Did you intend to say hulu? But you didn't catch your keyboard auto correcting ya to July?
If hulu is what you're referring to, then you don't want the most updated flash player. I havent used hulu in a while, so I'm not sure if it's changed...but when I did use it on Myn's, the hulu download that he provided came with a hacked version of the flash player. The hulu app needed that version to work. All I needed to do was flash Myn's hulu zip, and it would install the hulu .apk and the hacked flashplayer that it needed to work. Then when I started hulu, it would come up to a while screen with an hour glass. I'd have to tap the hour glass, then it would go white for a minute or two, and then it would start playing. It took a minute for things to start playing, but it'd work pretty good if i had a good connection.
Ah, hulu would make sense...lol

Wtf HTC, hulu should be in the dictionary. Thanks correcting me, ill fix that tomorrow on the computer. I did flash myns hulu app, but it stayed white for probably a half hour before I gave up.

hmm. Are you sure that flash didn't auto update itself? Mine did that before, the little box was checked to allow it to auto update, and I had to go to manage applications and hit 'unintall updates', and then it worked. I'm not sure though, this was months ago when hulu was first available for the Evo. Maybe things have changed since then, and the methods are different. I just know that before, you needed the hacked version of flash, to trick the hulu app into thinking it was playing on Windows. Maybe do a search for that hacked flash player? I'll take a look for ya when i can.
Use Titanium to Wipe data for the Flash you installed, then use it to uninstall (maybe back it up first).
Then install this flash and the Hulu apk (attached) from your sd card.
If flash isn't uninstalling properly (you will know b/c attached Flash won't install), might have to reinstall from the market and erase it a couple times to get it to fully uninstall.
^Will this work on CM7?
Not sure if this is the same flash file, but it coupled with the hulu apk you posted right above me works flawlessly.

not sure about the apk, but i use that edited flash for every GB rom, then change the browser setttings using the about:debug go /settings/ua string/ desktop
I THINK it works on CM7, although I don't actually use Hulu on my phone anymore. I might try to set it up later since I am on CM7 though.
Alright, Im a bit of a noob, and I don't know how to wipe data and uninstall in titanium

White screen like on boot? or when you try to use Hulu?
Is anybody getting this on FI03? It slows down my phone and won't go away till I reboot! Also I did do some searches and read a few topics about it on different devices. Seem to be common on ics roms. Some people suggest using supersu instead. Any feed back on supersu and if it has the same issue? Just trying to find out before making the switch.

I already updated the binaries just was waiting on some feedback before installing supersu. Going to go ahead and do it now. Hopefully it does the trick. I've already hard reset my phone twice and same problem.
Update: Just want to say getting rid of superuser and installing supersu fixed the problem. I guess after many years of running superuser it's time for me to retire it. I actually like the look of supersu better. Anyways just in case someone else has the issue in the future that's the fix.

OK so I have been trying to DL and set up custom lock screens, but for some odd reason I am having a brain fart and can't get them working. I have tried Zipthemer and also CWR and neither seems to work on my GS3. I am also trying to find some cool themes and get them working, but always get errors.
The errors for the lock screens through Zipthemer says "can't find the control file".
Through CWR it just doesn't work.
With the themes they just say that they are missing assets. Mainly for the screen resolution. Apparently I'm great with CPUs, but I feel like a COMPLETE NOOB when it comes to android molding.
PLEASE HELP the noob!!!!!

First thing you need to answer is if you are rooted or not..... if not I am not sure you can apply themes. If you are rooted, then you should state which rom you are using. I am going to take a wild guess and say you are on stock rom not rooted.... Not sure what CWR is, but if the app says requires root then it won't work on a non rooted phone.... Since you are new to the scene, rooting your phone will void the warrenty incase you are thinking of going that route.....
Some launchers can be themed but you need to say which one you are using also.....
Yes I am rooted. I'm using CM 10.1.0 RC2 on an AT&t GS3. And sorry CWR was suppose to be Clockworkmod recovery. CWM.

Can I ask why not? I get not wanting to go as far as custom roms, but with adblockers and access to the system and data partitions, you can do quite a bit without having to go for a full rom.
Well I'm just comfortable with touchwiz and honestly the last phone I had I thought I knew what doing and bricked. So I lost the courage just getting into all this so I'm a newbie...
:'( but I see all the customizations and would love to have them so I just wanted to take the easy way out and get some apks that would work with my stock...

Best way to customize your unrooted phone is probaly thru your launcher of choice... there are some that can be customized more than others, basically what your looking for is different themes/icons which you can find for free or buy in the play store.

Have to agree with lickarock. There's still quite a lot you can do without going all out like full ROMs. If you simply root your phone and load SuperSU (SuperUser), you can load something like ES File Explorer and do simple installs of apk files through there. You really don't have to worry about bricking your phone in that situation.
While I do load different roms on my N2, like you, I just wanted to get blacked out apps also. I'm running blacked out Gmail and Facebook currently, which I loaded through ESFE. Just make sure you uninstall the original apps then install the apks through ESFE and reboot. Everythings running smooth on my phone.
I've had a few scares loading different ROMs where my phone wouldn't boot up and I thought I maybe bricked my phone.......luckily I got it back up and running. Battery pulls suck.......lol
Just be sure to read through all the posts that you find which interest you. Typically, people post issues they are having and possible fixes. If you want to run different roms or something later, just be sure your phone is running the correct specs for it, ie....your baseband version is MA7 vs MC2, not all roms are compatible with multiple versions.
Okay I think I will go that route... ? Say I root it, and 4.2 finally makes its way ota will it still hit my phone or will I have to unrooted in order to get it?

You would have to either unroot, or wait for a dev to put out a stock rooted version as far as I know..

What spary said! You're really better off just waiting for one of the devs to roll the updates out.
Again....read the threads all the way through and if you still have questions, do a SEARCH and see if you can find your answers.......if you can't find after searches, don't be afraid to ask ?s.
GL!
If you want a brick-proof(ish) method to get a Root, just Odin a full rooted restore to your phone. Such as this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2241136. Its about as mindless and safe as you can get.

If you choose not to root, there are still several ways to have a highly customized phone.
Personally, I am a fan of rooting. I have rooted every android phone I have had except my Note 2. Long story short, I bought my Note 2 through my business and cannot afford to run into any headaches that can sometimes pop up even to the most experienced flasher. I will say the Note 2 is also the first android phone that I haven't felt the need to root for increased performance. CPU, RAM, Battery life, this phone has all three for days.
I created a thread dedicated to creating a custom look without root. And in many ways this is the most custom phone I've ever had.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2274378
It's a work in progress and I am adding more and more stuff all the time.

For a blacked out messaging app you might check out Go SMS Pro. There are downloadable themes and you can make your own.

I love using the Darkhorse inverted apps. I currently use them on my Note 3 and have no issues. I installed them on The Note 10.1 2014 (SM-P600) and every time it brakes wifi for some reason.
does anyone know of a way to solve this?
Anyone have a kernel to flash possibly? I believe on phones I've had in the past that was a work around. Wondering on tablet though.
To fix previously I had to reflash MK1 firmware then reflash TWRP and Re root but I lose the darkhorse apps. I currently haven't redone the steps and was wondering for some insight.
Thank you

i'm not too familiar with the dark horse apps, but are they for deodexed roms only?
I dunno, Gun said it shouldnt matter. the apps loaded. its Wifi that is at issue. i think i need to reflash kernel to correct.
wondering does anyone have the kernel, just not posted? how do you compile stock kernel? i have the source code, just clueless as to what to do. any type of instruction involved extracting the zImage, or something like that and replacing an existing stand alone kernel to flash but as of this post, i dont know of any stand alone kernels yet for the device.
thanks

compiling crap is way above what I know. if you made a nandroid I think you can reflash just the boot which I believe is the kernel. it's. been so long since I've ever restored that I can't. really be sure. I do make back ups for just in case but haven't restored.
is wifi just a specific router or all your routers? can you connect via tether to your phone?
what's the link for the apps? I may have some screwing around time this weekend and I see if I can find anything. hopefully you'll be fixed by then though, lol.
The wifi button won't turn on, to clarify it says it's turning on but can't deselect it or select. I can't see any routers. It is grayed out.

have you installed busybox from the market? i've used stericson's. it doesn't look like our root or recovery installs busybox.
also, do you know which specific darkhorse app kills wifi?
Not sure exacrly , i think it could be Google play store 4.4.22. I flashed TBO zip of the same version and no issues in the past.

Ended up re Odin mk1 then Odin twrp. Guess until I can find out why the app breaks wife or a work around I can't have the darkhorse apps on my note 10.1 2014 like I do on my note 3.
If anyone knows of a work around I'm all ears. I could get the apps to install it is the fact I need wife is the issue. I would think if we had the kernel alone to flash th a t may solve the issue, not sure.
