Just wondering if there are any Android user/developer clubs or groups that meet periodically in the Twin Cities or Duluth, MN? Anyone know of any? Anyone interested if I were to start one? Maybe meet once per month to check out what each other has done with their phone and share tips and tricks. Personally I don't have that many friends and it's not because I'm an a-hole or anything. I just seem to spend all of my spare time playing with this kind of stuff so I don't get out much. I don't know anyone else that is into this stuff as much as I am and it would be nice to meet people interested in the same thing.

Im fairly new here but in the several months Ive been a member Ive realized that this sight has by far attracted the best developers out there to post there creations here. So I have an idea. Why not select the best 10 or 15 developers around and have them work on one project. One ROM upgrade that is jam packed with only the best of the best, then make it available for as many devices as possible. Why not? Imagine taking some already amazing programs developed by a single developer and having 5 more jump in to. I may be jumping the gun here but I dont think so. Lets get to the point though. I am willing to fund the project if any EXTREMELY experienced programers think they are able to do so. I have the means to market any software created for sales. I currently own a decent size business in Southwest Virginia and two websites, one of which will be dedicated soley to this project. Any programmers whare interested post a reply with a link/download/Info on some of your work and ill pm you with my contact info. Location has to be in the US or CAN. THIS IS NO JOKE!!! Payment for programmers will be determined once people start stepping up but it will be really good as long as your work is the same. Youll be paid before it starts and after that its up to your skills. Hopefully some will step up here. The possibilities are amazing. One last thing. Im not trying to start a Microsoft or Apple, but Ive seen genius work posted here. This is where Windows Mobile phones come to life. Without these programs these phones would be nothin special and we would all be carrying Razrs! I think with the right people and funding something could really turn out. We'll see who replies now?
If the creator of s2p,s2u2,s2v, A_C is interested, I would love to see what you could do for the looks of windows mobile. Your ideas with ten others and good funding WOW.
For the life of me, I cannot find a good place to offer a decent amount of Android clothing and accessories not related to the phones! I started this search for a Tie Pin(Tack) because I now have to wear ties at work. This is driving me crazy! With as many people who love Android, why so little in this area? I have found a few random shirts here and there mostly from Cafepress.com but nothing dedicated. If ANY of you have any ideas, PLEASE! LOL let me know! Thank you!

http://zazzle.co.uk has plenty of android stuff available.
I originally posted this on deviantART earlier today but have received no responses. 1800PocketPC recommended that I also try here. I didn't even think there may be designers lurking in the developer ranks...!
[EDIT: Apparently I'm not allowed to add a link to back-reference the deviantART link because I'm a newbie.]
I'm a software developer from the UK with absolutely no graphical ability. None. Every time I come here and see the awesome visuals that you guys produce I am literally blown away. The sheer range and quality of graphics are mind-blowing.
I'm primarily a web developer but in my past I've been involved with creating Flash-based games along with designers, but my eye's recently been caught by the Windows Phone 7 system that Microsoft are producing and the XNA architecture that you can use to develop games for it.
If you don't know, basically MS are throwing a tonne of money at their new phone operating system (coming out in a couple of months) and will have an application ecosystem similar to Apple's. My plan is to get a few (simple) 2D retro-style games up on their app store to try and capitalise on this surge of new people.
I am more than capable of developing the architecture for the game. I have experience in developing tile-based gaming engines and have already produced one example of a top-down "fighter" game using XNA and some dodgy graphics as a proof-of-concept. My plan is to take this and some other games I have ideas for, develop them in conjunction with a designer (or two) and put them on the marketplace.
I'm looking for someone interested in creating some retro-style game graphics/sprites to help me achieve the goal of selling these games and making us both - hopefully - some money. I'm hoping that someone out there there's someone, possibly a student, who'd like help. Even if the games don't get off the ground (and/or don't make any money), I will provide Windows-executables of the game that the artist might be able to use for course credit, CV, or something similar.
Please note that this is not a paid job. Not up-front, at least. However it is something that I hope will take off and we can arrange a profit-share for. I'm willing to accept the costs of getting onto the approved-developer-list (so that we can submit applications).
Is anyone interested?
Craig.

I have some cogs turning in my head about a variant of audiosurf, except its more of a puzzle, with your favorite tunes. I really think it will take off if its done right, I just need the know-how to develop it myself
Cheers guys
Have emailed you both. Anyone else interested?
I think this is a great idea and my plan is to work with a number of designers on a number of different games/applications/projects over the coming few months, so as many as possible!
Craig.
I'm interested. I have experience in Photoshop (7 years) and am a beginner in character design and fine arts as well. Shoot me an email and I'll show you some of my work.
glad to see you finaly got the ball rolling on this

Hello,
My name is Trevor and I own and built www.taxiroute.co.uk which is a taxi fare calculator for the UK.
The website on its own generates £12m of enquiries a year. I deperately need a Windows Phone 7 app writing.
I was wondering if anyone might be interested in having a chat about joining taxiroute to help write this app?
Knowledge of Bing Maps and integration to webservices would be advantageous.
Drop me a line if you might be interested.
Thanks
Trev
http://www.freelancer.com/
I know all about freelance.com and im sure they will appreciate the backlink.
but im not looking for a freelancer as such.
I would like to team up with someone, and i appreciate this is a long shot, who does wp7 and hopefully might think taxiroute is a good idea and would like to come aboard.
The website is doing £11m of enquiries a year 18 months in. People seem to love it. But they always beat me with the stick "where's the mobile version?" And, "how many people do you think are looking for a taxi in front of their laptop?"
I've done all the back end. the api is ready:
http://www.taxiroute.co.uk/DesktopModules/IWeb/webservice.asmx
I wrote an old wm 6.5 version and it worked great. wm6.5 is obsolete really. but a good test.
Ive managed to get a wp7 demo together but im just mashing other peoples code together withought really understanding what it does completely.
So, anyone out there messing around with wp7 that might like to take a chance?
its bing mapping, silverlight, xaml, webservices and all the other things you probably know more about than me...lol
my main competitor just won the king of bling maps and is featurd in the US tv campaign.
Any fools out there with a couple of hours spare?
Trev
To be honest it looks like you're trying to get some developer to come do some work for you for free, and then you'll turn around and make some money off it.
to that all i can say is "no" really.
in my above post i hoped to prove that this is not a flash in the pan and that i had made a lot of effort before i considered wasting other peoples time.
this is an honest offer.
i dont know what else to say really.
trev
i sound like a bloody advert for wp7. ive said really, 4 times, 5 including this one..
Well, you wouldn't be the first person posting here who was like that You're actually the third guy in the last two weeks to come here looking for a WP7 programmer.
It's still not really clear what you're looking for. You're not building an open source program, you're not looking for a freelancer apparently, are you looking to hire someone, or enter a profit-sharing agreement or something?
I send you a PM

"Sorry, we do not have a tariff for your route. The Administrator has been notified of this missing information. Please accept our apologies."

Well the routing is trying to take me down a road thats been closed off for years and years. So not much good if it cannot give me an alternate route.
You need to get this fixed. Just as well its a free download.

Hi, firstly thanks for taking the time to have a look at the app and giving me some feedback!
I must admit, and im not trying to avoid responsibility here, but the routing is all done by Bing Maps. The chances of me being able to get them to update their maps is zilch
Could I ask a favour?
Would you try the route that you mention in the websites below and let me know what they come back with?
http://www.bing.com/maps/
and
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wl
It would be interesting to see if firstly the web version of Bing also has the same problem with the route and whether Google maps says anything different.
Your help would be greatly appreciated

Yes Bing maps are sending me down the wrong route, but Google is giving me the correct routing. Try yourself (Marchburn Drive to Aberdeen Airport.)
Hello everyone, I am wandering if anyone knows why my phone doesn't charge on the official LG charging dock when running CM13? I have tried to search and can't find any relevant answers to my question. Thanks
Same problem
I am having the same problem as well, I have no idea why someone just doesn't cough up the solution, these coder types think that us other people aren't involved in our own specialties...they do things to cater to eachother and your girlfriend, which is really what they are after...well, their technocracy is going to get blown off of the map if they don't support people who DO actually PAY them for what they do.
Just like when I derived a complete theory of the human psyche/immortality/infinite yo uth from a free energy GUT called "utilizing scalar electromagnetics to tap vacuum energy"
NONE of these coder types appreciated me, in fact, they were so jealous that they strive every day to hide true wonder and true progress so that they can maintain an advantage on your girlfriend.
The harsh reality is that most of these guys get sucked into the DN and are after more than that.
GIVE US OUR WC BACK! WE DONATE TO YOU MOTHERS!!!
