Hi guys I installed CM7 RC 1.5 on my stock froyo defy. CM7 is great and fast than the stock The only problem i have is my GPS is not working. Please help me out to solve the issue..
Was it working before? Do you try to launch GPS outside your house? I feel that In RC 1.5 GPS was improved. I get full GPS working in like 5 seconds !
Yea it was working before and it was working even in my room. Ill try outside room now and see.

Is anybody else having a GPS issue? I am totally unable to get a GPS lock on my slide after i flashed the TeamFenix v2.0 Froyo Rom.
Also is there any other GPS navigation besides the google one that's pretty good?
Im also experiencing a lag to the Screen Rotation on the home screen .
Auto-Rotate Screen is checked off in Display settings. However it takes me a good 5 seconds before switching. Is there anyway to fix that?
My bluetooth is also not working. It's paired up and connected to the device. However, it doesnt ring and I cannot operate it (no talk,answer)
Im running TeamFenix v2.0 which i believe is just a new n better version of the CM6.

A little reading would have revealed that yes it is based off cm6 recent version and that cm6 suffers some gps issues on some versions. Bluetooth does not work on cm6. Try an oc kernal if you havent already to fix your screen rotate lag

it would help to know what oc kernel you are running (if you are running one) and what home launcher you are using (ADW, LauncherPro... ect)
as far as the Bluetooth I answered that for ya a couple of days ago in the #TeamFenix v2.0 thread... until Cyanogen and the rest of #Teamdouche release CM 6.x.x we probably won't see a fix for BT using 2.2
the screen lag SHOULD be able to be fixed by one of a couple easy fixes... if you are running Launcher Pro un-install and re-install. if you are running the latest Dopio OC kernel (3.5) turn off you screen off profile.
for the GPS don't know about 2.0, however I do know it works just fine in TF 1.7.1 (I used it today to find a my newest shipper on my route)
but like I said on Friday if you must have BT then you will have to go back to a 2.1 ROM

As i mentioned in my post, that it's a better version of the cm6 therefore i did do some reading hence how i know.
As far as gps, so some versions it does work? Which versions are you referring to ? I do have a oc kernel.

As far as kernel, Im running : Dumfuq OC 825-v3.2-legend-cm-2.6.29. Im using LauncherPro.
Okay thanks again, sorry to be a pain, it's just very inconvenient not to have the bluetooth specially when im driving and stuff and hoping there was an alternative but guess not....thx again. I guess u cant have both uh.

As far as GPS, then i guess its 2.0 issue ....cuz it's not working, when using google maps navigation, i keep getting the Waiting for GPS message , no lock watsoever.
I am running CM6 on my slide, and I can get a GPS lock. It's just a little tedious is all. I always have GPS turned off unless I'm using it. So these are the steps I use to get a signal/location lock.
1) Turn GPS on
2) Turn Navigation on and select address
It will never connect for me the first time
3) Exit Navigation and turn GPS off
4) Turn GPS back on and open Navigation
5) Select address again and make sure my phone is on my dashboard or can see the sky, and let it looks for about a minute.
If it doesn't get a location in a minute or so I repeat 3-5. I'm not sure if the phone needs to have a lined sight to the sky, but I know my gfs dads old gps needed it and I just do it to make sure.
Reflash an 806 kernel and your GPS should work. It seems that part of the chipset can't handle more than 806. And it's not that much slower than 825 anyway.

Hey all, I am new to the EVO and I am having a very strange problem, My GPS and Google Navigation will not work together, When I use MAPS the navigation works but when I switch to the Navigation program the GPS will stay on for 2 seconds then drop then come back 5 mins later then stop again ... in GPS test and GPS status, works perfectly... Any ideas on this... Same problem on CM7, CM6 and Sense ROMS.... is it something I am doing wrong .... I had smilliar problems when I was on the Vibrant ... Me+Navigation+Android have had a sour relationship .. Three ways never work out .. LOL .. Anyhow anybody got any insight it would be so helpful.. Thanks everyone!

are you using a custom kernel? are you underclocking?
Using the Savage 1.6 ... when on Sense, or the CM7 Kernal otherwise ... Navi works on CM7 only when I start the MAPS program
Can anyone who's flashed the new EB13 already and has actual knowledge of the GPS problems (not just experiencing them but knows a bit about how it works and the problems we were facing) care to report on the "GPS fix" that came with the update. Appreciate it!

Na what I did flashed back to 2.1 my gps was still dead left it on flashed it to 2.2 through the samsung website and a stroke a luck most have occurred cause the gps now works flawlessly
Mine is dead too! flashed back to 2.1, still dead, flashed to 2.2.1 with samsung updater. Still dead. hmmm what should I try next?

EB13 Killed my GPS HARD!!!!
Was on stock DI18. Complete stock, have been for months. GPS was fine.
Used Samsung tool to flash to froyo.
GPS DEAD
Flashed back to DI18

yea updating to froyo definitely broke your gps. Fried some chips on your phone for sure. Getting a new one will definitely make gps work for you. Its obviously Samsungs fault, lets blame them.

B) works for me
GPS is working flawless for me, both inside and out. Lock in 5 seconds outdoors and 10 seconds indoors and accurate to 3 meters.
1st try locked on within 6 meters.
Glad to hear most of your gps are 'fixed'. Coming from the Captivate section... lol
I went to the market and got "GPS status" and ran the program and now I get lock in a few seconds even indoors.
Gps works same.as it did.in dk28 for.me. its very accurate

My collegue who got the OTA froyo confirms that his GPS lock is better.
I've always had an easy time locking onto sats from DI18 to DK28.
What I'm interested in is that it KEEPS the locks. DK28 would randomly drop satellites after a few minutes of constant use. It would be really annoying when using navigation, but after about a minute or 2 it would relock.
Try actually using your nav for a few trips and then you'll see if the GPS was actually fixed or not.
I know a couple of people who had the same issue and I'm really hoping the official froyo fixed this.

Running rooted DI18
GPS by satellite was "ok", but not perfect.
aGPS was non-existent - didn't work at all.
After EB13 update/root:
GPS by satellite hasn't been thoroughly tested - results to follow at a later time.
aGPS is flawless! Beautiful Widgets' weather & Foursquare both working now.

My GPS was horrible for DI18, better for DK28 (would lock up after 20+ minutes, though, and cause a reboot) and seems to be working for EB13.
I do not use network locations at all.
GPS works with Airplane mode on, it seems. Using MapDroyd, I received a lock and location in seconds.
I will run this while driving home to see if the GPS locks up and stops working as it did in DK28.
Since flashing to CM7.0.0 (yes I know, I have been lazy and haven't flashed to the new stable yet) I haven't had GPS. I performed the GPS reset by flashing to a Sense ROM and tried using GPS status to no avail. Can anyone help?
CM says GPS is fixed in the stable release. you should flash to the stable release and see if the problem persists.
When I used CM I did the GPS fix you described and had mine working fine.
Might as well flash on up to 7.0.2.1! I would do the sense gps fix one last time.

See if flashing to CM 7.0.3 fixes the icon. Mine only appears when running an app that actually uses the GPS (Maps, Navigation, GPS Status).

Disable your GPS first, then close out your app using the GPS. This works for me. It is annoying to see the icon when the GPS is off.
As of recently my GPS has been bugging out on me when I drive around. I did the GPS fix prior to having flashed CM7 a while back and it has helped. Until recently since its been bugging out.
Anyone else?
Wow. That's very descriptive. When you feel compelled to actually describe the problem you're having, someone might feel compelled to help you.
Do the sense fix and update to the latest nightly. Helps to post your question with what CM 7 version your running to get more answers. Keep up to date on the nightly most bugs are fixed now.
at least for me.. i found opening up GPS Status tends to work.. and sometimes not...
when it does have some trouble.. i toggle the gps off and back on.. and go back to GPS Status... i dunno.. but that always seems to work for me.
