This is ridiculous lol, I thought I'd ask since I'm pretty sure swype is a system app and I can't delete any of the files associated with it. But it keeps switching to spanish on its own. Three times I switched it back to english and it's fine. Then eventually (while the phone is still on) it'll be in spanish.
Is this a bug with swype or is there some way to delete the spanish language pack without root?
There is a good chance that you are hitting this tiny little button. It switches the swype language between English and Spanish.

That functionality really should be user configurable.
Like, why do they have hot keys enabled for screen rotation by default in Windows? 99.99% of users never need it, but I get calls all the time that the screen is upside down.
it is just slide up on the language key and turn off Spanish as an available language
"Hey, where should we put this language toggle button?" "Hmmm .. let's squeeze it right between the SYM button that is used to get to numbers and the comma. People never use those two buttons."
*facepalm*

Inspired by the zoombar projects (link below), I thought that it could be possible to convert the hard button area of the touch HD to a more useful thing: a touch pad.
I think we have enough room for left-right and also up-down movement. Also a double click could be considered as pressing the Enter button.
I believe we have skilled enough developers who can make this dream a reality (like XaKing and namuk).

Although im no developer, i'd love to see this!
Although, would it only enable in certain applications? Because i want to answer a call when one comes in and not be zooming! lol
Also, if i get a call in camera mode, will it detect this and revert the buttons?
It all comes down to the limits of our imagination. Maybe we could have a blacklist/whitelist approach, where we could define the applications for which this touch pad should be enabled. This could be in some conf file or registry.
But we need the real thing first, these nice little touches could come later.

Hey guys Ive been searching everywhere for this I think the main reason I cant find what Im looking for is because I dont know what its called. Im looking for a keyboard apk that I can install on my epic, I want a keyboard that has T9 but I want the phone keyboard like the 1-9 buttons with three letters on each button. I have been searching for T9 keyboards but I am finding T9 qwerty keyboards and want just the regular phone keypad, anyone know where I can find one? I thought the evo had one but I am not sure.
-Edit
Also if I install a new keyboard it will not erase swype will it? Because I want to keep swype on here as well

that middle one is exactly what im looking for! any free keyboards like that out there? How long is the trial for that one?
Trial never goes out, but every so often it promts you to buy the full version. That's why its a "trial." Not that big of a deal IMO. This is the only free keyboard I've seen that can do t9.

ah ok i see, thank you!
Touch pal has that capability also and is completely free. When it comes up in the market look for a blue circle with a hand in it and the language will be chinese next to it. Just download and make it english only in setting. It will also make the physical keyboard better with word recommendations and what not. Hope that helps

Some users used to have problems with text forms (with touchscreen too), the touch keyboard didn't appear and it's very annoying to open osk or the touch panel manually
This tool is very tiny (<900KB) and run in background, only an icon in notification area will be show
This tool check a clicked/tapped textbox and opens the touch keyboard
This is the first version, so sometimes it might not function, biu I've tested with a lot of user, so iThink that it functions correctly
Sorry for bad english
Waiting for feedback!

Does not work on Acer W700, Windows 8 x64. Additional components are required?
As I writed before, this is the first version and sometimes the keyboard did't appear, butI don't know why and I'm trying to find a solution
This app don't require anything other as far I know...
Is this based on an autohotkey script?
Yes, and the script is based on a script that i found on ahk forum here: http://www.autohotkey.com/board/topic/89058-help-converting-autoit-script-to-ahk/ with some edits to make it smarter
This does not work... have tested on Dell Latitude 10 x86... icon appears in taskbar, but I click the address pane in internet explorer and nothing happens, still have to open keyboard manually.. Its a shame because that is something that really pisses me off about Windows 8 and I hate using metro mode all the time because apps only run full screen..
Just download the new Search APK (if you dont have the last one) and then install the second app to activate the Google Experience Launcher.

Is it supposed to allow it to display the "Say 'Ok Google'" in the top? Or did I miss something?
I know that it was thought to be a Nexus 5 only thing with the 800, but I notice in people's screenshots it at least displays it. Mine just shows a hollowed out mic icon.
EDIT: Nevermind, I updated my English pack in the Voice Typing and that actually brought it up.
Hey but this launcher made icons larger.. which looks.. erh bad

you need to set "hotword detection" on (only english US and i need to download the offline speech recognition to make it work)
Thank you ... But why the size for widget is not correct? And why the pixels for apps is big ? Not sharp as original launcher.
Hi all
I love to use Swype, however I don't care much for the keyboard layout.
On swype I need to switch back and forth between the numeric/character screen and the alpha keyboard screen because their keyboard does not have numbers on same screen. You have to go to second numeric page and then flip back over to start typing again.
This is always a pain when I am typing in my passwords or something similar.
I recently tried Swiftkey and I love their keyboard (numbers up on top and basic alpha below). I don't have to keep switching back and forth to get to type in numbers then alpha then numbers etc... BUT...their swipe type technology is not good.
Swype is more forgiving on how I type and usually gets the words right when I'm zooming all over the screen...but swiftkey gives me weird and mostly wrong words. I spend more time correcting the words.
So to summarize...I still want to use Swype...but want the swiftkey keyboard layout or something very similar.
Swype keyboard themes I tried...but they are all the same...just the fonts or coloring looks different. The layout is the same.
Please help!!!
Check out touchpal x.
I have used every keyboard since the Droid x days and nothing at this time beat touchpal.
no number row needed, just swipe UP off the top letter row for numbers,
special char you swipe down into the spacebar.
Hold hold spacebar for walkie-talkie like google voice input.
swipe spacebar up like a window shade for full emoji, etc.
word detection has been improved like 1000% on the last update
