Looks pretty friggen good. This is just part of the news with the announcement of the final tools being available.
They took an interesting route with YouTube. You use the browser to find the video and then it pops up a YouTube plugin/app automatically that plays the video.
You can see the other ones in action here (scroll down a bit).
It looks ok.
Don't see what's so interesting about youtube, I thought every OS except WM did that?

There really isn't anything interesting other than it's there. People were questioning it and saying it wouldn't come because it hadn't been shown off yet. It was one of the knocks on WP7 in the reviews of the preview/dev release.

I do too but it doesn't launch when I tap a video on a web page, I have to launch it separately and enter something to view it. In web pages I just have built-in Flash videos, which are very awkward to control. I very much prever external viewing.

True this would probably be alot more efficient.
Btw, I read somewhere in an RSS feed I can't easily locate that it's not a YouTube app, the browser simply launches videos in the video player. Using iPhone now I totally don't get what the fuss is about flash support as ios handles most videos on the web, not just YouTube. Maybe if I played flash games I would miss something.

I meant the clicking on a video in your browser part.
When I click a link mine asks:
Browser
Youtube
Skyfire
And
Would you like to set a default?
What about videos that aren't from YouTube?
Then youtube doesn't show up in the list.
And you have to watch the video in the browser?
Nope, I can chose how I would like to view it.

On my WM 6.5.3 I tap a video on m.youtube and it launches the native device player.

Which, excluding the YouTube application means the browser and skyfire (another browser).

Yes, I know about m.youtube. It doesn't have all videos though.

No, skyfire has a video player.
Just curious about which apps everyone is using on their TP2/Tilt 2 and how often do you use those apps?
Main application is SXRadio2 to listen to Sirius, works great!
Opera.
Nothing else really.
BeyondPod for audio/video podcasts (No Espn Radio app yet)
Treesizze free mobile (disk space allocation)
Fring (IM)
Google Maps
AP MObile News App
Facebook
I used to use a ton of others but recently the Tilt2 with seems to struggle with this new HTC messaging overlay and is slow potatoes. Just me?
I use lots
Clean RAM, S2P, Bing, Google Maps, DynaInk, Sprint Football, Chess Genius, Light Saber, Doppler Radar, Deluxe Moon, Amazon it, Stopwatch, APOD, Daily News, IMBD Mobile, Animation creator, Batt line sync, Registry Editor, and a few more, but I forget. There's just so many.
Edit (oh the Overclock app! Thats a great one!)

you need OCT(overclock tool) I was having a case of the slows after implementing HDWALLs and she's running rock solid stable dynamically overclocked from 115mhz to 652mhz and it even increased my battery life.
after seing how opera 10 automatically brings you go the mobile youtube site when you click on a link from a text or email, i realized opera 9.5 does not do this. and when someone sends me a youtube link, or i click a youtube link elsewear, opera 9.5 always goes to the regular youtube page which obviously is no good since we dont have flash.
is there anyway to make my opera 9.5 always go to the M version of youtube like op10 does by default when clicking youtube links?
You could install Opera 9.7. Search for a cab for it. It's what I use, and it defaults to YouTube mobile.
oh i didnt even know 9.7 exists.
does it support the zoom bar?
ill try that
Yes, it does support the zoom bar. Opera 10 does not. 9.7 was the final version to allow scalable zooming. Get it at this thread.
wow awesome.. thanks so much.. doing it now
When I open this link in my browser it doesn't play a video:
/v/fa2_TWLREtU&autoplay=1 (add youtube.com before /)
but whenever I change it to:
/watch?v=fa2_TWLREtU (add youtube.com before /)
it plays just fine, only problem is FriendStream uses the first format.
Is this normal? Or does the browser doesn't support SWF's or something?
when i try to open youtube stuff, it will open the video with the built-in youtube app. maybe you set some app as a default youtube app - did you check the "set to default settings" within applications preferences (dont know the correct english terms)?
Youtube app doesn't play some videos it says not available in mobile but if u play it in the browser it works
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I mean when playing them in the BROWSER, the first link doesn't work the second one does. Why is that?
This doesn't concern the youtube app, but the flash player in the browser
I like to use the "Watch Later" feature that Youtube has, but since I updated to JB and Flash was replaced for HTML5 in Chrome, there's a new (and simpler, VERY simpler) youtube design for their embedded videos. I can only advance forward, back, pause, and fullscreen. The watch now icon no longer is there. I also can't seem to click on the title of the video which would usually open the video again but on youtube's site.
Anyone else notice these issues also?
