lol too bad u r confused with too many roms... i suggest u can use barebones or cm7 its nice ... cm7 nightly has some few quite well build nightlies..... can check out in development section for a thread called best nightlies.... choose according to them.. personally i am using barebones one enjoy
check the last page of the cm7 thread in defy development section, rc1.5 is out!
sent from my cm7 defy...
I've been using Galnet MIUI and i'm very satisfied . I tottally recommend it. It's stable.
I'm also using the V6 supercharger script.
Since i bought my Defy i have tried several ROMs. CM7, MS2Ginger, MotoGinger, Leaked stock 2.3.4...
But still looking for one without bugs... MS2Ginger was ok, but couldn't create social account in the moto blur. Now i am with the stock 2.3.4 that i imagine that motoblur should work, but can even login or create de Blur account. Maybe the problem is me, not the ROM. I think i gonna try MIUI once...
There is a good topic in the development section about chosing de best (right for you) ROM, take a look...
Until now my favorite ROM is MotoGinger !
A majority will agree its CyanogenMod , no matter what rom they're on.

what's this v6 supercharger script ? and wht does it do actually ?
used the leaked defy+ 2.3.4-134 ginger on defy for about 2 month, fast and stable.
before flashing you have to look which camera-module/lense (red/green) is build within your defy
CM7.....forever
i think it wouldn't be easy to answer the original poster's question without knowing what he expects from a good rom (why does 2.2 suck for him?)
I personally use the WajkIUI. I like it because it has the pleasant underpinnings of MIUI and it incorporates a lot of things that improve the stability and functionality (e.g. CM7's camera)
I don't particularly think that it's the perfect rom though. Then again, nothing is.
I get FCs on some apps and there is a possibility that CM7 could be faster. However, i have the impression that CM7 consumes life a little bit more quickly.
will cm7 Overclock or Underclock my defy ?

You can still use CM7 as it is a stable rom and keep it at 800 MHz by going to CWM and changing the default back to 800 MHz

Almost all the custom Roms I know are OC'd to 1ghz or more, if you insist on an untouched basic interface then perhaps a stock 2.2 rom is your only option. But as stated above custom Rom's can also be Underclocked to 800 MHz much to your preference.

Are u a total noob or a troll? The only way to go from Eclair (or wurev u have) to Froyo is a whole new rom. They are entirely different versions of the os. U will have to find a rom that is similar at best. As far as the Sense clock goes.. either put on a Sense rom or download Beautiful Widgets.

So polite.
There's no Gingerbread for Defy, the only attempt to do is CM7, in beta stage (don't use if you really need your phone for normal use). And probably a official 2.3 will never be released. That are only one official Froyo for Defy, from Korea, and many leaked Froyos from everywhere. I suggest you to try 3.4.2-155-002, it's the most stable at the time, with good speed. If you want custom ROMs, try Jboogie BlurGinger at first, when you are confortable with the proccess of installing custom ROMs, try Barebones and xd1.
Is there any word about froyo coming and when
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
either 3.4.2.155-002 or 3.4.2.117 (2.2.2) its fine for my experience CM7 another alternative for 2.3 but need to stable
What about this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvM20jfekfM
if flashing it makes my phone make that racket i dont want it ROFL
i might be a total noob, but afaik cm is not possible for the defy because of the locked bootloader, right? or am i missing something here? oh and btw i use 3.4.3-11, no problem so far, processor speed is about 60%+ compared to the stock eclair

I prefer 2.2.1 at 2.3.3 cm7 , more stable , gingerbread is useless , what have more to froyo ? none ^^

Just look at improvements in benchmarks after official gingerbread update.

Why guys do you think, that there will be no official update to Gingerbread for Defy?
Well.. clues show that the leaked Gingerbread builds are accrued trough development of a new device whioch seems to be named "Defy+".
I think I've read that summer 2011 motorola will bring out a cheaper version of defy which hasn't got the lp67 feature. So rugged but not waterproof or something like that. maybe the leaked rom is written for that defy?
Possible. As today we are only able to speculate.

Hello
I've stop counting after 2000 hours spending flashing roms on my defy...
I came to a conclusion that no ICS/JB version will be good. everything I've tried eventually ended up with a slow rom that interfere daily use.
so I'm a bit disappointed about it cause I had to get back to CM7.2.
I've searched all over the net - what is the fastest rom for defy...and all forums say it's the CM7.
If someone can think of other version that works faster please let me know.
I really need FAST phone, and willing to flash an old rom, but to get stability and speed.
thanks for helping!
and thanks to all dev's that gave their souls in order to bring the newest rom to that old phone.

I tried V5 and V5.1. Both are based on Quarx 0409. V5.1 is supercharged, and is slower then original Quarx.
Rom has AOKP weather icons and some tweaks and cherries. Apex is default launcher, battery life is worst than original.
There are 3 versions for defy+, normal, overclocked and undervolted.
Good rom but latest Quarx`s nightly is much fluid.
Developer of this rom (Defy +++ from Androidhilfe) will released next version based on latest Quarx in couple few days.

True, true, you're right: it's pre-alpha. And I was talking about Nikez JB P10.
As a 'normal user' of P10 I am very satisfied with this ROM and I do have some experience with other ROM's (not only Sandvold). Only a few things (thing?) does not work. Also, the forum-thread of Nikez JB P10 reads (almost) same opinions - if you filter the problems with installing 3d party scripts.
Even remarks as 'worht beta' can be read.
My suggestion is user-to-user (SeeZaar), from my point-of-view as a Desire-JB P10 user.
Cheers!

for stability and speed i would heartily recommend redux2-31.08-test which is a stripped gingerbread rom which i used exclusively for over a year. it has a wicked pull-down notification bar full of custom shortcuts. very stable despite the test title.
if you're looking for an ICS flavour i'd agree with earlier recommendations for spaze dog. i found it a bit more complicated to install successfully but once up & running it's been faultless.
hope that helps.

Hi jlazkano
I'm pretty new to this rooting/custom rom party but i loaded Cyanogenmod 9 onto my HTC Wildfire s and althought this biuld is technically still in alpha i think, its stable and its my daily rom. Had no problems with it, very pleased.
androidadvices . com have a really good tutorial on how to get it onto the device.
Hello,
I've tried both CM9 and CM10 and I think CM10 is better. First it is nearly stable. Second it is twice faster than CM9 (even more, but I don't know if the word thrice exists in English ). And third... it 4.1 Jelly Bean ! With Google Now, the amazing notification bar, and... the little 4.1.2 in the "About phone" section
Good unlocking and enjoy !

Which ROM are you using ? I can say that CM10 ROMs have emerged as a beauty now
They are a lot faster and stable now. Well, of course you will have to use MIUI camera and stuff like that to make all the possibilities of the phone to work I mean, camera won't work like stock. There... I said it. Camera won't be good in any of the CM10/CM9 ROMs . But you will have an advantage like you can use the latest of Android. You can mod it anyway you want it to. And regarding the lag that you have mentioned, I guess that will happen when you use init.d scripts for INT2EXT and stuff like that. When the number of apps increases then depletes the internal storage making the phone slower.
Well, i still have to say that the GB ROMs are best for our phone. I mean , its flawless. Everything works , including camera. You can add flash support if you want to (You gotta be rooted to do these stuff). Battery is also good.
For those who are bored by the GB look and feel, CM ROMs are for you guys. I mean , if you don't use camera at all , then CM ROMs are prefect for you. Djolivier's marvelous ROM is a Good-To-Go ROM . It gives you a balanced battery + Performance. He has added the Aroma installer in it which makes you the one who customizes it as per your need.
And could you give me an advice or link to a single thread that will help to install this new jelly bean on my HTC Wildfire S if possible, I've never done this kind of thing before.
