CM7 Nightlies - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

im not asking for a ETA, but i want some Nightlies. lol

We already have nightlies, look in ROM Manager.
They haven't been updated in a while though because of some server error...if that's what you're asking.

kernel.org got hacked a while back, repositories unavailable, no nightlies till that gets fixed

Whats the difference between nightly and CM7 RC1

Ok sorry if this question is noobish but what is the difference?
They are both cyanogenmods but two different Download Thread.
Nightly's are not offically released by Cyanogen and RC's are, but they are both compiled by the same team. Plus RC's are considered stable enough for official release.

Nightlies are what CM7 RC1 is based off of. It essentially IS one of the nightlies. The nightlies are automatically built by a bot every night at the same time so that all the changes made that day are packaged into a rom and that is what becomes the next nightly.
The nightlies will continue to be built becauase RC1 means release candidate and is not considered stable.
They will eventually release an official CM7 Stable.

LOL "Built by a Bot Every Night" You made it sound so leet lol. I always it was some dude who just updates it and put it on.
But thanks. I am using RC1 right now everything is working so far. My last nightly was giving me reboot when i open my keyboard.
Also, you can always continue to flash the next versions of nightlies over the RC1, as other improvements and changes are made.

So the nightlies folowing an RC are based on the RC or on the previous nightly?

[Q] Cyanogenmod Nightly

What are Cyanogenmod Nightly ROMs? I would like to run one but am not sure what the difference is.
They are regular roms of CM7, but each nightly builds upon the last by updating fixes, patches, and new features.
Alright thanks.
Anytime man.

[Q] Running Synergy RC2

I am running the RC2 and I came from Fresh 4.2 where the updates show in the Fresh Updater, However in the Synerfy one it only shows one download. My question is how do you get the nightlies for RC2. Im not a noob just normally either went to Freshes website and checked or read the forums, just little confused with the new rom?
For the most part, Myn offers nightlies prior to a release candidate (RC) and while still is beta form. He rarely, if ever, offer nightly builds afterward reaching RC status.

I don't think there are nightlies to it. The Synergy Kingdom nightlies are based off something completely different.

CM7 nightly builds stopped?

Have all nightly builds stopped or is ROM Manager lying to me again? I know the build system was down for a while but the last nightly I see is around 16th November.
No, at this point the cyanogenmod team are busy building cm9, ics cream sandwich based.
That's not what Cyanogen said a month back. He said the team were working on 7.2 and ICS. That's the only reason I'm asking.
They're still working on 7.2 as well, though you'd need to kang it or you could use rasroygbiv's which he kanged (the same as a cm nightly but manually compiled) http://db.tt/9yEySTcq and check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=917271&page=709.

What is a nightly build? And is it okay for me to install the CM9 nightly build?

This one to be exact: cm-9-20120708-NIGHTLY-p930.zip
A nightly build is essentially a beta build. It still has some bugs, but they are fixed and updated often(to keep up, you would flash every day or two when the new nightly comes out). If you want something a little slower, but not quite as up to date, the RC1 is a good place to start and it is my daily driver and has been since it came out. There are a couple small bugs, but nothing deal breaking that i have found yet. I will probably continue to update with the RC releases since it requires less time flashing and restoring.
So yes, it is absolutely OK to install the nightly build and you can even stay with it until another RC comes out if you want.
