The accessories suck for this phone, like 2 crappy cases available. maybe 3.
anyone find anything descent?
I agree, this phone is largely being ignored by that accessory makers in favor of the hotter, sexier phones. Still, I managed to find this case on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003NY7CVU . Very well made and fits the phone perfectly. I did a slight mod on mine and cut a small rectangle out of the side so I can charge the phone without having to take it out of its case. Otherwise, have only tried one screen protector, which turned out to be junk.
bandroidx, I think I have most of the cases available on the market. The Amzer rubber cases are inexpensive (9.95) on Amazon. They are grippy and secure on the phone. The Otterbox Commuter is nice also and available at Amazon. It is a two piece design with a hard plastic exterior that wraps around a rubber inner liner. I also got a Speckcase from AT&T when I first got the phone. The case was an early production and lacked a cutout in the rear for the speaker. This has since been remedied. I didnt care for it as much because it is so secure around the phone that it is hard to get in and out to access battery. Hope this helps.
I got a nice rubber form fitting case with all the cutouts and a wide selection of colors on Amazon for $1.25+$2.95 shipping, as far as a screen cover, I haven't needed one with the gorilla glass it features.
amazon.com search for Cbus wireless, they ship quick too!
The only case we have at ATT Cor stores are the *speck cases. They look great and fit well but they cover the speakerphone so if you rely SP your out of luck.
I use an invisible shield case on mine. Works great and has definitely helped protect my phone and makes it easier to wipe down.
I got an otter box and love it and they're only like thirty three at amazon which isn't much more than the spec. The defender.

i got the hard plastic cover case from ATT pretty suckish and i really dont use it at all, i only use the screen protector
It would be nice to see some sort of car dock for music/nav in the car. Im not a huge fan of cases because of the rubber-like outside already on the phone.
You tried googlin international online stores?
Otterbox
+1 for Otterbox, great case with good protection and fit
I just don't like how the proximity sensor is just open. Dust gets in like crazy.

given that its not high end phone its no surprise there few accessories are available at the moment.
i'd love an extended battery more than anything else. i'm a heavy user.
can anyone recommend a nice one? i'm not sure what to get.
I wiah we had better accessories
the used bravo i just got has a otter box commuter case on it, im really not imppressed with the fit, its big. on my friends evo 4g is big too.
so anyways im buying a couple of ebay rubber cases. if there are good, i will post the link and some pics when i get them
Having an idea to make my own car and home docks. Phone reacts to magnet around the usb port. Idea idea. Also I saw a dock at an AT&T store that looked like one for the bravo but one little detail, the usb would be backwards from our phone. Take it apart and just turn it around? Hmm.......
after 3 days ordered i got these cases, i got them from this seller http://myworld.ebay.com/shipmaster8/?_trksid=p4340.l2559

they are 5.75 for 2 free shipping, really good fit maybe just 1-2 mm off, doesnt effect anything, its real good for the price fast shipping. i wound say much better quality than the otter box commuter. beefier too, not very bulky
i also got these films, very good too

Here's some good accessories!
Of course everything is on eBay.
Desktop Charging Dock
Wall Dock + Extra BF5X Battery, Cheap! I would buy it just for the battery.
Search Results for the tons of cases now available + Screen protectors too. I really like the look of the Carbon Fiber case. Going on a shopping spree in February. Budgeted $800 for eBay stuff.
My box of Xperia Play didn't include a pouch so I must buy something to protect the phone.
I saw a cool plastic case: http://www.accessorygeeks.com/oem-t...-plastic-silicone-case-ag-xper-py-bk-blk.html and I thought it's good for me, but after a while I realised it turns the phone into a brick, something I don't really want to.
So then another option is to get a pouch, searched and found a few, but pretty expensive ($35 - $60). I just want something good, good looking and for a price of maximum $15.
Optional: An invisible screen protector which theoretical protects the screen for scratches.
I need some help here. What should I buy?
I don't know if you know this but, the Xperia Play comes with a preinstalled invisible screen protector. So you're half covered already.
I can't recommend you a case/pouch since I don't have one but I don't even want to know how bulky it'd be with one when it's on my pocket.
I got the official sony ericsson executive hardcase and i love it - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Ericsson-SMA7110-Executive-Xperia/dp/B004S5CP0Q
I don't really like the snap on case because I hate adding bulk to an already bulky phone and also I have the DK300 dock and it would require me to constantly take off the other cases.
I also bought the official pouch that came with the European models from here - http://www.netimes.com/shop/sony-ericsson-xperia-play-pouch-ca850-p-3255.html?cPath=70_808

Off-topic but how trustworthy is that site? I see they have a lot of accessories and ship worldwide, so far I've only used DealExtreme but they don't have many phone-specific stuff (except for the iphone).
Fast and efficient and supply tracked shipping.
I was amazed they had tracked shipping with signature approval for something that was just an envelope.

I bought my macbook sleeve/pouch from there a few years ago and it was awesome for keeping scratches off etc. Then When I got my play I measured up the iphone sizes for their iphone cases and on a whim just bought one to see if my would fit in it. was a bit tight at first but after a while it now fits as snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug! and it looks cool aswell, hardly adds any bulk and even if it does at least when I pull it out I don't look like I have a brick for a phone but just an awsome pouch/sleeve thing and i pop my phone out of. defo recomend.
So to make sure you guys are aware, if you're up for it, buy the iphone sized one, thats the one I got. They are designed to fit iphones but plays fit fine ;oP lol. They're Australian based but post all around the world, i got mine within a week in the UK.

I got the second one with my phone. I generally hate phone cases but this is nice since it's not making a brick out of phone and it's not taking away it's style. On the left is a cut-out so the headphones plug isn't covered, and it makes easier to take out the phone.
Pouch on first link is a bit ugly.
bought a cheapy gel case of Amazon and noticed there is not openings for the stereo speakers , I just looked at the case in post 1 and it has not speaker openings as well
This item, on ebay, has the speaker ports open, and is slimmer, and better than the Gel one I tried:
Search for that item number: 190527208284
I've got one of these, and it's well worth a few quid more.
Your case looks like the one i was going to order from Amazon for £2.99 , but is only £1.99
Thanks
John.

lol..It's a nice case, fits well, is slimmer than the crap one I had(prepaymania £2 gel case, and another from local phone shop, both identical to be honest), and I had given up on cases for it, as well, I thought most were the same(people even have issues with otterbox, etc..)
It's semi transparent, and it allows the sliding motion well, better than the other two I tried, i felt they were prising the phone apart, but this one isn't an issue.
well worth £1.99, IMO.
Cool stuff

Hey fellas,
Got my hands on affordable (but well made!) aluminum bumper style case for the Galaxy S3. This particular model came from Tmart but you can find similar ones on eBay, in all sorts of colors. It's a two piece case that fits nice and snug around your S3. It WILL bubble up some screenshields, which is unfortunate. All the ports and the cutouts are spot on, which is impressive for such an affordably priced case. Overall, while it doesn't offer a lot of protection, if you're looking for a bumper case - this is a good option!

Why keep throwing that word "affordable" out and not say what you paid for it? I have this very case since August ordering it straight from the manufacturer. I could find no dealer in the US. Plus, there were many knockoffs, especially on Ebay. Don't get me wrong, I love my TrioBump, I'm just annoyed at how so many post while leaving out details!
EDIT: Well, I watched the video and must apologize and complain even more! I should have watched it first (my bad) but I'd rather read the pertinent details in the post than watch a vid. I do not agree with your assessments. I think this case gives protection where it is needed most. I don't use any of those new fangled screen protectors that supposedly protect the display from impact damage. I think that's going to far. I do employ the Invisishield on front and back. It give a very snug fit with no bubbling. That said, I'm confident that I will not get any damage if my phone take a hit anywhere this bumper covers. My only concern would be having it hit a rock directly to the screen and in that case, I have insurance. I like the minimalist form factor plus the ease with which it can be taken on/off to change batteries. Plus, I can use it with my FlyGrip which is why I searched for just such a minimalist case. You slip in your two fingers and can use the phone with one hand without worrying about dropping. Plus, as you can see, it doubles as a stand. What has me newly annoyed is the price you quoted. I paid about 4o bucks from the manufacturer, Gimmick Five. I don't see how it could be sold for just 10 dollars.
EDIT: Just checked Gimmick Five's website, and they are still listed at 39.99 US. I'd like to know the story behind Tmart's TrioBumps.
Full disclosure: The guys over at Cruzerlite helped out Carbon when no one had heard of use by donating a few free cases so we could run some giveaways on our social networks. We went to them because we liked their product and the way that they interacted with the Android community. They were so excited about their new skin product that they arranged to ship a MotoX and one of their skins to me so that I might review it and give them, and you, my honest feedback. The device and skins have been since sent back to them. I was not paid or otherwise compensated for this review. Mostly I just wanted to check out a new product, have an excuse to play with a Moto X, and play with the lightbox I built last week.
I hate cases. To me, they've always been a necessary evil. I generally go with the thinnest TPU case I can find so I know my phone will be protected, and try and find one that actually looks cool. Which is why I've always liked the Cruzerlite cases. Very android friendly, and there were always lots of looks to choose from - android themes, art, etc. My favorite was the Tardis case. I was always very careful with my device. But scratches and things happen, and like many of you I never plan to stay with one device for more than a year or so. That means you gotta keep it looking like new so you can sell it later.
To me, that's the niche that the Cruzerlite skins occupy. If you drop your phone all the time this product isn't going to keep you from denting it or smashing the glass. It's vinyl, not TPU. If you're a purist who insist on rocking a totally naked phone, this product also isn't for you. If you're one of the many who hate cases but want to protect the phone in some way, or are confident in your ability to not drop your phone but want a custom look, then this product is where it's at. It'll protect your device from light damage, give you any look you want, and preserve the size and feel of your device.
The product comes in the form of thick vinyl stickers. As it's a brand new product they don't yet have a set of instructions on the site. They tell me they have that in the works and we should see them soon. With that in mind, I'll overshare my installation process and what I learned for you folks. Cruzerlite clearly wanted to make sure that you'd be happy with the installation of this product, so they've given you a single sticker for the back, two sets of stickers for the sides, and three sets for the front. You can screw this up and try again without ordering a new set. Note that I say stickers, but this is actually vinyl of a nice thickness, not some elmo sticker you'd get from the doctor after a checkup.
So having checked out both the vinyl and the Moto X I setup my lightbox and got down to business. I applied the back vinyl, taking great care to align the camera and microphone. It worked, after a fashion - it looked like a sticker slapped on a phone. A phone with a lot of curves. So far... meh. I stuck the sides on as well. It looked... like a bunch of stickers slapped on a phone. They didn't conform to the curves of the phone at all. So I called up Joel at Cruzerlite and told him that while I thought he had a nice idea, this was probable something that would only work on a phone with simple surfaces like an iphone. I showed him how it looked and he asked me when I was planning to finish the installation. Finish the installation? What? Heat. You apply heat after installation. Ohhhhhh. For a guy who was just told that his half-installed product wasn't very good, he was pretty cool about it. Thanks Joel.
Ok, so with that in mind, I dug out the hair dryer and got to heating. It looked a lot better. With a bit of heat and some pressure with my fingers, the vinyl conformed to the curves of the device and started to look like they belonged there. That said, because I installed them like they were stickers, there were gaps. Teal gaps. It didn't look great - but that was on me.
You might want to color match better than I did. Teal and
wood grain aren't known for being a classic combination.
So the first install didn't look so great. The vinyl was curved to match the phone, but I had ugly gaps that ruined the look. When I put the sides on, I aligned things like I would with regular stickers - not heat shrinking vinyl. But Cruzerlite clearly anticipated that, so I had more! Off came the vinyl on the sides and and back to square one. This time, I made sure there was some overlap so that when heat was applied, it would properly fit. Here's what it looked like:
You can already tell it's going to come out better this time. Out comes the hair dryer!
Now we're talking. No gaps, all the buttons are nicely cut out... it looks great. Again, the color combination shows why I'm not ever going to be a graphic designer, but it certainly highlights just how well the product fits the device. There's a slight edge where the vinyl on the sides and the back overlap. It's not unpleasant, but I'd like to play with this product some more to see if I could even avoid that. I've asked Cruzerlite to send me a few more and another phone, and hope to have a follow up on this in the future.
Yes, it has front stickers. The great thing about this product is it's up to you what you apply - if you don't want the front stickers, don't put them on. You could even mix and match them if you wanted. Get different colors and make the phone version of this:
Yes, that's a real thing. It's a Harlequin Golf and comes
that way from the factory. Please don't do this to your phone.
So after installing and playing with this, I like it. The vinyl is thick enough to feel like a high quality and durable product and on the whole I found it to be easier to apply than a screen protector. Sure, it's a bit tricky to align, but you don't have to worry about dust and the use of heat makes this a relatively forgiving product. I'm certain that I didn't do a perfect job with this, but I don't hate it the way you'd hate a screen protector with a bit of dust under it. I did manage to tweak the back a bit when applying it, and you can see the bulge from it. Again, this is something that I'd be able to differently now that I know how the product works so I'm not particularly concerned about it.
Cruzerlite has a whole range of vinyl to choose from too - 57 at the time of this review. There's wood grain, antibacterial colors, metallic, and leather skins. We're spoiled for choice and if you can't find something you like you might want to ask yourself why you're so picky.
I'd say this is a buy. They look great, feel great, and will do a fantastic job of protecting your phone from light damage. They're easy to apply, and at just under ten dollars you can't beat the price. For those of you who picked up a Moto X before Motomaker was a thing, this is a great way to change your phone's look without buying a new one, or get the look of wood without paying an extra hundred bucks for a single woodgrain option. (bamboo? seriously?) At the time of this review, the skins are available for the Moto X, Nexus 5, Note 3, Galaxy S4, and iPhone 5/5s.
I'll update this thread in the future if I can get my hands on another device and more vinyl. If possible I'll try something other than wood grain, too.
You can check out the rest of their skins at http://www.cruzerlite.com/skins
Wow that looks like a great quality skin! How do you keep the termites from eating away at your phone? lol
The quality for the Moto X one may be good but the quality for the Nexus 5 one is pretty bad from my experience.
The cut outs for the nexus lettering are bad and uneven and to thin and different sizes and the back skin was longer in some corners from others. I was pretty disappointed..
I'm getting a replacement from them soon but I don't expect any different because I sent a picture of the back to CL but they said that the manufacturer said they didn't think it was defective but it "got stretched somehow" I know I didn't stretch it and it didn't look stretched to me cause others people with the skin from them had the same looking cuts just not as bad as mine. But I'll see how the new one I get is.

Have you noticed lint getting stuck on the edges, or the corners peeling especially on the thin side strips?
THanks
There have been a few threads linking to the Shenit TPU Bumper Case that have kinda died out because, well, it's no longer available on Amazon despite having been available long ago with a very future ship date. I ordered mine when the listing first went up on Amazon and it just arrived today! Here are my observations and judgments:
The Details
The case is made from two materials: TPU and a hard plastic. You can see the two materials in the photos on Amazon. It's done in a way that is still incredibly low-profile. The TPU covers all buttons, corners/edges, and ports (not the camera lens nor camera light, though). The hard plastic covers the back, the back corners, and some of the sides. The hard plastic is a *perfect fit* over the camera lens ring - from the back of the phone it is 100% impossible to tell the color of my phone.
Something that can be very clearly seen in the photos, and is the same with the official bumper, are the angles at which the sides have. This causes the feeling that the back edges of the phone "stick out". This seems to be a love-it or hate-it thing for most people. I'm torn about whether I like it or not - it definitely seems different than what I'm used to. That said, this was by no means a surprise for me and I expected it to be just like this. So in my Pro/Con list, this is what I'm talking about with the "back corners sticking out".
Oh, and it came with a piece of red velcro for some reason!
The Good
Overall, it's a very nice and snug fit on the phone yet it's not terribly difficult (also not terribly easy, in a good way) to get it off of the phone. With this case on the phone, I'm certainly not concerned with the phone slipping out whether pulling the phone out of a purse with something tugging on the case nor with skinny jean pockets or anything else. The feel of it is a mix of a TPU feel and a "soft" feel for hard plastic (think the feel of the back of the black version of the Nexus 5 to mean what I mean "soft" for hard plastic, not Quicksand case "soft"). Nobody will have problems with this slipping in and out of their pockets nor is it incredibly slippery either.
For protection, this provides the protection you would hope from a TPU case and not much more. As you can see in the photos, every corner and edge is covered by TPU including the four corners on both the front and back as well as the edges along both the front and back of the phone. The back of the phone, however is only covered with the hard plastic. Take a look at the photos and you can tell where the TPU ends on the insides of the case and where the hard plastic begins on the outsides of the case. This case might protect your phone from a drop and it might not - just like with all TPU cases. If you buy this and you play first-person shooter games where you can change your armor out, this case could be thought of as light armor or perhaps medium armor but no where near heavy armor.
It is definitely an attractive (and Nexus branded!) case that doesn't look like what many of the other $14 cases out there look like. As you can see from the photos, the case is molded perfectly to fit with the camera ring cutout. Speaking of the camera ring, the case is just a tad thicker on the back side than your camera ring so if you lay it down on the back, your camera ring is no longer a protrusion. This may have some implications for those of you with magnetic accessories for the camera ring but I can't really comment much on that. Ultimately, unless you look at the port cutouts or see my white speaker on the front, this case makes it impossible to tell the color of my phone - that's how perfect the molding is for the fit. The ONLY flaw I could find with the case's fit was for the microphone on the top of the phone. The microphone isn't perfectly centered in the hole but it's also not covered either.
The Bad
There are three primary problems I have with the case.
First of all, a quick browsing at the time I wrote this turned up quite unfruitful in actually identifying where you can even buy this case today! It is now listed as unavailable on all of the Amazon postings and even all of the eBay cases that look just like the OEM bumper case have seemed to vanish. I'm curious if you can even buy this case anymore as I couldn't find it anywhere now!
So here's the first knock on the case: The buttons have a mushy feel with terrible feedback on the power/volume buttons. We all know that cases tend to be Good, Meh, or Bad here and this case definitely qualifies as bad. Sorry!
And the last thing:The USB Port cutout, while appearing quite large, is unfortunately too small for a variety of USB cables. The first 3 USB cables I randomly grabbed didn't fit comfortable in the space provided although the fourth one did. So you'll have to find a cable that will fit in there if you ever need one and don't use Qi for all of your charging needs.
Pros:
Nexus Branded!
Plenty of color options and cheap (it was $14 shipped from Amazon)
Great snug fit with perfect molding to the phone
Feels like you hope it would feel from the photos
Very low profile - better than your typical TPU case (except for the back corners sticking out)
Plenty of room around the 3.5mm audio port.
Won't affect NFC, Qi, or radios
Cons:
Hard to buy (no longer on Amazon and the eBay lookalikes are no longer listed either)
Took a month to ship
Bad button tactile feedback
Many USB cables won't fit in the cutout for the USB port
I hope you enjoy!!

I just got mine today too. I got the blue one. Does it feel like pyramid shaped to you? Mine does. The back is thicker than the front. Buttons are not that bad. Better than some of the cheap tpus. I can still see some white bordering the camera in the back. Not too bad a case. But the shape is weird. Does the original case have that pyramid shape? If you hold it by the sides you cab definitely feel that the back is wider than the front (lip).

Yup, I commented on this in my more thorough review. It's different than I'm used to but exactly what I expected from the photos on Amazon (and Google's OEM listings/reviews as well). I still don't know if I like it or not. Like you said, it's weird.

If I compared this to the worst TPU case I've ever had (and I've had some bad ones) that was rated as a 1 from 1-10, then I'd give this case a 2. You're right, there is worse. But not much worse - it's pretty bad. Maybe your blue one has slightly different buttons than mine but mine is pretty bad.
For the white around my camera on the back, I can't see any white whatsoever. At least I don't think I can even as I'm trying to look for it although I guess it's possible that the white + shadow makes it blend in with my light gray case. I don't see it, though.
Even no longer available but there are some cases like this in eBay if anyone would like to give it a try: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GOOGLE-PREM...Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item3cdc425b73. Uhh have you seen what most people have been saying about the official bumper? It's a low quality POS for the most part. Not worth full price, and even at $26 it isn't worth it with the peeling, staining, etc. Doesn't matter if it's from the play store. The unofficial ones might even hold up better, who knows, but the standard Google set with the official bumper case isn't exactly high. Besides, there's extra colors with the unofficial ones that some people might enjoy.
Anyway, if anyone still wants these ones I did find a link for super cheap. Of course it will probably take 3 weeks to a month to get to you, which is the case for most things shipping from overseas. But $12.99 shipped should make up for it. The Nexus logo is printed in a different color than the case on some of the color choices (just scroll down on the page to see).

God, it can't be any worse than the official bumper. I wish we had a better selection of actual bumper cases.
I'm using the Gray bumper clone for couple days. No staining (yet) , nice soft touch. Back panel is a bit bigger than front (as mentioned in 1st post).
I also have glass protector from Nillkin on, the case doesn't seem to push the glass.
Update: Now it has some blue from my jeans. sigh..
I may certainly be wrong but I'm beginning to think these unofficial cases are the same as the official ones, same manufacturing line and everything.
