I posted at cyanogenmod.com with no responses... I have cyanogenmod 7 installed on my incredible 2.
I noticed in google maps that the blue triangle wasn't facing the correct way. I then opened google sky map, and the sky goes the wrong way when I move the phone. ie. when i pan across the sky to the left, the stars on the screen go left (instead of going right, appearing to be in the same place in the sky)
Is this happening to anyone else? Is there a way to calibrate it? or is this a bug with cm7?

Known bug with AOSP ROM's.
Sent from my Incredible 2 3D using XDA App
Also was a bug on stock froyo but fixed in gingerbread. I'm going to guess that HTC's incomplete release of source code has hampered aosp's abiity to get it fixed

Does this screw up Navigation as well? I imagine it would. Been wanting to try CM7 on my inc2. I can deal with arrows pointing the wrong way or sky map not working right, but I use navigation way too much for work travel.

No, navigation works just fine. It will work while you are moving, but once you're stationary people have reported the compass being backwards. I personally have used navigation on CM7 many times without a hitch.

I believe it does screw up nav... IIRC, someone was saying that on another forum. I haven't seen the issue on any of the Sense ROMs though, so try out one of those.

I used the nav earlier it works while driving. The only time it messed up is when I stopped at a gas station for a few minutes. As soon as I started moving again, it corrected itself.
But why is it backwards? Only aosp roms ..

I have used cm7 since i rooted my phone and never had an issue with navigation being wrong. yes the compass is backwards when stationary but i never use directions or navigation when im standing still.
Navigation works correctly. It's just when you're not moving, the blue triangle is facing the wrong direction.
The bigger issue is google sky map not working...

any news on this?
It's a conspiracy linked to the rotating SOFT keys issue in AOSP ROMs.
edit: not hotkeys... damn work
FYI, there's a bug for this on the cyanogenmod bug tracker. Defect ID 4413
Go "star" it so that the devs know how many people want to see this fixed.

Can Anyone help here, Info of Google is limited or am using wrong Key words,
My Previous phone was the N97 and perfect Keyboard, Long Space Bar!!!!
This phone regardless how much i try i cannot Stop hitting that Full Stop key,
Everything els is Perfect,
Is there any mod? hack tweak app or anything to remove that Full Stop key to the right hand side of the space key :-(
lol
Thanks
I don't know of any such hack. The Americans would call that a "period" instead of a full stop
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
there are many keyboard replacement options. personally i didn't like on screen keyboards at all until i started using swype. beat one out there i've used
Heh, that's ironic! Saying how good a keyboard is, and the auto-correct gets it wrong!

Rofl.. well played I always hit the fullstop. Its getting on my nerves too lol, not sure why though.. im not used to any other touch screen phones besides HD2 and that has the same keyboard pretty much lol
Who said anything about it being correct? I was giving the OP another term to search, full stop

I looked and looked and looked and could not find anything,
Maybe one day,
But in the hunt i come accross swype (Also noticed someone els post they use it in this thread)
Wow!!! very good very easy looks like i may of overcome my issue lol
The full stop instead of space has been bugging me for ages as well. Just trying out new keyboard from market called swiftkey beta. Seems better so far but no double tap space for a full stop might become a problem instead...
Swype in landscape moves the space bar to the side by the way

The purpose is to enjoy the progress. They don't want bug reports because we are all aware of the fact that there are bugs, that's the nature of the beast. Today's build will have different bugs than tomorrow's, if we posted every lit bug that we experience then, well there would be no time to build, the team would just read bug reports all day. Over the course of time the team fixes bugs that recur and when enough things have been worked out they release an RC.
So....enjoy!
Thunderbolt!
So we don't have nightlies yet, and this thread is in anticipation of the merge?

They are nightly build tests - nothing more. It tests the current state of the code repository, to make sure the build isn't broken. Users wanted to see them, so we share them.

I didn't know we had a nightly build section or I would of been posting here.
I am currently running full-3 and I have been having issues with using the phone overseas. I am in japan on softbank and it is not picking up any signal.
The signal is wcdma and on the stock rom I could set it to that and get phone/sms but no data. I added the correct apn (after trying to get it to work properly) and I am still not getting anywhere.
Another thing I am worried about is the whole activate your phone part. When I flash it, it always has the activate screen and no matter what it will not activate so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I hope not since I am not in the states so I can't just hop on the network and do it.
I'm on build 3 and my compass flips north and south in the maps application anyone else having this? I know it was in the stock rom but its fixed in the gb leak.

Anyone else having any of the following issues?
- Home button does nothing at all (even holding it down)
- Volume buttons wake device (even though the setting for this is disabled in CM Settings)
- Cannot seem to enable the standard lockscreen at all (even when I enable a password or pattern lock - it just wakes up at the home screen or wherever I left off)

I'm not sure if this was asked already but, I was wondering If someone could fix the multi touch issues of the mytouch slide. It has the same exact problem as the nexus one/htc desire etc etc.
Problem -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzhUzq6bTPg&feature=player_embedded
The LG optimus one seems to have a work around for it and i was wondering if someone could bring that workaround to our phone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ur9n9pQUAg

I really wish i could solve it haha, and yea crazy stuff like that happens sometimes. Multitouch is definitely also a problem with 3d shooting games. I was actually hoping a dev try to fix this problem. If there is a fix/workaround for other phones, then its definitely possible on this phone.
Nothing you can do. It is the sensor in the phone. It was never meant for multi-touch

I'm not sure if you've clicked this link that was posted in the OP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ur9n9pQUAg, but it shows a clearpad2000 device with a mostly fixed multitouch axis. According to the OP in this thread, its done by inverting the inverted axis http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933686
I was checking out those links. Seems that those fixes are only half working.
It really is a hardware problem. They're just recompiling the kernels to clean it up so that it looks like it works properly, but even in the videos it's evident that there's some messing up. If I'm reading right, our phone probably has the same controller as the G1 and N1. And newer phones don't have the problem because they have better hardware.
Yes I realize this is a hardware problem and that this is not a complete fix, but its better than not having any kind of fix at all.
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using Tapatalk
I had the same problem, was really annoying when playing multitouch games like PewPew because it would sense your fingers opposite of where they were and the axis locked during multitouch which makes fine movements impossible. The newer 4 and 5 point multitouch screens perform way better.
I take no credit for the ROM. If you want to check out a smooth AOSP ROM, this might fit the bill.

The only serious issue I'm having with this ROM is the dialer. Usually when I type the first few letters of someone's name, it pops up. On this dialer, all I get is numbers. Am I missing a setting/option somewhere to change this?

I don' recall AOSP dialer ever doing that, but I could be wrong. To view contacts you just select the contacts tab. I know the Sense dialer does that.
I've been running this ROM for a couple days now, it's great. The only bug I've found is the normal reversed compass orientation, which is a bit annoying but doesn't effect driving navigation at all.
Other than that, everything else (MMS, etc) is working fine. For users wondering what it's like, think CM7 running LauncherPro instead of ADW, and you're pretty close.

Sounds to me like you're used to using the Sense dialer. I don't think the stock AOSP dialer does that.
I replaced the default dialer with "DialerOne", which is free on the market. Take a look if you like this ROM but want to maintain your Sense dialer functionality.

I am trying to figure out how to add 180 degree rotation. I am on the wicked x7.3 Rom. I love the Rom, would like to add this for when I use navigation. I charge the phone when using nav and put the phone in my cup holder. Can't place it the right way due to the charging cord. Anyway, it did work with the xposed firmware, however I was getting SystemUI process. When making and receiving phone calls.
I don't have enough posts to post on the wicked Rom page.

under wanam Xposed, then under system, then under enable all rotation including upside down (about halfway down)
Not sure about wicked, but yea, xposed with wanam does 180. I'm not having any issues though, with running xposed/wanam.
You may want to try Nova launcher? That'll get you a rotating home screen...

Again, it works when I do this, but then the phone calls get messed up. I found some old post with a file to put in the build.prop. it did nothing for me though, nothing changed.
To 180 degree
windowsmgr.support_rotation_180=true;
maybe the code is different with this ROM, I have no idea.

what exactly happens with your phone calls cause i have it working with wanam in xposed and my calling is good
edit: re read your OP does this happen when your phone is upside down? or in every direction?
I am currently using APEX, it also allows home screen rotation, but it only goes to landscape, not 180 degree. I will try to install NOVA later tonight or tomorrow and see. Thanks for the idea!
com.android.systemui or something like that. I can re install and let you know if you need the exact. This is when I hit the dial button or when I receive a call. I can't answer for several seconds until the screen refreshes.
It happens in any direction.
I have to wait 5 min between posts I guess, So my responses are slow, I apologize.

So I went back and unchecked everything I could in Wanan, then checked lock screen rotation and enable rotation, then installed with Xposed. Now all is well. I will do one thing at a time now on and test as I go.
There were several things checked by default I think? So something was corrupting the UI I guess. I will update if something changes, thanks for all the input.
