I've been working on a nice stable version of EH17 for personal use and I want to make it live for the public. I'm trying to go with a nice AOSP feel, but don't want to use the 8 lock mod... Recently had a baby girl don't have the time to find out how the mod was done. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Well, the file to edit for the mod is the
android.policy.jar
And the aosp lock images are aready in the framework, the .jar has to be modded to point to the correct files and stuff.
This is very basic, I'm sure there is much more to do, but pm maddoggin or mysteryemotionz if you really need help

Hey, after TW 4.0 is really working for our device, I was wondering if it was possible someone could work on a theme port like this:

It would go great with the new EE03 ROMs since it is Gingerbread and it just looks amazing!
(Although, please, don't change the notification bar like they did! I hate battery % mods, lol)
Oh, and also can someone include the green CRT overscroll animation and some of the other green parts (like the text and copy and paste icons)

To each in own but i like the % battery it shows the regular bar as well as the % so i you cant really complain there but if its going to be such a hassle why not make 2 diff. versions if alot of people request that. i doubt it though.
Also this theme is pretty stock and just like the stock Gingerbread theme so i hardly doubt that this is going to be ported.

Well, the battery % thing is just a me thing. I don't really care if it's there; it just makes me more obsessed with battery life.
Second, the icons are pretty different and would be an interesting addition combined with the new TW 4.0.
I know it doesn't have major theme changes, but it's sleek and feels more up-to-date with the GS II in my opinion.

Since my internet just turned to crap recently I can't download stuff quickly.
I downloaded like 2 stock gs2 rom files (took about a whole day each) and they were both password protected so I couldn't un zip them

For the theme I posted in the OP.
I was wondering if someone could make a gingerbread theme with the 8 lockscreen mod built in and a flashable zip to change the theme to a different color or if not just purple to match the new cwm and also have a nexus s boot ani. add on?

First, the 8 lockscreen mod only works on EE03. The 6 lockscreen mod is what we have for EC05. Second, I can speak for myself and most of the themer's here when I say "not for ec05". Reason why is Gingerbread is right around the corner so why work the 20+ hours on a new theme that you would have to port the next day.
I'm sure once GB hits, you might be able to revisit this and get your request done.
That would be cool.... I just wanted something to match DRockstar's purple themed cwm... I guess I can wait a week lol

I've got some ideas in my head for a purplish theme, but I have 3 themes to port over first.
FYI, porting themes from froyo to GB is not an easy process. Much more differences in GB that going from Eclair to Froyo.

Need a cwm flashable deodexed template. Meaning deodexed framework AND all system apps. I've searched and the only thread that had one the dl is no longer available. I've even tried other sites.
Reason is I want to theme but do not want a custom rom. I pefer stock EC05 but just simply cannot find a theme template anywhere. Would be much appreciated if someone can post one or a link the one able to be downloaded. Thanks.

Help...
Having issues working with the .9.png's
I know how to mod them when I worked on GB roms, but for some reason I am having issues when I try to recompile the apk's. I am working with both the apktool 1.4.2 and 1.4.3 but I get errors trying to recompile them. Decompiling them works fine, I do my mods, and cannot recompile the apk's. I pm'ed some of the dev's asking for advice, but no response yet.
Anyone got some ideas???

Thanks to dillym34, I found out the reason I am having trouble decompiling is because the apks that i am trying to decompile are AOSP based (raverx3x's version), and they wont decompile correctly. So I have two options:
Either wait til May 15 for the tmo version to come out and mod those, or mod the AT&T leak and re-mod them again after we get our official version.
What do you guys think???

Would it work to theme the actual cm9 rom to get things themed that themes can't get such as lock screen? That's the only thing I can think of right now but I'm sure there's more things. Would this work or does the theme replace any files that would change whatever was changed from the original rom?

Yes it will work just fine. As long as the theme apk doesnt interfere with what your themeing it will be just fine. I'll break down what the theme is..
Essentially it is a redirection. It has the drawable folders just like the ROM for whatever DPI, in the epic's case HDPI. How it works is a redirection XML will shoot the application to another XML which is written to specify what goes where. Such as the status_bar... you would place that image in the Drawable-HDPI and the XML for the SystemUI.apk would be written for that [email protected]/status_bar.png if you catch my drift.
Of course its a bit more complicated but that is the essential. just an FYI if you decide to ever make one.

Ya I know that I meant that they're both used the same way, like the lock screen isn't themed from the theme itself. I know that I can't use them on both roms lol. I may have asked a dumb question earlier about contacts but I'm not that much of a noob to try cm9 themes on cm7 lol. And the contacts was just because I don't have experience with cm9 lol this is the first time I ever ever actually use it lol.
