I`ve installed LauncherPro plus on stock 2.2.2, but when i change wallpaper it doesn`t look so good, the transition between the collors are too visible, and thats the problem with some widgets (Fancy Widget). I also had this expirience on MIUI, but not on CM7...
Here's the picture ...

i cant see it being launcher pros fault, looks like your phone is running at a lower colour depth for some reason.
I remember having similar issues back on froyo. This occurs when you use the stock 'gallery' app to set wallpapers (which IIRC is what menu -> wallpaper will use). The solution is to use literally anything else to set your wallpaper. Wallpaper Set And Save by Onarres Solutions is a good one for wallpapers you have stored on your phone. For other online wallpaper, I have used Zedge and HD Wallpapers with success.
Or the wallpaper chosen is small in size/resolution which got stress up to fill up the defy screen.

But I don't have this problem on adw launcher, or stock miui, or stigma gingerbread. Only on LP.

Try: Preferences>Advanced Settings> and then enable "High quality scrolling". Maybe this solves your problem
Still the same... :/
Might be the problem I had. When you set the wallpaper, drag the orange box to cover the entire image.

Just wondering if anyone can tell me how to set up a HQ Wallpaper ?
i've been searching n the forums and just found one thread somewhere but no good answer for it.
if i want to set a wallpaper from my gallery , the DHD crops the Photo/Picture and i get a part of my desired wallpaper as background (yeah even when the wallpaper has been resized to match the resolution on the dhd that damn thing still wants to crop -> very blurred , not even close to sharp picture)
tried wallpaper set and go from the android market -> failure
tried flikie from the market -> failure
is ist even possible to have good images as wallpapers (except for the included stock ones and live wallpapers) ?
any help would be appreciated
Make sure you original Image is 480x800
Go Market and get "Crop Wallpaper" App.
The App allows you to choose the image as "Wide" or "As Is in its resolution.
Cheers
Works Perfect thanks a lot

Why do lwps make adw so choppy? Its so annoying that I'm kind of forced to use a normal wallpaper unless I want choppyness. The stock launcher, 2.3 launcher, and touchwiz work perfectly fine with them. Is there some option or something to make it work better?

Why can't ADW just work well? I use stock. Try contacting Anderweb and convince him to stop wasting his time.

haha, amen.
ADW has never worked for me on any devices I've owned that used it. I do like that you can get pretty deep into the settings, but unfortunately, none of those settings seem to be able to remedy the choppiness and general lag (at least for me). the only setting that ever made a noticable difference for me was disabling the wallpaper hack (or enabling? whatever the opposite of what it is by default is). I am not on the development side of things, but I feel like with these launchers, the more feature-packed they are, the more buggy they are.
launcher pro was so much smoother for me, but it force closed, again on multiple devices, every time the phone booted.. and I don't like that.
I finally went to virtuous and am giving it a shot with its stock launcher... no issues thus far. of course going to a sense rom isn't really a solution to your problem. I'm getting used to it but I do miss CM.
Don't get me wrong, adw is VERY smooth (adw ex at least) but lwps just slow the bujeezus outta that thing. I don't really use them often but I mean really. Stock has no lag or choppyness, neither 2.3, neither touchwiz, neither sense. It seems that all launchers that come with the phone work fine with live wallpapers but not market ones. I tried launcherpro, adw, adw ex, and go and they were all pretty incompatible with live wallpapers.

Interesting... You are on a G2 or Desire Z I suppose?
I am, and I found all launchers to be smooth up to very smooth on my device, with the 'Grass' live wallpaper set. I am running the latest nightlies of CM7.
Of the different launchers, GO Launcher was 'worst' in app list scrolling and Launcher Pro's shortcut bar just doesnt appeal to me. Zeam is very cool as well, but doesnt offer widget resizeability. So for the time being I'm stuck with ADW, which is very very smooth both in homescreen swiping as well as (vertical) app list scroll orgies.
Where does your setup differ from mine? Do you have a lot of background tasks (FB, Twitter, ...) or a taskkiller or similar at work?
...I almost forget: or a lot of widgets? Animated content? Semi transparent widgets or the likes...?
I have fully transparent widgets to fit my theme and I am using the paginated app drawer. When I scroll in the paginated drawer, it is very choppy. Also scrolling on the desktop is choppier than usual and the app drawer animation is EXTREMELY choppy. I am using adw ex.

Anyone know goog tool to resize wallpapers to fit my Archos 101?
If selecting new pic from gallery, it goes blurred when set to wallpaper and most of picture is 'outside' of visible backround.

good wallpaper an archos gen 8 is a pain, the stock wallpaper system does indeed zoom your pics and looks blurred (slightly better on png than jpgs) , you can try over laying you own pics onto a larger canvas putting it sort of top right but i find this very hit and miss 2 apps can solve your problem but both have issues .
multipicture live wallpaper is one way and can give excellent results if set up correctly. You can have single picture for all home screens (works best if scrolling disabled) or a dif picture for each home screen which i find a bit slow. However the drawback is battery usage, and delay when coming out of heavy use app like browser.
The other one is crop wallpaper app which has centering issues on most launchers but works quite well on go launcher ex but has issues crashing quite often, at least on my 70 250gb ! i have tried them both with very impressive homescreen results but have gone back to stock wallpaper in favour of stabilty and superior speed
good luck
hello, just wondering if having multiple launchers with apps / widgets etc will drain battery or slow phone down? if i am in one launcher and using wifi, then go to another launcher without switching wifi off will it still be running in background somewhere??
Multiple launchers can cause phone slowdown and in turn, use more battery. Why do you need multiple launchers? If you don't like sense flash a new ROM and be done with sense crap

not too sure, i am on a cyanogen nightly, and facied having different home screens, without having to change the theme or rom and then set my settings up. i think cyanogen has adw or something, then go launcher is supposed to be great and holo launcher offered something else (this is going from the descriptions... i have downlaoded them, but not configured yet as thought would ask the above question first...
I've used Holo launcher beforw and I think its pretty good, decent customization options & not resource heavy. Never used Go Launcher before, so can't really comment. CM uses ADW which, personally, I believe is one of the best launchers out there (although I prefer Zeam; uses less battery power and is slightly quicker).

If you mean will wifi still be running, then yes, it should be. It should only switch off if you tell it to.
You can see some launchers on my site if you'd like to get some ideas of how they look.
I use MIUI roms which come with the MiHome Launcher, which is beautifully smooth. (I prefer the 3D Cube animation style.)
I also run Wave Launcher which is designed to run over the top of all other launchers or apps. I totally recommend it for any-screen-you-are-on, quick shortcut convenience.
I don't experience any slow down or battery drain.
Of course the more animations, and other moving eye candy you have, the more work the CPU has to do (CPU cycles). The more work the CPU has to do - the more it uses the battery.
The same applies to live wallpaper, GPS, watching video, keeping the screen on, etc.
I'm an Xperia S user btw.
This is just wrong, I'm wondering why I can't find other people talking about this problem. Am I really the only one having it?
The problem is that once you've changed the lock screen wallpaper, it will never be the one that is automatically activated when you set your theme. I had this issue on ICS.
Then I got an update to JB and the lock screen wallpaper was again the one that is associated with the theme that is activated. Later I decided to try changing the wallpaper again after doing it on ICS the last time and.. the same problem arose.
Whenever I change my theme, the lock screen image doesn't react.
How can I get rid of this problem? Is it even possible?
Thanks.
i have that
there is no fix
i just copy my wallpapers from the system to my sdcard and select them through the album
the images can be found somewhere in /system/etc
