You need to flash 2.15.00.11.19 radio first in recovery.

Try upgrading your bootloader (Hboot). You can go to
http://www.mediafire.com/?ff1duqhahwf23w8
and try that. Then go to
http://www.mediafire.com/?2pjq2dhjv6ntxnh
to download and then flash the radio. Then flash the S-ON tool if it is necessary.
See does that help.

Hey guys sorry took so long.
It was the hboot. I thought I remembered reading that eng bootloaders are always s-off. And they are.
So I upgraded to .93 and it went right to s-on.
Thanx for the help guys

[Q] Cannot UNROOT Evo

I have tried using the unrevoked s-on zip and it will not load thru the recovery.
I thought maybe since I downgraded back to stock rom that I didn't have unrevoked anymore so I flashed the PC36IMG. The "S" is still off.
Any ideas on how to unroot from here?
Sprint Rom:3.26.651.6 / PRL:1.90_003
HBoot: 001
S-off
Can you try root and then unroot? I had to do it same way for one of my friends. And I would get 3.70 before any atempts.

Well it would allow you to flash the S-ON tool. Technically right now you are partially rooted.
I will give 'er a go then... I'll let you know. thanks.

Also, when you say that the S-ON tool will not load in recovery what are you referring to? Is this after you ran the PC36IMG or before?
Please disregard the s-on, as I have unrooted successfully.

Unroot Help!

I just tried to unroot my htc evo. Initially I has S-OFF, so I applied the S-ON patch, this changed me to S-ON. I then tried to flash PC36IMG.zip from and I was getting Main version is older. It looks like I am running hboot 0.93.0000. Any help is appreciated.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780141
Which pc36img.zip did you download, from this link?

I downloaded the one in the thread. I was doing some searching and maybe this has to do with my hboot version? I was able to restore a nandroid backup, so I'm back at CM7, but I need to unroot so I can get the lcd on my phone fixed.
My buddy just unrooted his evo as well for the same issue, we just compared the radio and hboot version. Both are running hboot 0.93.0000, the difference is on the radio versions, mine is 2.15.00.11.19 his is 2.15.00.07.28. So is the "Main Version in older" error happening because of the radio version?

If you want to completely unroot just flash the s-on then run the ruu exe file. Make sure you have htc sync installed. It might be easier this way. Try running it in bootloader in fastboot mode. Just a suggestion......

So when you say completely unroot, will that cause me any issues on rooting again? I will want to root again once I get my phone fixed.

If you unroot you WILL be able to root again as long as you don't accept the OTA GB update. Accepting the ota will leave without root for good.....at least until a new method is achieved.

My current image version is 3.70.651.1 and this updater is for 3.29.651.5, i ran it and it doesn't let me go backwards.
Just run the 3.70 ruu.

I'm sure by now you have found out that yes, the radio version does make a difference, downgrade your radio to get the son.

Can not achieve S-ON!111

I am trying to return my Evo to sprint to pick up another 3D for my wife. I am trying to run the latest s-on tool 1.30 and it keeps giving me unsupported radio version. Anyone have an idea how to get this taken care of?
You flash the s-on zip in recovery, why are you getting errors?

It's not out yet, you can try using a 3.70 PC36IMG file.

I got S-ON but am going to need to get rid of the custom recovery now. ARGGHHHH|
You will have to flash the ota 3.70 PC36IMG.zip again to remove custom recovery.
Flashing that zip will unload the stock recovery.img.

How to turn S ON with alpharev HBOOT

Can someone please tell me how to turn S ON on my HTC Desire? I ran the RUU for my phone (US Cellular desire) and it put me back to stock, I just still have S OFF Alpharev. I've searched for a while and can't find anything. Any help will be appreciated.
What is your current HBOOT version?
I think you need to flash the hboot downgraded from the alpharev site. I would search first as I've seen this question asked before buy I'm not 100% on the outcome

Is it possible to go S-OFF without loosing anything on the desire ?

Not sure on that as this is the CDMA desire. unrevoked S-offs this on the older Hboots. Not sure how it works on 1.02 with Alpharevx but the standard hboots dont work I believe

Flash Downgrader first to unlock the hboot protection, then use corresponding RUU.

Yes, but you need a Rooted ROM with no a2sd/d2ext scripts.

i agree, we need to know how u root/s-offed ur cdma desire (bravoc), as the apharev hboots are only for desire gsm (bravo)..so u can't use the alpharev downgrader i think
post here ur bootloader hboot infos
Yeah exactly.
The S-on security flag is in Radio's NVRAM. Obviously the radio is different between GSM and CDMA devices.
Historically on GSM, Alpharev S-off (1.8 and lower) flashed a special hboot which ignored this flag.
On CDMA Unrevoked forever did something different and didnt change the hboot
Thanks for the replies everyone. My HBOOT version is 6.06.1002 ... hope this helps...

unfortunally, i think there is no way to go back to s-on with that hboot 6.x on the desire cdma
that hboot have a downgrade protection, so the ruu can't overwrite it
maybe you can try to change it manually, doing a "fastboot flash hboot hboot.img" using the hboot img file that you can extract from your ruu exe on your pc
Doesn't work needless to say. With unrevoked we could flash the h-boot and stay s-off with alpha-rev you can't. I was just trying this as I was bored using the uscc eclair ruu.
Fastboot doesn't work either gives error can not flash h-boot on the phone. Hopefully that helps you out.
Edit: By the way qb what you doing with a uscc desire anyway? You venturing away from the photon or something I seen you over there but at this time there is no way to flash it I have found. Making img files does nothing and neither does fastboot. I am tempted to try the downgrader for the bravo for the heck of it as I don't care to brick it. Cept the woman would shoot me.

That's funny, I have 0.76.2000. Works just fine for me.
That's your bootloader. If anything goes wrong with your phone and you can't get into recovery, the bootloader is your last resort.

There is no "newer" version. The version of ENG Hboot you have is the DZ version. Just as 0.76.2000 is the G2 ENG Hboot version.
