Has anyone else noticed that the gmail is missing the notification settings and if this was an update to the app or to the system
They're not missing. You just have to go to settings-> your email now. Notification settings should be at the bottom of that list. They just rearranged some things in the update.

But it looks like they removed the vibrate settings, and I usually have my phone on vibrate during the day

They're not gone. I swear they're not. Lol. Settings->your account->labels to notify (at the bottom)->Inbox. Vibrate, ringtone options and such can be found there.

I'm just trying to see what ppl think.
I use handcent sms and have the reminder set on every 2 minutes. I just wanted to know if this is drains thebattery. I'm pretty sure it does affect the battery but I'm not sureif its really that bad..

I use handcent and froze the stock mms apk. And I also have two reminders set to go off every 2 minutes for messages. It doesn't seem to affect my battery life too much

Actually I froze with root uninstaller.
But I'm sure ether one will do fine , you can even just delete the apk since handcent doesn't depend on the system messaging app

If u get widget locker:
It allows you to use the notification pulldown while locked. When i started using handcent i missed that slide to read. but now i can just pull down the pull down and click any notifications
Also if u delete the stock mms. It makes MMS not go through.

Actually I deleted it and MMS have gone through perfectly a couple 30 times since I've deleted it.
There's an option in handcent to handle both mms and sms.

I personally use goSMS, but they're pretty much the same thing, but I noticed I had a lot of wakelock on spare parts when using handcent. On goSMS, I haven't seen it(yet).

There is a setting somewhere in Facebook that lets you turn off text notifications completely

I would love to know if there is a solution to this too. They only allow you to turn off message notifications for 1 hour, or until 08:00 - they clearly think that message notifications should be essential for everyone.

Not from the phone, but a pc, you have more notification control that you can pick and choose notifications. Account > settings..

Open the phone application, then tap the settings button to the left of the home button. Then choose "Call settings." From there you want to select "Call alert." From that menu uncheck "Alerts on call."

Oo sorry for confusing you by right clicking I meant the menu key
Settings/sound vibration on ring- uncheck.
Also on same screen -open vibration intensity and slide rhe bars all rhe way left and you should take care of your issue.

Did you read the first post dude? We don't want to eliminate the vibration all together, just eliminated while on a call.
I downloaded Google plus app yesterday and I was getting all the notifications but after I used the 'power saving' mode of Samsung I haven't been getting notifications at all. I went to the app and switched notifications off and on again but nothing. Any help is appreciated

G+ settings and go change your notification settings..
I did and everything was selected. However my notification for xda is not working either now. I do get notifications for my emails. What can I do if some apps are not notifying me?

Uh that's just odd. Maybe try clearing your cache/dalvik and rebooting.
If your settings are fine, then there's something else either blocking them or bad cache/data memory.
I'll try that right now
