My Galaxy woes!!

I recently bought Galaxy S from UAE..It does not have android market..Whenever i hav tried to install it, it force closes. If by chance it does install, if force closes whenever i click on anyone of the applications for downloading...
Needless to say i hav tried EVERY damn trick in the book to get android market working properly on my mobile. PLS HELPPPPP!!!
Also i wud b grateful if any1 can post the apk file for particle storm live wallpaper, as i cnt access the market.

Why dont you just flash a custom ROM. It will give you Market pre-installed. I recomend DOC's ROM. Fast & reliable.

you can also root your phone and put clockworkmod on it.
and than you can flash market on your phone.

First of all..forget everything we said. GO to the the Q&A section and read everythng.its all detailed..Only after sound knowledge should you modify your phone..else you might regret a silly mistake and get panicked. take your time to understand the term rooting, flashing ROMs, what are ROM..etc.

Maybe you could just root your device maybe with super one click, and the install market enabler to change for example to US sim if it still happens?

It's been 10 days and you still haven't got market working?

or just do this dude...
Check your IMEI number by dialing *#06# then
dial *#272*IMEI# and then select XSG... this will hard reset your phone so do a backup in recovery mode (shot down your phone completely then press up volume + menu + (last) power button then release when you see the Samsung logo)...

wifi and data connection
need help,.iam using repencis rom v2,.i follow all the steps,.
but my wifi and data connection aint working
i can connect to wifi but not on the internet
anyone who can help me?

i am also using repencis v2
i followed every instructions and im on the part where i have to use better terminal emulator
i opened better terminal emulator, went to preferences, and then options and i looked for the method input and there's none.
can i just omit that part or do i have to download another terminal emulator?

First of all thanks for this thread , from last week iam thinking to migrate from creeds to repencis but cant because of complication with repencis flashing.
Which is the best way flashing with CWM or odin, i tried with odin but not successful and using stock now. So is flashing with CWM is ok and can anyone plz provide me the latest link of Repencis rom flashable with CWM.
and Mostly what i noticed is data connection problem is ther any successful solution for that..plz frnds help me out..

the easiest way, use third party message apps such as go sms.

Repencis
uhm, overall i love the ROM. i didn't encountered any problem flashing it thru CWM and ODIN. but i have a few questions.
1. is there anyway i can use tyhe Voice Search of Google? even third party apps like Vlingo isn't working. always Forced Closed.
2. is there any way i can remove the error when changing lockscreens? i hate browsing to gallery coz i got many files there. >.<.
3. lastly, can i revert to stock rom when i want to? if yes, how? i forgot to make backup ain CWM coz i dont have any free space in my sd card. thanks!

As many of u know when we send an sms with 4 pages or more its automatically converted in an Mms ... Which is annoying and sometimes costly!
We are also limited to send that same sms to a limit of 10 people ... wich is also a pain in ass!
However with this mod u can break both the limits without convertion or restriction ... wich means u can send with as many pages as u want to as many persons as u like
How Can U Have This? Its Simple
You'll Need:
- A Phone With CWM Recovery
- A Deodexed System
- A Brain
To Install It:
- Choose The One That Fit u Best
- Flash It From Recovery
What If U Have A Odexed System?
You'll Have to ( With Help Of Root Explorer ) go to system/app and delete Mms.apk and its respective odex file and then u can flash this

Didnt notice that its for Stock ROMs
IT's been really long, back when i used to use Stock Roms
Nywy by default in CM7 Rom the Mms.apk
the enter key is replaced with smileys key and hence going to next line using (enter key) is gone
So i was just wondering if u could bring it back.
I mean instead of smiley key i want the enter key back by default

Instructions:
- With RootExplorer go to System/Apps, look for Mms.apk make a copy of that to your SDCard so you have a backup in case something go wrong (It Wont )
- Now found the file you´ve downloaded, copy to System/Apps, replace, set permissions to rw-r--r-- (like in the image below)
- Reboot, push the icon into app drawer, DONE, enjoy

[Q]Help with JB camera says insert SdCard

Hi Guys...
I own a Neo L it has same spec and hardware as Xperia Play.. I was trying to get few multi boot JB kernels work for my Neo L....
Neo L boot with turbo kernel and the camera is inverted..So I compiled it from source again.. now camera is workign fine but.. it shows please inserte SD card..to take picture.. can some one Please help me... We neo L guys didn't get a working camera yet.. so Pls.....

what ever I tried to save to sdcard is not happening.. not even able to take a screenshot...

Seems like it dosent detect your sdcrd. Mybe there's smthing u miss when u re-compile the app, like i said earlier. Mybe u could re-use the default inverted camera & try to fix it. Just a suggestion.
I thought camera is related to the kernel??

the issue is sdcard mounted with owner and group as root root I managed to read that through... I think somewhere some script mounts sdcard as root root..

X-Reality engine for UB's.. oh yea..this will work.

I AM HAPPY TO PRESENT YOU WITH A REAL WORKING X-REALITY ENGINE FOR XPERIA DEVICES..​
{This mod is for pre 4.4.2 (any firmware version lower than 14.3.A.0.681) only. As Sony's KITKAT is much more sweeter now. yes they have removed the restriction of "no X-REALITY / BRAVIA ENGINE for unlocked boot-loaders" from KITKAT. ( Kissess Sony.. )
So from now, U will have to flash this mod, only if you are on pre-KITKAT firmwares. And please dont mess up with kitkat firmwares.}
GUYS.
Many of you have unlocked your xperia's bootloaders by now for your custom rom love..(i had it done on second day after purchase of my zx1, and its only a week old now, thanks to TA BACKUP).
One of the sad thing u will ever realize after bootloader unlock will be a non functioning X-Reality/Bravia engine and it is due to the drm protection being lost, though the files are there for its working.
So the question is can it be recovered if we patch the drm check??? the ans is yes!
That's why i promise you this mod will work.
This mod contains files for X-Realty engine BASED ON XZ1 14.2.A.1.136 FIRMWARE and patch files to patch the DRM check... Also you will figure out that this X-Reality engine will have some difference in colour saturation level than what you find in other mods or previous BRAVIA/X-Reality engines. I personally prefer it becoz it does not hurt eyes that much, and have good balance with colour-contrast ratio.
What you will need
1. An xperia device ( checked it on xperia z and z1 ) with stock or stock based rom ( dont know about custom roms or other devices, but it wont hurt you to give a try)
2. Unlocked bootloader ( well, you wont be needing this if u r on locked bootloader, although u can use it in lb too)
3. CWM/TWRP recovery or any recovery you use like phills advanced touch recovery.
4. Patience ( will tell you later, why you need it!)​
Steps
1. Reboot into your recovery
2. Backup your system ( not needed exactly, but its always good to keep a backup, in case the sky falls!)
3. Flash the zip.
4. Reboot and enjoy the X-Reality display​
Now the patience part....AKA checking if its working
1. Go to SETTINGS>DISPLAY and turn on X-Reality/Bravia engine if it is not turned on
2. Collect some brightly coloured pic from somewhere on web, or from your collection on your pc( recomended to find some HDR pics, having good sunlight/brightness and a verity of colours like red's ,blue's, yellow's, green's etc. and transfer to your phone/sd.
3. open album(Sony album preferred) and locate the pics.(full screen pics on landscape are pretty good to see the effect).
4. If its a high resolution pic, it will take a second or two to load the pic( u will see the pic edges will smooth out when it loads). Give it another second or two to make the X-Reality effect to load.(this time you will see the colours getting more saturated, and the contrast increasing)
5. Thats all.. Enjoy the X-Reality engine on your movies and photos.​
I take no credits, as this is not my work, this is the work of Sony Engineers, and the patch files , which i use in this package is obtained from XDA itself, and is the result of hard work of some XDA member ( Sorry i forgot whom e's for mentioning his name, as i got it before long time).
I just took all of them together, from XDA and newest XZ1's firmware, combined and checked if every thing is working. And sharing it with you.
I have analysed the "SwiqiMasterReset.apk" which is used to load the x-reality engine. And i found out this( well its not new,nor what you people have heard of).
If somebody who have a problem with the working of this mod, please add these lines to your build.prop.
ro.service.swiqi2.supported=true
persist.service.swiqi2.enable=1
ro.service.swiqi3.supported=true
persist.service.swiqi3.enable=1
Thats really needed for the working of bravia or x-reality. These lines are normally found in stock or stock based roms unless your rom dev have removed it.

Flashed it, but i don`t really recognize any difference, it loads its sharpness of the picture but i cant see any colours or contrast improvements or so after next couple sec, Either i`m to blind to see that, it loads to fast or it doesnt work for me ^^ Anyway Thanx

So if u loose bionz, u probably dont have camera working. And there are rumours like it wont work if u unlock bootloader ( yap its true if u havent updated zx1 to 4.3 before unlocking bootloader, sony themselves cleared it in there bootloader unlock Code request page).
If some doesnt see any xreality enhancement, sorry but i cant help u in seeing it. No offence, but some already told that they cant even notice the diff in turning it on and off in sony offical firmware,with locked boot!!!! Lol what can i do to make them belive!

even if i dont have TA backup, I can get x-reality to work again? if so, that is cool

does it? thats one new knowledge for me, i have unlocked bootloader, after updating 4.3. Does any one confirm it yet? well sony haven't said that, ..... oh wait .. i will relock my boot now with TA(and post any result). I noticed a colour change in superior auto mode when under lowlight condition. on 4.2, it seems much better, but on 4.3 it seems like having a purple tint in same mode. let me check.

ya, for deodex, well u can use in odex rom too, i am using it in odex rom, just delete the .odex files too for the apks and jar files from system and framework folders, and then copy. it will work.

the xreality will work, and about the drm, i dont think so, coz the patch is probably from an old model sony phone. and may be the keys will be different, but bro.. seriously i cant check.. coz i have a working camera.. i unlocked after update!!!. also about your camera.. well pls ask it in your rom's thread. or may be some day we XDA'ns will find a solution for those who lost the cam.

I can make odexed version from yours tho. Anyway, big thanks for your work!

move it from \system\app\ to \system\, reboot into recovery and vipe dalvik+cache, boot system, check no errors, move application from \system\ to \system\app, reboot, check
