DoublePower lets you launch one or more applications at any time when you quickly double-click the power button.
If you set it to launch one application, it just launches.
If you set it to launch more than one application, it launches a menu listing them.
I wanted this so I could launch SuperDim whenever I wanted to adjust screen brightness without going to the home screen from an app.
The beta expires after Sept. 16. I think eventually there will be a free version that lets you include only two apps in the DoublePower menu and a paid version without that limit. Or maybe the free version will pop up a nag screen from time to time. Haven't decided.

I added an option to turn off the WiFi when the device is powered off. Press MENU | Options.
This doesn't work if you both:
(a) use deep sleep
(b) have at least one double-power-click application set
I extended the beta to Sept. 30. Also, you can add to the double-power menu one or more of these: WiFi toggle, Airplane mode toggle, Bluetooth toggle, and HOME (I think you could do that in the previous version, too).
In particular, if you want to have a way to get out of full-screen apps, you can just assign HOME to double-power.

I am wondering whether to upgrade from my E4GT to the S3, but I worry that I would really miss the search button. I am used to holding down the search button to get a list of my ten favorite apps (using my free FastLaunch app, in Google Play) at any time. This way if, say, I want to switch the audio from the speaker to the earpiece for listening to ebooks in public without headphones or switch screen colors or do some other common function, I can just get the relevant app popping up on top of whatever else I am doing, do what I need to do, and press back once to go to what I was doing before.
Is there any way to remap, say, a long-hold of the menu button or of the back-button to do something useful? With root, of course. (I assume the fsdebug exploit still works.)
I know that there is stuff like Wave Launcher where you wave the phone and it pops up a list of common apps, but I think that would get annoying fast, plus the use of the accelerometer will eat up batteries. I really like launching things with hardware keys...
Long holding home button brings up most recent apps. Assuming you use you favorite apps , it should work.

As the title implies, I cannot get the app SecureOTP to run on the phone properly. It gives some message, but it's in Japanese. Unfortunately I need the app in order to play Phantasy Star Online 2. Someone in a review stated they got it working via a setting, but I am unaware of what it is. Anyone got the tech skills to try and wrangle the bug?
Bumping for still an issue. Screenshot added for hopeful help.

I registered because I faced the same problem. It's pretty easy, just go to settings -> ASUS customized settings -> Recent apps key. Now choose the value for Recent apps key as "Tap and hold to show menu". As the name implies it let's you open up a menu when holding down the right capacitive button on the zenfone 2. After this you can revert back to the old settings for this button since SecureOTP does not need you to fiddle around with its menu anymore.
Truth to be told I did not come up with this and had struggled for days and the only clue I got was your post and the review on playstore which you mentioned. I figured zenfone 2 must have its own way to open up menus so I dug around the settings. But yes, SecureOTP has finnicky problems with its menu button which vary between phones and it even happens on emulators like bluestack.
Anyway, enjoy your PSO2 and have fun.
Is it possible to run 2 different apps on screen at the same time , like say youtube and chrome . I'm not sure if the phone has the feature
Well, there is an option to run two instances of one app. So you can use two whats app accounts. And with Nougat update you can set split screen in "Recent Apps" menu by dragging one app to the top of the screen and choosing an other one for the bottom of the screen.
Possible in Android 7.

You have two options.
1. Open both apps, as you said YouTube and chrome. Click back/finger print soft button a bit for multi tasking window, click top of one app and drag till the taskbar and release your finger, there you have it.
2. Open the above two apps, or more. Slide the bottom part of screen to reveal on screen navigation bar if you have disabled it. Click and hold multitask button for a bit. That's it.
What is screen pinning and how do I use it?
Using screen pinning, device can be made to show only a certain app's screen as long as you want.
Screen pinning can be often useful, especially if you want to play a game without accidentally minimizing the app (if you touch the Home button). Though Home button on G5 plus is at a lower level than display, it can still happen.
How to enable Screen Pinning feature ?
1. Go to Settings > Security.
2 . Enable Screen pinning here.
How to pin a screen ?
1. Open an app(to be pinned)
2. Go to Recent apps
3. Touch the pin icon at the bottom of the overview of app you just opened

}
(Note: Sometimes you may need to drag up the app view in Recent items view for PIN icon to show)
To exit from the pinned screen touch and hold the Back navigation key.
NOTE: If you are using Moto's one button navigation, the back key will appear to allow you to unpin the screen once you have pinned something. Once unpinned, the buttons will disappear again.
Hope this makes your gaming experience bit better :fingers-crossed:
The main idea is to call a fake contact which triggers the previously configurated actions.
Steps to configure it:
1- Create the contact
2- Add it to favorites from Huawei Health
3- Create the action
(I used MacroDroid, in this case the Trigger is Dialing the phone number and the action is Plugin Locale / Tasker> Yeelight
4- I am still watching how to automatically hang up the call
View the results: Macro / Watch

We will have up to 10 contacts (10 actions, in principle) assigned to invented numbers.
For those who have enough smart devices at home, this is surely good news. You spend less time, you don't have to go and get the phone, and also you feel that your GT 2 is a little less limited.
Let's hope Huawei integrates a keyboard, note manager (text and voice), besides the ability to answer messages or interact with notifications.
In the meantime, I think this method can play a good role.
