No audio... help! - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So this morning, after my usual flashing of the latest Cyanogen nightly, I noticed that my Inc was no longer putting out any audio. Without thinking twice I recovered the previous nightly, but I'm still getting no sound from notifications/ringtones, music or alarms. Thanks in advice for any suggestions.

Update: I plugged my phone into my stereo and am getting audio again, but still not from the phone itself when I unplug it again. This leads me to believe it to be a hardware issue, which is probably not an easy fix. Should I start looking for a new phone? I use it as my alarm and I need to hear my ringtones because I don't always feel it on vibrate so it's not very useful to me now...

I'm seeing a similar behavior. I have audio until I use a BT headset. Once one has been used, I lose all audio from the phone speaker (even after the BT headset is disconnected). I'll have to try a wired headset to see if the audio is redirected. Only a reboot will restore my audio from the phone speaker. If the headset supports A2DP, I lose all audio even through the BT headset.
Does a reboot fix your audio?

Reboot does not fix my audio. I figured out that it is a problem with the speaker itself, which is very easily replaced http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=799592
My audio works fine when plugged into my stereo or headphones, but is intermittent from the speaker. Apparently Incredibles are known to blow speakers?

[Q] Sat-nav audio in bluetooth headset

When I use my HTC bluetooth headset, the audio directions are played through the headset - I quite like this because, as we know, the DHD's external sound is rubbish.
Problem is, the sound through the headset keeps dropping out momentarily so I miss chunks of the directions - usually the first second or so.
Anyone have success getting this working?

[Q] Headphone Issues

I use my Desire HD for music playback and when using headphones I have strange problems.
I have used 3 different pairs of headphones with this phone spread over about 10 ish months. Each pair have headphones have been standard stereo headphones with no mic or in-line controls. The issue I get is something when I plug the headphones in they are recognized in the notification bar as headphones with mic (signified by the little icon) and other times just plain headphones which they are.
If they are recognized as having a mic, randomly while listening the phone will pause the music and ring the last called person in my call history.
I have no idea why they do this but it only happens when they are recognized as having a mic (which I'm 100% sure they don't). To get round this I unplug and plug them back in until they are recognized as just stereo headphones. This works for an hour or so of music playback until it will randomly recognize them as having a mic again and start calling someone.
As you can imagine this is VERY annoying.
Does anyone know why this is and how I can fix it?
Thanks in Advance.
I think I had this problem before. But it occurs when I use the stock htc handsfree. I could hear static noise and my phone will start to call the last called person. I don't know how I solved it, but i guess it is related with my jack-in or the snd3254 dspmode configuration. I'm not sure though.

I have never used the stock headphone since they sound pretty awful.
I do hope someone has a way of fixing this.

Audio Routing issue

recently i have been experiencing an audio issue that only seems to be fix itself after a reboot. hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction for further troubleshooting/debugging/resolution.
on occasion i use the headphone jack to listen to pandora. if a call comes in during this time the pandora audio stops (as it should) however, i cannot hear the caller via the earpiece or headphone jack. the only way i can hear them is if i unplug the headphones and turn on the speakerphone. once the call is ended the audio sometimes will resume from the headphone jack, sometimes it will not. the behavior is the same even if manually exit pandora and unplug the headphones. it is also the same if an incoming call does not interrupt the pandora session.
similarly, if i am listening to pandora on the rear speaker and i plug headphones in, i get no audio in the headphones. if i unplug the headphones the audio does not return to the rear speaker.
visually, the headphone icon in the notification bar comes and goes as you would expect at all times. i am running a sprint lovers 2.2 rom. this problem only recently started, and i don't believe i had done anything to cause it like installing new apps or anything of the sort.
can anyone help me out?

Bluetooth Audio One Sided

When I connect to media audio via bluetooth in my car, I can only get audio out of the left side speakers. This is repeatable on different apps that play music. When I play a radio station in my car I get sound out of both sides.
What can I check to help diagnose this problem and hopefully fix it?
Thanks.
Does anybody else have this problem?
Does your car audio system support A2DP stereo Bluetooth profile ? Probably it does, otherwise I don’t think you can stream audio with just the Hands-free (HFP) profile (which is a low quality link meant only for calls). Mine works fine in stereo with my car’s audio system. Try deleting all the BT settings from your car and initialize everything from the beginning.
Iam verry sure that your audio car not support A2DP because in my car i can use for stereo...try to see the specification for your car audio bluetooth..

It works fine when I use my Galaxy Nexus. This makes me believe it supports A2DP. This problem is unique to the One X for me. Did I get a bad phone?
Also, when I crank the balance over to the side that doesn't work I can hear it a little bit, but it's crackly and distorted.
EDIT: Problem solved. Re-seated the wiring in the sound system and everything is fine now.

[Q] headset problem

Hi there.
I'm facing an issue with my note 2 since a few weeks.
When i plug in a headset with mic to make a call, the sound isn't redirected through the headset, it remains on the phone speaker.
This is quite annoying and it used tk work perfectly. I noticed that during the call when i plug in/plug out the headset, the sound goes tbrough the headset , but only for like 1 sec, then back to speaker.
I've tried with 2 diff headsets.
FYI, during music and vid playing, the sound goes though the headsets. Really odd issue.
i also face the issue that when i activate the BT, and try to stream the music to a BT device, the sound goes back to the speaker.
It used to work also but not anymore. Its not a pairing issue, i've tried many times.
I guess both issues are connected. Any help to solve those problems would be appreciated.
THX
No one ?
bump cause i'm still facing the issue
