i got my desire today...so i know NOTHING about android
so...
how do i check if my phone is rooted??
how do i check what ROM do i have??
how do i change it??

Unless you bought it second hand it won't be rooted. Your other questions can be answered by reading the sticky and tutorials in the dev forums.

its not a second hand...

if you're using the Wildfire Buzz, then first of all you're in the wrong fora, since there is one for Wildfire Buzz.
And the Buzz version still can't be rooted unless you use XTC clip to set S-off, then downgrade to 2.1, then root with unrevoked.
But all of that are explained in the forum for Buzz.

First of all, elcome to XDA.
I noticed that you've posted this same question in a few different places, and as DenKofAnd pointed out, you need to ask in the correct forum for your device.
Dont worry about it though, easy mistake to make.
Im going to close this thread as its not relevant to the Wildfire S. Im sure you will be able to find the answer your looking for in the wildfire section though.

i want to make my wildfire form android 2.2 to 2.3 i have search all internet and all your forum until i couldn's find sth like HOW TO! i really apologise if there is any othe post or topic with the same question.
and something more! if i am going to do this! is going to my phone work properly? without any problem?

The wildfire S comes with Gingerbread installed. It was never developed for Froyo.
Are you talking about the original Wildfire instead?

This is so hard to find so i thought i would wack it in here just in case someone needs it and cant find it on the net. Thanks
Everywhere i looked it was just the Rom.zip but good thing is i kept looking and eventually found it and i decided to share with everyone.

u can find it easy from HTCDev and also bortaks troubleshooting guide in resourses(Desire Q&A) or shipped roms

well sorry about that u can report it to the mod to move it to the proper section

There is no section for it, there are enough s-off threads ! A bit of xda search would have pointed you right to it.......and no, rumrunner does not work
