Depends... How much is your monthly plan? If you're plan is expensive enough to qualify as Premier Gold, then you can upgrade this October. If not, you're waiting until next year.
I'm on a family plan the 1500 one.. its 129.99 a month. I just checked at wirefly.com and it say I'm eligible on Aug. 1 2012 ...

is the GS coming to sprint?
Sent from my SGH-T989
Wait...I wouldn't invest in anything 4G right now even thought the E4GT is a beast. I would rather have something that will get me on Sprints newest network that is LTE!
I do not know why anyone would buy a 4G phone right now or even sign up with Sprint at this time. The only way I would is if Sprint allowed anyone in doing so a 2 year upgrade price to an LTE phone when released and I do not see them doing that.

Not sure if you are serious or not but if you are the GN has been announced as Sprints first LTE device. No date announced yet but should be 1st half of 2012.

I dont now, but if sprint does in fact get rid of wimax, and our phones are no longer capable of 4g, then they have to drop the premium data add-on, and that would be a change in contract, then they would have to allow you to terminate contract free of charge, then sign up again and get the nexus, or other lte phone for upgrade price....but I would be willing to bet that you could get an upgrade discount before you would have to terminate.

Sprint will support Wimax until end of 2013. Data fee has nothing to do with 4g though, 3g only phones also pay the $10 fee.

Well, it still does not look very promising for LS: http://www.pcworld.com/article/249082/sprint_gives_lightsquared_six_more_weeks_for_fcc_approval.html
There is another article that indicates that Sprint basically 'forgave' LS deadlines, likely because LS's issue is more relevant to the FCC than to LS itself. Until they get the approval they need from the FCC there won't be LTE for sprint users.
Screw the GNex. I love the phone, but, I'm an absurdist at heart....I'm going to wait for the Galaxy Note. I love my ET4G, but, I'd love it to be absurdly large and perhaps a little faster.
4G? Who cares, I barely find a signal now and even if it was LTE I'd barely get a signal for another year or two...
Get what you want, write off Sprint 4G for another year or two...unless you are in one of their pet markets and it means that much to you.

Not sure what that really means, still sounds like Sprint will roll out their 4G? Can anyone break it down...
Wait for the nexus, I wish I had. Dev for this phone is pretty much dead, and if you want the latest stuff, might as well get it straight from Google. /Flamesuit engaged.

I'm pretty sure this is incorrect. As far as I know, the only 3g phone that pays the $10 fee is the iPhone.

You are wrong. It's a "premium data fee" that is applied to smartphones regardless of whether they're 4G or not.

Interesting... I didn't know that. My mom has the LG Optimus and my sister has the Samsung Transform and neither of them have the $10 fee. Are those phones not considered smart phones then?
They're included, my brother has the optimus and we had to add the premium data to our account. If they had their phones activated before they did it for all smart phones they will be an exception to the fee.

With all the new Android devices coming to Sprint, will you be making the switch to one of them?
Samsung Galaxy Nexus - April 15?
HTC EVO 4G LTE - May-June?
Samsung Galaxy Note - 2nd Quarter?
Leave some feedback, I'm interested in if anyone would give up this awesome device we already have for one of the new ones!
I don't think so, I don't want a bigger screen size

Honestly, I may wait for the Note! I played with the AT&T version and was amazed!

Not confirmed but rumored and a visual on the Sprint website!
Look HERE
Going to see if I can get the Evo. I had the OG Evo before and I loved it.
None..not up for upgrade, there is not LTE here in Houston and I am pleased with this phone.
Thinking about the note, or evo
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-6
Definetely not the Nexus. Our phones have much better specs than the Nexus. That camera is horrible in quality.
I'd get the Note if it doesn't take too long to come out. Otherwise, I'd just wait for the SG3 in September.
im not gonna upgrade but if i were too then htc evo 4g lte no doubt. note is almost a year old and so is the nexus. evo brings in new tech
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium the note is the su snapdragon then no. Higher resolution with a not so powerful gpu =less performance on games and I play alot
Nope. I will consider the GSIII. If Sprint's variant tickles my nads then I'll sell my GSII and buy it. Otherwise, I'll be waiting for 2013's lineup.
until I get lte on my Area.... im fine with my wimax and won't go back to 3g that goes from 5kbps to 2 mbps.. .
I played with the Note at At$t and it was extremely laggy. Anyone else notice? I'll wait for the SG3...
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
ill prob wait for the S3 not a big fan a of having a monster phone in my back pocket and as for nexus and evo i dont have lte in my are so its pointless. still loving my s2.
Most likely waiting for the SG3 as well, but will honestly just have to wait and see. If the SG3 really isn't being released until September then it's likely I'll pick up another phone in the interim just for the newness. But I love my E4GT so it's going to take a LOT to sway me.
First off i want to thank god that i am a sprint employee i will prolly go with the note and then the GSIII
When Sprint kicks me off their network for the constant 3g Data roaming (ever since I moved 6 months ago) I'll be getting either Galaxy Note or Galaxy Nexus on AT&T.
(AT&T makes more sense in my situation because all my family and my wife's family are on AT&T as well).

Unlimited talk, text, web, email and 411. Nationwide coverage on the Nationwide Sprint® Network. And no contracts. It’s the best of all worlds. With shrinking payments you can reduce your monthly payment to as low as $40/month.

love the galaxy 3 getting 2 to 3mbps download on boostmobile 50 dollar unlimited... i can get any android phone from sprint to run on boostmovile or verizon prepaid or metro pcs(NOT REMOMENDED TO METRO
if most of you live in a city and dont travel alot u should get it
4g is not bad i been getting 4 to 8 mbs
HD touchscreen? Talk about false advertising..

Yeah I think its a good deal. We have a discount and still pay $150 a month for two 4g android phones. Once the wifes contract expires it may be worth it to cancel mine and flash my e4gt to boost.
Just a heads up. I saw this comes with ics and only a 1500mah correct me if I am wrong but I believe our sprint version comes with 1800mah plus with all the battery issue's a lot of people running ics are having this phone might get horrible battery life. Just food for thought

If you sign up for a new 2 year contract on a Value Plan, then they'll give you $50 MasterCard.
Just FYI for those of you on another carrier and want a Note II on T-Mobile.
Don't mean to hijack the topic, but do you guys think waiting another month for Black Friday will have even more awesome deals from T-Mobile? $50 back is better than nothing.

Possibly, I mean if u wait a month after the release of a phone you'll get a better deal, but the plans themselves dont really vary much and promotions come once in a while. And no worries about thread hijacking not even sure if my thread qualifies for this thread
