..
Yes. Let me DITTO this. All settings turned off but it's the "pinch" gesture or whatever. SUPER ANNOYING.
Please, I need to be able to stop this completely.

I was suffering from the same issue and after reading all these posts I found that a simple pinch to zoom action on the keyboard area will quickly fix it but permanently disabling I don't know
works by pinch zooming
I can change back and forth between keyboards by pinch zooming in and out. Galaxy Note II on AT&T
Im pretty tired as well of this... you type away super fast, come too close, and BOOM the f***er shrinks... pisses me off. Try to un-pinch it 8x before it goes "oh, hey go big again..." If there were only a keyboard out there that looked stock but had the top row of numbers to switch to... I hate this feature and need it GONE!!
One Handed Keyboard
I was having a problem getting the one handed keyboard turned off. I just figured it out. Open up a text & bring up the keyboard now click on the setting icon that is next to the spacebar. Unclick the One-Handed Operation & it is done!:good:
I just learned I hate s10+ & android
S10+:
Uninstalled bixby using adb. Button still remains.
The orientation of volume keys and that damn bixby button that i had to create a samsung account to disable it. While powering the device i need to grab the other side with my fingers and squeeze which the volume keys are
Samsung phone app: on speaker screen sleeps after 10 or so seconds.
Found an option called smart stay. enabled that and found lift to wake option..
no way to disable face recognition to open up the screen to the lock screen. I end up hitting the power button to turn the screen on it gets turned on by seeing a face right after that I hit the button and it Powers off this is in a matter of seconds. can't break a habit of powering on the screen with the power button. And that's if the face recognition works. Sometimes it doesnt turn on. There is a way to disable this but face rec to unlock the phone has to be enabled, defeats the purpose.
Trying turn screen off, end up taking a screenshot.
Battery sucks.
When you grab the phone watching something horizontal, the palm covers the bottom speaker.

Android "10"
Autofill fighting each other, Android, google chrome and lastpass auto fill is a disaster.
i find myself double tapping on the screen, i see the button as an example get tapped & button gets like shaded as if pressed, gotta tap again.
The clipboard, select all moves from the original place and jumps to "more" for more clipboard options.
the cursor upside down gps logo drag is stupid, draws up a magnifying glass, very irritating.
voice to text is just bad.
Some times highlight something, the clipboard does not popup, gotta grab the page n scroll it, clipboard pops up.
Google suggestions & auto correction sucks.
Battery sucks.
No screen protector, holding down on a field to paste, gotta hold field 2 or three times for paste clipboard pops up.

Android Poops allover Crapple. So much more you can do with Open Source. Customisation and apps designed to do specific things that the IPhone can only dream of.
Id rather have a phone i can personalize rather than be held hostage by Apple and limited software .

I have been Android user since the beginning and have a 2nd device which has been an iPhone for 4 years.
Android is superior to iOS in many many ways. The thing is, for the average Joe, the person who will use Verizon's Message+ app just because it was installed, for this user iOS is a better option. Simply works and also simple... no carrier crap.
I know a lady, had the IPhone 6, but really liked the look of the S7 or S8 , cant remember which, she only had it for a month, but she is like theres too much stuff on this to understand, so she went back to iPhone, then decided the IPhone was boring and migrated back to the S9.
As for performance, my partner's friend has the latest iPhone and when they are on a call together in messenger her friend keeps dropping out, my partner has the Samsung A50 because she dosent like curved edges. There never seems to be issues with other people in messenger.
And i think most governments use iPhones because they can't be modified by the average person. And this is why apple sales get their quota, government organizations and Reporter's. Even Mr Trumpty prefers his Samsung over IPhone.
This thread is just weird. If there are multiple apps that handle the same call on Android then you are presented with a prompt by the OS to select a default app to handle that function and then going forward that app will be the one to answer the call when an action triggers that function so I don't understand how this user is getting multiple clipboard apps getting triggered by the clipboard function.

Only complain I have is that my 3-4 sot equates to 60-80% usage of the battery. I've cleared cache, put most apps to sleep, no gos, no wifi (at work no wifi) no media except Spotify to and from work (1hr total) no nothing autosync.

There is an option in settings > biometrics and securtity> face id > "stay in lock screen" after the phone is unlocked by face-unlock.
You just toggle that switch on.
If you toggle this on, next time you press the power button, the phone will get into the lock screen, it will unlock (if it reads your face), but it will stay in lock screen (so as you can read your notifications etc.). You will have to scroll up to get into the home screen.
I suppose that's what you want to do, correct?

You want to press the power button and not get into home screen, but stay in Lock screen, correct?
If you don't enable face id, it will not unlock and take you to home screen directly. It will stay in lock screen till you unlock it either by the fp scanner or the pin etc.
If you want to have face id enabled, but not get into home screen directly, you toggle the switch I told you in my previous post.
So what is it that you want to do?
