I deleted the HTC Gallery.apk accidentally using Root Uninstaller, but I want it back because now I get FC's when I am using the camera and then press the 'recent made photos thingy'..
Can I get it back by just installing the gallery.apk like a normal .apk? Or won't that work?
Can anyone help me with this?
I hav no idea about galary.apk but u can try quickpic from market
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.alensw.PicFolder&feature=search_result

Every time i open my gallery click on any folder to view photos it force closes. i am running on Fresh2.2 can some one help me fix this or provide the apk to reinstall it.
Are you running a theme? That was a problem when I flashed a theme over. Restore back before the rom , reflash fresh ( WITHOUT the theme ) if you have one.
Hello guys....
I've accidentally backuped and removed my stock ClockPackage.apk from my i8150...
I've tried to restore by the same app, but did not working.
I've also tried to copy back the original Apk (i've it in backup folder of Rom Toolbox), tried to install...but still nothing.
The odex file it is also still there...
So, for now i've just installed an alternative clock/alarm from market, and it is working (but have Ads!), but...there is a method to have back Clock app in app drawer?
PS:
And, pls... do not say "have you a nandroid backup"?
Yes, i Have, but i just want to know if there is a method to restore the app in few steps
[SOLVED]
Ok... solved, also if i do not know exactly how
For future references...
I had already bring the apk back to system/app, where is located also the odex file.
Nothing was happened, also after restart...
Then, i tried to install the clockpackage.apk from the AOSP gingerbread, and it gave me the same error (App not installed).
But, like in a miracle, after this, app is back to the app drawer
Happy ending!
have you change the permission when you push the apk in system/app ?
just want to ask

Great thread spino1970, mostly because I made the same mistake you did, lol...
Now I really need your help... Could you kindly attach the ClockPackage.apk and the odex file in this thread so that I can use it too??? Thanks a lot man!!! I was trying to get rid of those useless widgets and made a mistake...
[Update]
I managed to get the ClockPackage.apk and the ClockPackage.odex from another device (running on 2.3.5 instead of 2.3.6) and now I get the following error while trying to install the apk:
"Parse Error: There is a problem parsing the package"
Does anybody know what to do?
Hey Xda folks, sometime ago after i rooted my phone, I managed to somehow mess up smartshare
So I went and uinstalled it, now realizing that I only backed up the apk?
Not sure why, but everytime I try and install it, it fails - even if I put it in the system/app folder and gives it the right permissions.
So I was wondering if anyone could post the original smartshare.apk and odex if theres one?
Or alternative ways of installing it?
Thanks in advanced
Forgive me if this is a pointless question, but I'd like to know how to install the 4.2 Camera on a ROM? I apparently flashed the 4.3 Camera app and have been getting reboot issues with it (sometimes when I use the camera in apps like Instagram, it'll reboot when I try to take a photo) and the only fix (so far as I know) is to revert to the 4.2 Camera, but I don't know exactly how to go about getting that? Would anyone be able to help?
I had this problem before. Follow these steps:
0. Download the 4.2.2 Gallery2.apk
1. Use Root explorer or ES file explorer and navigate to system/app. Backup your current camera or rename gallery2.apk.bak .
2. Copy the Gallery2.apk
3. Restart your phone.
This should fix the problem. If you're still getting problems PM me and I will try to help.
Hi, I found this topic earlier because I am having the same issue as afrobull. I followed the instructions--thank you! I'm still getting reboots. I know the camera 4.2 installed and I got the "android is upgrading" message when I rebooted. Is there anything else? Thanks again for the first tip.

Have you fixed the problem? If not have you uninstalled the Camera APK, clear cache/data and deactivate the app? And then install the apk.
Hey everyone,
I uninstalled Google Search (google now) because I couldn't click on any of the settings on my stock, s-off, rooted and unlocked rom with flar2's kernel. I had a titanium backup of it, but restoring just the backup without any of the data did not work. Nor did restoring the app+data.
I reinstalled the application on the play store, but now I am having force close issues when I try to open it from anywhere. I know the original name of the application on our phones is Velvet.apk, but I can't recall if it was in system/app or system/priv-app. Does anyone know? If you could look and tell me, I would put the titanium backup apk into that folder and then install from there to see if that fixes the problem.
Please please please help! Google now is a huge part of my phone experience. It's really annoying because even after uninstalling it and reinstalling it from the play store, I still could not click on any settings. So stupid.
