Hi!
Is it possible to use the AlphaRev tool to change partition table on a S-LCD device with a 1.02 HBOOT, S-OFF'ed with the Revolutionary method?
You can just flash one of the alpharev hboot-images it will work just fine, as they'll just replace your 1.02 with their custom one.
and no do not use the alpharev tool as you are already s-off just flash a hboot.

On the alpha rev sire Theres a bravo downgrader. Any 1 know if it's new for the ruu or if its old
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
hbbot downgrader sould be flashed before you run ruu, in other way you will stay on s-off
yup, just to add to that.. Alpharev's HBoots are made so they cannot be overwritten by other HBoots apart from Alpharev ones, therefore if you flash a RUU and you don't flash the downgrader, you will have a stock, unrooted ROM, but still Alpharev S-OFF. The Alpharev downgrader "Unlocks" The HBoot which allows it to be overwritten by the HBoot from the RUU.

Yeah because that was a newer Hboot.. basically, if you notice the difference between the stock S-ON HTC Hboot and the alpharev one is the version
Stock: 0.93.0001
Alpharev: 6.93.1002
That's why when you flash the RUU it doesn't overwrite the HBoot.. because naturally it won't downgrade it, however the new 2.3 RUU has a newer hboot which is a higher version than the alpharev one, hence it has overwritten it.
Or at least that's the way I understand it..

Hi,
I am s-off woth cm r2 table using Oxygen.
I flashed the stock hboot table and then the RUU.
The process went perfect and it installed the RUU. But when I start the phone woth Vol dwn + power it still says AlphaRev S-off.
I then tried the new gingerbread RUU and it still the same but the HBOOT is the new one 1.02.0001.
Is there a way of removing S-OFF?
Best regards

Always the same kind of questions here
from http://alpharev.nl/ :
Downgrade protection, these HBOOTs cannot be overwritten by an OTA or RUU, unless you flash a downgrader HBOOT first.

Mean nothing will overwrite the alpharev hboot, untill u flash the downgrader hboot
Flash the Bravo Downgrader hboot..After u can run the ruu

hi
i have installed a Original WWE RUU for my desire which was factory unlocked(sim free)
i was s-off using alpharev cm7r2 hboot image and i changed it to stock apharev, the alpharev splash screen is gone as well as the CWM recovery image but how do i get rid of the hboot?
it is still showing Alpharev at the top as well as a different hboot id which starts from 6......?
this is the RUU i used: RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed
Thanks in advance
You need to get the downgrader from alpharev then run the ruu again. With the newer hboots you can't change the hboots no matter what you do.
Punched in..
Hello, i have unlocked my phone with htc official tool, and it have installed a 1.03.0003 hboot. Now I want to flash a custom rom. But it is possible to "undo" all and go back to a 0.93 hboot for flashing (example) cm7 based roms?
Thanks
NO...i think....
Apparently it is possible to gain root access, but about changing hboot I'm not so sure if revolutionary team would bother with it. In summary - fail.
SwiftKeyed from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk.
in fact, i am now able only to install stock hboot custom roms, like ics beta.. revolutionary tool works only with 1.02 hboot, at the moment.. I have tried goldcard, flash old hboot with fastboot, but nothing.. Hope someone will be able to "delete" this hboot...
Hi,
I didn't realy downloaded much rom these last few years, so just to be sure : when a rom require a stock hboot, it just requires the default partitionning, right ? So I just go to alpha-rev and download the default S-OFF one ?
Thanks
Yes. However, if you have never changed hboot, then you are already on stock hboot and you won't need to do anything.
If you do need to change hboot to stock, use the first one in the table "Bravo Stock" with 250MB /system
You need to check which hboot you're on currently, as you may need to flash the Bravo_downgrade.img from the same page first. This will unlock certain write protected hboots, so you can then flash the stock hboot over the top.
I always recommed to flash hboots using fastboot
