Hello, Just heard about the MHL adapter for Galaxy s2 & HTC sensation, Will it work with Desire HD!??
;-)
Yeah anyone?
Its a software thing so if the developers decide to put it in their ROM's then its possible.
Does Htc One V has DLNA like Galaxy W?

I guess HTC One V does not have DLNA - DLNA is listed under the specs for One X in HTC site, not for One V (can't post a link to the specs since I am kind of newbee here).
I haven't seen the screen of Galaxy W, but from my short time with the HTC One V, the screen looked great and really bright (I previously used an Xperia X8). Only I wish it didnt come with the dead pixel and yellow spots on screen
Hello guys, I registered in this forum hoping to find a solution for the problem I have.
I bought an original Samsung HDTV Adapter (Micro USB type) to use it to connect my new Galaxy S3 to my LCD Samsung TV via HDMI cable, BUT IT DOESN’T WORK !!
I checked the same adapter with a Galaxy Nexus and it worked just fine, but I had no luck to get it work with Galaxy S3. Any reason for that?
Please help. Thank you!
Have you set the TV-Out options on the phone?
There is no TV-Out options in the phone !! , any other thoughts?
The settings might be in the AllShare application or something like that, most phone's with TV-Out don't have it enabled by default as you have to choose PAL/NTSC/etc. I'm just guessing based on my SGS1 though, I don't have my SGS3 yet.
Can confirm it's not working. Couldn't find any mention of mhl in the manual either.
Also mine that I used with Note is not working

Damn, this is a bit of a major for me! I hope this isn't a case of Samsung not including MHL to sell more of their AllShare Cast dongles...
Charlie Sheen aproves this accessory.

This is a major letdown. I've also bought a MHL adapter to use with my (delayed pebble blue -.- ) SIII, didn't expect this to happen.
Anyone else has tried connecting the phone through hdmi?
That’s really frustrating!! I guess I figured it out and it doesn’t look nice from Samsung.
I found this accessory online which is yet to be released and compatible with the S3:
Part No: EPL-3FHUBEGSTD (sorry I cant post links as im a new user and the system wont allow me, u will be able to find that part in MobileFun site )
The same older model won’t work !! it’s the same device though with an older version. Here is the old model part no. which is available in market now:
Part No: EIA1UHUNBECSTD (u can search it in the same site “MobileFun”)
So if you have your old HDTV Adapter, I guess you can’t use it with the S3. That’s BAD Samsung, really BAD
Anyway, if any 1 can figure a way to make the older model work with the S3 please post it here, as im not eager to buy a second HDTV Adapter
Hi
I tried my old Bizlink with my S3 - it definitely does not work. Apparently only the new cable (EPL-3FHUBEGSTD) will work.
MobileFun expect their new HDTV adaptors on Friday.
Well, this is annoying. My old Samsung official MHL one doesn't work, and neither does my prototype one from the MHL consortium. Would like to know how Samsung explain messing up a connection standard?
My speculation: they have changed it so that the adapter delivers more charge to the S3 during MHL connection sessions...

Thats what i thought also !! Samsung must have changed the power requirement for the newer model. Its very annoying from Samsung i agree.
Got a confirmation from Samsung that the MHL adapter sold for the SGS2 won't work for the SGS3. They didn't mention whether they would release a new one, but I assume they will.
i have same problem i think they want us to buy dongle
Do you guys think the ebay version will work? Theres a few on there and they say they work with sgs3

Pretty sure they won't work. Just wait for the official adapter.

They won't work. They will have said that in anticipation of them working (which is entirely fair enough on their part, since, you know, MHL is a connections standard that Samsung seem to have messed up).
TV Output should be work as 1280 x 720 or 1920 x 1080 resolution?

It will mirror the phones display at 1280x720p, but will output HD video to the videos actual resolution up to full HD.
(when we have a working MHL adapter that is)
Does anyone know what version of MHL the m8 supports? Also any recommendations for adapters is greatly appreciated.
Test results
I successfully tested the original Samsung HDTV to HDMI Adapter EIA2UHUNBECSTD. The HTC One M8 is charging to the same time. I did not expect that.
It failed with the Cable Matters 6 Feet Micro-USB-to-HDMI MHL Adapter - the same cable worked with a Samsung Galaxy S2.
Bump
I'd like to know which one to get aswell

Hi all,
I am having problems connecting my M8 to my TV with an MHL to HDMI converter. I connect everything up as instructed and it doesn't work. It charges my m8 but that's it.
I have tried it with my galaxy S2 and it didn't work. Then I flashed it back to stock ROM and it was fine. It worked perfectly.
The M8 is running stock Vodafone Rom. Android 5.0.1 sense V 6.0
Has anyone else had MHL working with this setup? I'm wondering if MHL is broken on the M8 Android 5.0.1 stock ROM?
Has anyone else had an MHL converter that worked on an S2 but not on an M8?
Thanks everyone for any replies.
Ok. After having a search it seems that some "cheap" cables will be a bit hit and miss. I.e. they might work for some phones and not others. The cheap electronics probably don't have much leeway with the way the device outputs the stream.
I ordered an official Samsung Galaxy S2 mhl adapter to try that out. I saw on another thread that this worked with the M8 without a problem (probably much better electronics inside). It actually cost me only £2.99 - the same as the unbranded cheap one ??? Should have gone for a Samsung one from the start!!!
I'll post my results when it arrives.
Meanwhile - any issues getting MHL to work on the stock ROM I've got? Or should this ROM work fine?
it worked
Although I didn't get any response I can confirm it DID work.
So I'll add some sentences here so this might appear in search results for others with the same issue:
Working MHL to HDMI adapter for HTC one M8
Samsung MHL adapter for HTC one M8
Which MHL adapter for HTC one M8
MHL adapter not working on HTC one M8
I can confirm that the Samsung MHL adapter for the Samsung Galaxy S2 works perfectly with the HTC one M8.
The CHEAP adapter I got from EBay does NOT work. So if you are having problems getting an adapter to work then this is likely the problem. The cheap one does work with my old Samsung Galaxy S2 - so it's not faulty. However, the cheap ones must not meet the specs quite right to be compatible with every device. So a cheap one may or may not work with your device - it's pot luck.
I picked up an official Samsung one for only £2.99 - just as cheap as any other.
This is a quality device. And should work with all phones (as long as they are not 11 pin ones).
On another note. If you are not running a stock ROM make sure that it supports MHL.
On my old galaxy S2 running the Centinal ROM MHL would not work. I switched it back to stock ROM and it worked just fine.
