After flashing the KH3 beta firmware, the texts automatically go to SIM after roughly 50 messages yet there seems to be no way to change it? Ay possibility or will it require reflash?

This problem is solved by installing the correct csc file from pre-Configuration setting.
For example, if your csc is DBT, you need to set pre-Configuration to DBT after flashing.

forgive my ignorance, how would we do that?
edit: just flipped my csc onto DBT as that "supposedly" covers UK aswell as Germany etc, reset the languages back to English etc and see how that ends up

Correct setting in Pre-Configuration menu ensures that you benefit from all the local services offered by your network operator... network settings, language, keyboard, etc.
To set your csc, go to Pre-Configuration menu as follows:
On keypad enter this code: *#5239870*# => (Admin setting) 2 Pre-configuration => (Operator code; tap the blank space to pop up the keypad) *#27236*# => Done => Confirm => (CSC Pre-configuration; here select your csc) Install.
If you have installed with the OXA csc (S8500OXA), below is a list of countries and their corresponding csc files:
1. KOR = Default
2. SKT = Korea
3. XEF = France
4. XEO = Poland
5. XEU = UK and IRE
6. DBT = Germany
7. ITV = Italy
So if you are from the UK, your correct csc file is the XEU.

At least someone knows what they are doing cheers for the info

this issue can be solved just by hard reset after flashing,,,,thats it no need pre configuration

pre config saves a hard reset and achieves same ends, I guess just use whichever way your comfy with

Release: I9000XWJM7 - Multi CSC(s) Europe

Few facts about this version:
INTERNAL release (not official, obviously)
Version: 2.1 Eclair
Build time: 2010.08.18 15:36:06 KST
Changelog: Unknown
PDA version I9000XWJM7, MODEM version I9000XXJM3
All CSC versions are I9000???JM1 and unbranded, but CSC´s for specific operators (Vodafone for example) are included.
UI / Swype languages supported by XWJM7:
UI: Czech, Danish, Deutsch DACH , Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, Greek, Hungarian, Icelandic, Irish, Italian, Kazakh, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Slovakian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian
Swype: Croatian, Czech, Danish, Deutsch DACH ,Dutch, English, Finnish, French, Greek, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish
I have not modified the code in any way, although I have repacked the release to make CSC selection possible.
Usually Odin3 images are provided in a single integrated .tar package which contain all of the necessary files. This way the CSC cannot be selected separately.
That is why I splitted the release in three different parts (CODE, MODEM, CSC).
Since Odin3 has flashfile checksum support I also added md5 hash tail to the .tar files. This way is more secure because Odin will not allow flashing corrupted images. Flashing takes a bit longer thou because the checksums are checked in the beginning of the update process.
You need to download two files.
GT-I9000_I9000XWJM7_I9000XXJM3_CODE-MODEM.rar
CSC_I9000???JM1 (CSC of your selection)
I know this is not nearly all of the excisting variants, but repacking the softwares is quite a slow process for certain reasons. I have access to pretty much any Samsung firmware, so if you find a variant missing you can send me pm. I can have a look.
Here is the description of CSC´s (included country variants):

Extract the downloaded .rar archives to the same folder.
The archives are contain .tar.md5 files. Do not open them with Winrar for example. They are compressed Odin images which do not need unpacking.
So how to proceed:
Put your phone to download mode (hold down: volume down, home key, power)
DO NOT plug in your phone yet, Odin / driver does not like it at this stage.
Start Odin3
Tick "Re-Partition", check that "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" have been ticked.
Click "PIT" button and select s1_odin_20100512.pit file.
Plug in the phone and wait until Odin finds it.
Click "Start" button... <Firmware update start...> <Get PIT for mapping...> appear. The phone will turn off and the screen indicates "Reset". Wait until Odin indicates "Pass".
Plug out your phone, remove the battery, put it back in and put phone to download mode again.
Click "Reset" button in Odin and untick "Re-Partition" box.
DO NOT select PIT file again.
Click "PDA" button and select "CODE_I9000XWJM7.tar.md5" file.
Click "MODEM" button and select "MODEM_I9000XXJM3.tar.md5" file.
Click "CSC" button and select the desired version "CSC_I9000???JM?.tar.md5".
Plug in the phone and wait until Odin finds it.
Click "Start" button and wait until phone reboots with the new software version.
When using *Multi CSC* you need to type *#272*????# after the flash (in dialer). ???? being the current time displayed by phone. For example if the time is currently 6.25pm you need to type *#272*0625#. Then select the desired CSC version from the list and press "Install".
**Read this if you are downgrading from I9000XXJPC rom**
Requirements: Rooted phone, "Root Explorer" (or similar), .nv_data.bak and .nv_data.bak.md5 files (PRIOR the date of I9000XXJPC release).
Because I9000XXJPC rom rewrites certain thing in the permanent memory area of the phone, certain things CAN occur when you downgrade the phone to <I9000XXJPC firmware. It is possible that there will not be any problems at all, but if there is read below.
Possible problems (I had them all due trying different thing to solve it):
IMEI "corruption".
nv_data.bin checksum does not pass the check and the phone / baseband generates a new blank one. Baseband test IMEI (000xxxxxxxxxxxx) will be displayed.
No service.
There is no service even a functional SIM card is inserted.
You cannot receive or make calls, receive or send sms, etc (obviously).
Freeze / lock-down.
The phone will not react to anything besides pressing power key.
You cannot unlock the display to enter PIN code.
Wrong PIN code.
The phone will not accept any PIN code on any SIM (even the correct one ).
Phone displays "wrong PIN code" message even the try counter (three strikes you know) does not change.
Product code changed to KOR.
= Blocked Kies updates (without a registry "hack")
Here is how to fix any or all of them:
Downgrade to I9000XWJM7 firmware with Odin (as usual).
Remove SIM card from the phone (to be able to boot in first place) and start the phone.
Gain root access and install "Root Explorer" (or similar), ADB works too.
Open Root Explorer and go to the "EFS" folder in the root.
Check the date on .nv_data.bak and .nv_data.bak.md5 files.
If it is earlier than 08/26/2010 you´re clear, if it is later then you may stop reading.
Once the date has been checked, select files nv_data.bin and nv_data.bin.md5 simultaneously and delete (yes, delete) them. Reboot the phone.
Now your phone is in the same condition (atleast permanent memory wise) as it was prior I9000XXJPC update.
There is a safety feature I would call "a dead mans switch".
If the current nv_data files are deleted, the phone will make new nv_data files from the .bak (backup) files (if they excist). The new nv_data files will be signed automatically so they pass the checks (none of the errors listed above will occur). However if they do not excist, the phone will just write an empty / test file (= IMEI corrupted, no service, etc). Also if you just rename .bak files they will have wrong signatures and the same problems will occur.
Regards.

Ive tried this method on a vibrant and it works then i used Odin to go back to stock and now i have the stock firmware like when i bought it but when i power on the phone it still says its a gt i9000 then the vibrant boot screen. any idea how to erase the first boot screen of the i9000? even after going back with Odin it stayed. but im booting up with the vibrant ROM with no problems. plus the only way to get into recovery now is to use clockwork mod. any suggestions on how to fix this?
So whats new in this firmware?

The boot screen is stored in param.lfs file.
I guess the version of the Vibrant rom you updated does not contain that file.
Interesting ill look for that thanks.

While JPC was a LOT better than JP3, I still found JPC rather slow and unresponsive when compared to JM5 or JM1 with a lag fix. Too much debug code still in there.
Forget the Quadrant score unless you're using Advanced and looking at individual components.
I might flash JM7 later on and give it a quick spin. Worst case Nandroid JM5 goes back on ;-)
is it possible to use the CSC extracted from other flash package?
I just flashed JM6 a few days back so I am wondering how is this different/better?
Thanks again to the Red Baron.
Edit: The CSC_I9000OPSJG1.rar is corrupt and contains no data. Can the one from JM6 be used in its place?
I'm a bit confused. With Froyo 2.2 just around the corner, why for god sakes are people still working the bugs out of 2.1?????????????????????

This is a T-Mobile branded firmware.
Branding = Custom boot & shutdown animation (+ sound), custom alarm tone.
They can be easily removed by replacing the files (from unbranded firmware).
I am not going to do it due my epic hangover
The modem firmware has been updated from I9000XXJM3 used in my previous releases to I9000XXJM4 (final). This version should have some actual changes too (besides fixed typos in operator names).

i just updated my VF Galaxy with the i9000BUJM4 Firmware.
It was official to get without Testmode over KIAS.
So it should be official.
When i use SGS Info tool it shows me internal version, but i think this doesn't matter.

[Q]How to add a language to the csc file

Hi everyone
The thing I want to do is add my own language (for viewing and texting only) to the xxjk1 firmware
I have my own region files so I can copy files from it to the xxjk1 firmware
Does anyone know how can I do it?
(Is it possible after all ?)
By the way, you can flash JK1 firmware with CSC from your region (with your own language). But it must be CSC from any other firmware of Bada 1.2...
Have you tried it your self?
Is it ok to flash xxjd1 with a kc1 csc file from another region?
Yes, I often use it.
Thank you very much for the tip.
Now does anybody know the answer of the first question I asked?
thats totally wrong
just tried with XXJID and took CSC from JPKC1 and guess what happened
lost Arabic language
please find a way to fix it
I don't undestand what is wrong... I use it many times and it was working. As I said If you going to flash Bada 1.2 firmware, CSC is must be from other Bada 1.2 firmware.
Both firmwares are 1.2. so according to what u said it should work
But looks like it didn't work
Which two regions and firmwares are you yourself(baza 14) using?
Thanks for participating
For example I flashed FW JK1 with CSC from JL1 (XD region).
Oh you mean all from Europe??
i just flashed JK1 to make sure that it doesn't support Arabic too
@roostaamir
give it a try maybe it will work for you
i'll wait for ho1od until he succeeds in QMD Compression tools maybe it will fix that problem
Sorry but i don't have my wave in my own hands right now(it has a long story)
But if you can test this and share the results,I would be thanful:
Flash your phone with xxjid and the parts of jp firmware which have open arabic.each time with one of the jp files.(i mean first flash the factory-fs from the jp firmware and other parts from xxjid.then do this with pfs .... and so on)
Please tell me when will the arabic language will be in your phone.
(i mean which file caused the arabic language to be in your phone)
Thanks
that is a bad idea
i tried it before a got a really bad results
just wait for ho1od i think he will finish his tool in a few days
P.S. : Arabic language was there but appeared in squares shape (i think it is due to decoding of it) maybe your language will be another case
@mylove90 Yes, all from Europe. Maybe it is the problem.
The decoding of arabic language differ totally than european languages
that's the problem
as i now bada internal works with unicode, everything over is not important. i am a developer and we are trying to pass all string always in unicode to bada cause this is saveing the process to convert them. In my two apps i could add russian as normal letters without any problems.
The language i want to add is persian(Simillar to arabic)
What can i do?
Are u saying that there's no way to do it?
Or the new tool (being created by ho1od) can do it?
ho1od is developing Wave remaker : a small tool to make changes in the bada firmware files
CSC files (apparently contains language) have two parts the first one every one can extract it using trix and the other one is QMD compressed so no one extracted it until(as i know) now so i am waiting for ho1od to see what is in there
but i think there will be *.rsr files that contains language
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=984482
Next step after (de)compress, is *.rsr edit for Display Language.
No idea which files needed for Keyboard ...
But at this time not tested, because QMD...
Best Regards
any news anyone?

Though to the lack of the OXC csc in the new bada 2.0 firmware, I have uploaded the full S8500XPKG6_OXC_Bada 2.0
with socialhub premium activated. Remember, this OXC csc is for Spain, Portugal and Greece.
Just install, and go to Pre-configuartion setting, and select your csc.
That's all. Enjoy.

Thanks.

I left debug level on it's default; I did not change it. I have not noticed any crash so far so good. But it may be advisable to do so if crashes occur at random.
Read more on the observations in this new firmware here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193409

Hello Anyel06,
This firmware does not include Germany as it is for tOXC csc.
Just download the firmware from the link provided at the first page.
After installation, go to pre-Configuration setting and select the appropriate csc (e.g FOP for Movistar, YOG for Yoigo, etc). All the network setting will be done automatically. You don't need to do it yourself.
The pre-configurantion is ok, but I don´t said that. I said that in my gmail appears ip connections, from wich i haven´t connected, either in time or place.
This is the ip information:
IP address [?]: 195.124.9.242

IP address state: Hessen
IP address city: Frankfurt Am Main
IP address latitude: 50.1167
