Hi,
I am currently on MIUI 1.9.9 on my galaxy S I9000. My headset buttons are not working.
I found this old post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15626582&postcount=1638 which says flashing the platypus neo kernel solves the problem. Has anyone tried this as there are no comments from users. I haven't found any satisfying answer to this problem on the forum till date.
Has anyone got a solution to this problem. Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks

Appreciate your quick response. Just a couple of queries.

I hope the neo kernel at the above link is the latest one. And there are 2 files there to download CM7_SGS_20110907_NEO_17-stock-color.zip and CM7_SGS_20110907_NEO_17-voodoo-col.zip . Do i have to flash both these files to my Galaxy S I9000. i am a bit confused about this. Also if you can....tell me how to flash a kernel. The info i have so far is all in bits and pieces. I don't want to end up bricking my phone. If i can just get all the info in one place it would help.
Thanks once again.....

Same thing.
I'm exited by CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC0-GT-S5830-GalaxyICS-KANG-beta5 by Maclaw and waiting for this weekend to try it. Does it support GT-5830i? Somebody knows? (as my mind the answer is "no", 'cuz it different HW )
Device was crushed on CWM installing. Now completely recovered.
Sorry for my english =)
you bricked your phone after rooting and installing a custom rom, with no custom recovery menu? wat.
"Now i wonder if it exist any Mod(s) to gt-s5830i? I have serched on xda, but cant find any ..."
No, cyanogen mod is a rom, and there is loads of roms to flash!
You should of looked at a tutorial!
can somebody comfirm dat CyanogenMod support GT-5830i?
ROMs for 5830 are not supporting s5830i!!Trying to flash them will cause brick! It can be fixed but still no point in bricking your phone..it has different hardware. In fact people are trying to port CM 7.2 RC1 but it has many bugs and we need help to fix them!!
i tried to flash ics for s5830i and it said operation aborted but nothin harmful happened my phone is still the same
Well probably should say that am a noob then

please post on the FAQ thread
I faced the same problem at first. The headphones doesnt seem to work in ANY custom ROM. It was so frustating and finally found a solution. Thanks to stamatis.
Its a problem in an old stock firmware package.
Just update the stock rom package using kies
(or)
download the latest stock firmware of your region from this thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800
Refer the instructions given in 2nd post of that thread for installation.
Now install the custom ROM you want to install and there you go problem fixed

Did anyone experience problems with this game? I installed it and it downloaded the extra files, but then it couldn't open, it just closes right after the splash screen...
I' m on cyanogen 10.. I googled a lot but couldn't find an answer to my problem, only found that some other user experiences this, while some other doesn't..

That's weird because I played it on my GNex and it worked fine. I use my own compiled ROM from source. I think I played it when I was running 4.1.2 and just now tried it on 4.2.1 and it is working fine as well.
It may be helpful if you mention the exact android version you are running now whether it is 4.1.x or 4.2.x so hopefully someone else may be able to help you play this great game
Good Luck
The game plays with no problems on my gnex. I'm on stock 4.2.1.
I've got the game and it works perfectly without any trouble on stock 4.2.1... It might be because you're using CyanogenMod but I don't think it should make that much of a difference. I've never had trouble with the start up or running the game.
I'm on 4.1.2.. I sent a mail to the developers, seems strange to me though... i'm even using Franco kernel if that matters..

I'm starting to think that the problem is with cm10.. anyone tried the game on cm10 (android 4.1.2)?

Maybe it is easier to change your kernel first, delete the whole game and install it with the additional files from scratch before changing the ROM to something other than CM10. I use Trinity Kernel and the game is working fine on 4.1.2 and 4.2.1 as I mentioned earlier.
I tried but no luck.
I've dumped a logcat, maybe someone could help me reading it out to search for the issue...

I am not familiar with logcat but hopefully someone else will help in this.
Why don't you make a nandroid backup of your CM 10 then wipe and flash another custom ROM then try running the game??? If it works on the new ROM then you will be sure that it is related to CM 10. Afterwards, you can easily restore your CM 10 via the nandroid backup you made and narrow your troubleshooting to CM 10.
Just my suggestion until someone responds to your logcat

Found the problem in Franco Kernel. Just replacing it with another Kernel didn't work, I reflashed last nightly and everything went fine.
Gonna post the problem in Franco Kernel's thread, for users to know.
Thanks to everyone who helped me out.

Hi,
Greetings to all,I have been trying to get my hands dirty (learn a thing or two on ROM development) for a very very long time but never had the courage to take the plunge !
Finally I have decided to do it albeit a safer way,I have tried to port latest LEWAOS to Arc using the porting tool by Abinav2. I also tried others but kept getting one or the other errors.
Have taken the CM10 Nightly and the latest Lewa OS5 for the job and the result was successful to a large extent, The ROM installs fine but won't go past initial boot logo,There is no Boot Loop ! Its simply stuck at starting logo.
Have tried multiple kernels and tried to redo the ROM many times but no joy,One more interesting thing I noticed is in Lewa there is no init.d in etc folder,so how does one deal with it ??
So I finally decided to post it here to ask for some guidance and to check whether someone can actually boot into it.
Here's the ROM LewaXperia
PS: This is my first post on development front so please be gentle and Mods if this is not okay than please do let me know before you take any actions or suggest the right thing to do.
Regards.
Hi,
Guys can anyone please reply ? Did anyone of you try it ?? Results ??
Regards.

Thanks a lot for the help !! I really Am trying to make it work,But its just not happening.
I tried to change bootclasspath as suggested by you but there is no init.rc in both the ROM's !! So what Am I supposed to do now ? In the extracted folder there is sbin (folder),logo.rle and init,Thats all there are no other file or folder like your video shows.

First off you posted in the wrong section. All questions, help and troubleshooting issues should be posted in the Q&A, Help and Troubleshooting sections. You posted in the sacred section of development where only developers should me making threads. Also you need to wait 24 hours before bumping your thread if unanswered.

I would like to to download the sensei kernel but since the download is no longer valid I can't.
So I want to ask if some of you guys have an old download, and want to upload the file and link it?
Thanks in advance
yeah i wanted to ask that too, but maybe it is dead (no longer supported or compatible)

I actually had no idea the Find 7 HAD a custom kernel.. If you don't mind my ignorance, could someone tell me with what ROMs it is compatible with and if it also works on the 7a? Thanks!!
I think its compatible to 5.0.2 roms not sure with 5.1.1 tho.
has issues with wifi etc2
I haven't tried it with lollipop but it worked perfectly in AOSP (4.4.4) ROMS. P.S: My friend had made this kernel. It was posted on XDA & OPPO Forums but since not many people thanked him it was discontinued.

yeah. works on 4.4 up to 5.0.2 aosp roms
but I wish he continued tho. oneplus one kernel is 90% identical to find 7/7s. wish more devs could make kernels and roms to this device but the lack of interest is low
Guys this kernel is alive. It back up and rolling after a long time.
