Hey guys,
Is any bluetooth keyboard compatible with my galaxy s2?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Look at this -> http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-Keyboard-Samsung-I9100-Galaxy/dp/B004ZNN8IY
Video I made of Cheap bluetooth mouse, and Apple bluetooth keyboard connected to Galaxy S2 at the same time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXveu7ZHAcY
If the keyboard uses the HID profile it will be compatible (nearly all do).
hmm nice, somewhere i have a bt-keyboard flying around here, i will have to check it
Beside apple A1314 is there any newer bt keyboard that suitable to sgalaxy?
sent from my 2.3.3|dxjpe DJGTabs7

General Keys PA2563-675
I just tried a General Keys BT Keyboard PA2563-675, installed BlueKeyboard JP from the market and it's working fine
Has anyone tried a motorola bluetooth keyboard and mouse combination with the SGS2, as I think this would make a really nice comination?
I just bought a BT keyboard on eBay but even if the Android apk is provided with it, it doesn't work at all on my GSII
Did you buy the generic one you see everywhere eg. ebay.com/itm/Mini-Wireless-Bluetooth-Keyboard-PS3-Mac-PC-PDA-/270707723765?pt=PCA_Mice_Trackballs&hash=item3f07700df5
Or was it some other keyboard?

Can get it to see the keyboard and pair / connect, but not the mouse. It pairs but does not connect (litening rom)
On the CM7 rom, can get the mouse to connect, but not had chance to try the KB yet (will try this PM and try to report back later)
i have just read this post and thought I will give my keyboard a try. I have enabled Bluetooth, turned on my keyboard and run scan, keyboard appears on the list I could recognize device type by the icon. I pared the keyboard and it instantly started working, I could use ESC to go back to previous menu.
My keyboard was very cheap (5-10 Euro) and looks like this: Slim Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard

are you using a custom rom? i found some roms i could not pair via bluetooth properly and some roms worked perfect
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-Wireless-Keyboard-Touchpad-Nintendo/dp/B004KFFQ5K I want this but I want to make sure the touch pad works with the phone
I've been using it with my i9100 for months -- running KI3 (Gingerbread 2.3.5).

Hi,
Everything is in the title. I saw this News on androidcentral and they say
This is a brand new smartphone dock which serves not only as a charging station, but allows you to connect USB peripherals like keyboards and mice, and control your phone using good old-fashioned button-based devices.

This means we can't connect anything unless we have this dock right ? That's stupid everything is already in the phone, bluetooth, HDMI etc... Am i right ?
USB-OTG (for Memory Sticks, Keyboard, etc.) seems to be working fine with with a standard, cheap Micro USB-OTG lead from eBay. To get it working, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1224676
My lead looks like this one:

By the way, does anyone know what app that is running on the Samsung pictured? The Q5 USB manager works fine, but this looks nicer!
I don't think it's a must for USB-OTG, but a software update is required, currently I tried using a simple adapter with USB flash, it recognized it as a USB device but I couldn't use it...
They said that there will be a software update in October ( 2.3.4 ) that will officially support USB-OTG...
For keyboard and mouse, you can currently use Bluetooth mouse and keyboard with it, I tested the mouse with Apple Magic Wireless Mouse and it worked normally the cursor appeared and worked like a charm...
I just hope the USB-OTG includes USB Mass Storage devices like USB flash, it will be very useful

How did you do that? I can't get my bluetooth mouse connected. It says in dutch gekoppeld maar niet verbonden. What is something like paired but not connected. And i don't get a cursor. I use latest firmware rooted with doomlord kernel.

interesting. that may be an option rather than waiting for the livedock, but if the bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo costs higher then its not cost efficient.
when you connect the Arc via HDMI to a monitor, is there a way to turn of the Arc display to save battery since display is outted to a screen anyway?
I have an "freedom i-Connex" BT keyboard and an "inland" BT mouse. I have been able to get the to pair. But when I try to get it to connect it just stays on "connecting..." until I turn off Bluetooth. It says that they are paired as a "HID Device." I have looked online a bit, and the keyboard symbol that should show up does not (here is a pic of my settings screen). Is it just that the Nitro HD is not compatible with a mouse and keyboard? Does anybody know what it would take to fix that?
Thanks a ton guys.
Also, I'm new to the forum, so.... What's up e'ry body???

I've tried 3 different bluetooth keyboards and a Microsoft bluetooth mouse and none of them worked for me either. I noticed with the all keyboards, after putting them in pairing mode and going through the pairing process, the Nitro would show them as being paired but the keyboards just stayed in pairing mode so I don't think they actually paired.
All 4 bluetooth devices worked fine with CM7 on an HP Touchpad so I guess that sorta answers your second question about how to fix it, and that would be to get CM9 on the Nitro.
Ha ha... Thanks. I did a little bit more research. I didn't find anything on this phone specificaly, but no LG phone seems support BT mouse and keyboard. Samsung, HTC, Motorola(I think) all work fine right out of the box. No LG. I tried a few different programs, but no cigar. Seems like we'll just have to wait for CM. We're almost there.
P.S. I'm still new so I can't post any external links, but they're almost there, I promise. I just can't show you.
Logitech keyboard
I have Logitech Keyboard for Android 3.0 that works fine with my Windows PC and with Archos 70 (Android 2.2.x). No luck with LG though - it pairs but then reports that keyboard is not compatiblewith my phone. ICS 4.0.4.
---------- Post added at 04:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:43 PM ----------
LG support person told me that
"the Human Interface Profile required for a Bluetooth keyboard to be supported is not present on this phone. so unfortunately it's not supported"
I don't think that very many people care about this, but it works on CM 10.1.... woot :victory:
I am planning to get a Bluetooth keyboard to go with my SGS2, and I found this rather little thing on eBay:

Does anyone of you guys have any experience with it, and whether it will work with the SGS2?
Thank you,
//Steria
Works on the S II but it's absolutely horrible. Rubber buttons that are way worse to type on than the touchscreen
But does it work well? Like, can you type fast on it like a physical computer keyboard?
Do you have any other recommendations when it comes to Bluetooth keyboards?
Thank you.
As I said, it's absolutely horrible. You'll type faster on the screen keyboard
I got the same one. Absolutely couldn't get it to work with my SGS2 on any Gingerbread ROM. The bluetooth stack on GB just doesn't work with it, and I tried all the apps on the market.
Works fine with ICS, but as Cptnodegard says, it is pretty difficult to type on as the keys have to squished in hard. I think it would drive you bonkers.
Might be good for gaming...
WS
I've used a similar mini keyboard on my SGS2 (GB 2.3.5 on KI3 ROM); it seemed to work OK. It's not an especially good keyboard, but it gets the job done. I've also used the Freedom Universal Keyboard (folding laptop-sized keyboard); it works pretty well.
apart from the look&feel (you like it or hate it, but it seldom leaves you unfazed), I've tried to use it under various flavors of GB roms : no go (unless you invest 10€ in a third-party app which I won't advertise here)... Exception : CM7-based roms, because they pack a real BT stack instead of this 'crippleware' stack found on stock rooms...
Under ICS/CM9 and derivatives : works like a charm, except that I have to remap the QWERTY layout that's default for Android to a AZERTY one which is the layout of the keyboard. A few keys won't work, but it's probably a matter of time until I find how to remap those.
Is it fast to type on it ? Not really... a lot of times I find that I'm twice as fast using the regular Android keyboard.
I mostly use it as a remote for, the phone (once you know the location and key combo to use as directional pad and the Escape key, navigating thru the menus is way faster.. It's especially nifty when you have a huge applist on the market like me (850+), scrolling down the applist is a breeze, it's like 3-5 times faster than scrolling by swiping (or even with firecrackers)
While I haven't tried one myself, I hear that the Sony PS3 sixaxis controller add-on keyboard is pretty nice to type on. Nice, solid buttons instead of that rubber garbage. A bit of a weird shape but still
I am looking to get a keyboard to type fast on (on a table, w/ my fingers - not just thumbs)) like in a meeting room setting or a lecture setting. If this keyboard does not meet these requirements, what other low-cost, handy-sized keyboards do?

It depends on what brand android stick you are using. There is an app for MK808 II and MK 808 III but I never any other app for any other Android stick. Most android sticks are controlled by wireless keyboard/mouse.

I have a different Samsung BT keyboard but the layout looks similar. There are a ton of Android shortcut keys that are very useful. Quick access to the menu and notification pull-downs in particular.

You tried it on a windows device? can you do it for me?
There's a fullsize Keyboard from Anker, with Android and Windows support. And the only one with AAA-Batteries, much superior capacity vs. the tiny internal lithiums of the others. It seems to have no internal memory to remember coupled devices, but this is maybe common for keyboards. The Note remembers the keyboard, after pressing the coupling button on the kb, hit the Note's screen once and it works, with the samsung kb driver taking over. The no fun part is, that later i have to go into device settings to reactivate Swiftkey, which could handle external kbs as well, and on other devices does.

If you prefer the logitech k810, you should get that one. It works very well. I've used it for months without any problems. Some of the earlier N10.1 2014s were defective and had problems with bluetooth keyboards in general, not the just the k810.
