[29 Aug][KERNEL]-{---------JW_tytung_S2.1----------------} - HD2 Android NAND Development

Kernel based on tytungs r11 (all credits to him) see changelog for improvements
Differences:
-Removed reiser fs and btrfs filesystems useless for most users.
-No default USB tether.
-No need for custom vold(usb notifcations)
-Fixes
For the rest all the same features.
I will continue to add changes. But to add more changes I need user feedback first of the latest kernel. Plan is to update the kernel every 1-7 days. And keep or remove commits based on user feedback.
Attachment is for Magldr flash in cwm.
For clk extract package and use fastboot commands.
Gitorious source
Updated by my friend joplayer. The kernel building etc is done by me.

Old releases:
See the attachments below
It is really important that you give feedback.
Please not the to general hd2 kernel bugs. This kernel is created with the intension to improve speed and stability. Not to fix the biggest hd2 kernel bugs the reason for this is simply lack of skill.

Woke..we was waiting for this..thx JW..I will try it now ..place release your miui 1.8.19 with it

The base is TyTungs R11b2 ... so should be included the wake up lag fix.

I am using tytung 11 final Does this kernel change anything to his wifi calling? I need wifi calling.

what happen to Tytung's own kernel releases? halted and handed over to you?
suggestions for opening post
change log ?
date change log?
tytung original version vs S1, S2 etc version..
Thanks Awarded for the effort anyways
flashing now after NANDROID backup

No he didnt handed them over to me. I keeped tytungs name for the kernel just as respect for him since my work is very minimal. Thanks for the suggestions I will use them in the next release my plan is just to spend more time to improve the kernel by using general android kernel and cm fixes.
And about wifi calling the module and kernel support is included apart from reiser fs and btrfs you should have everything what tytungs kernel has.

ok
oh yeah, hastarin's name should be there since Markinus branch was modded by Hastarin, then Tytung modded Hastarins final 8.6 kernel ( back in the SD build days)
no idea where Hastarin is nowadays though..

great...but I dfound out that tytungs kernel 11 has some serious mobile network connection issues....almost everytime the device turns the screen off and enters sleep state, connection is lost, after waking up, I need to enter PIN to start radio again...maybe you could fix that too
(I am on clk)

nice work m8!

I would love to have a variant of the tytung's kernel for the GB Sense builds with working BT Headset.
Also the OC limit could be pushed further than 1190mhz.

tested on Hyperdroid CM7 Honeybadger (2.3.4) and originally from Tytung r10
WIFI works
3G works , for now until I get to test that complaint regarding timeout during screenoff
Default Smartass will test battery drain and performance across next 24 hours
screen delay was fixed on mine, its so fast that if u keep pressing it , the screen blinks only for a bit
thanks mate

-Keep in mind that battery might need to settle (maybe need to clean battery stats) that is always a bit different when using different kernel sometimes you need to sometimes it is not needed.

i think he sold his HD2 and get Desire HD.

dunno why your mod feels slower and more ram comsuming. tested on dunghop pyramid clk v2.1.
edit : also very fast boot (my phone boot's faster than win mob time)

im on w7 64 bit and all working well

Finally we have a dedicated updating kernel every week or so... oh god i miss the old times when we had Hastarin and marichima etc.. kernels updated everyday =)))))
Edit: also check the battery issue while listening to music on standby mode, cuz i get 60-100mAh with tytung's kernel 11b2 on MIUI latest.

[ROM][Vanilla 2.1] VanillaEclair 3.3 "ET, phone home!"

THIS IS OBSOLTE! VISIT THE NEW THREAD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=704974
PS: MODS, PLEASE CLOSE THIS. THANKS.
Hi guys! After hours and hours of work and hundreds of compiled kernels, VanillaEclair 3.3 is finally ready. Please read this post carefully, and enjoy!
First, I would like to thank Cyanogen for his 5.0.7, behnaam for the 2.6.29 kernel sources and all the users who have been testing all the Release Candidates. This wouldn't have been possible without you.
What has been done to the kernel:
- tweaked scheduler;
- tweaked internal task killer;
- pre-overclock @691/176(default kernel), using the ONDEMAND CPU governor
- improved RAM management and usage
- improved overall CPU speed - you can't take anything more out of it
... all of these result to:
- amazing battery life
- great overall performance
Features:
- all hardware working
- GPS, AGPS
- GPRS/EDGE/3G/HSDPA aka full 2G/3G support
- photos, videos
- phone calls
- messaging
- auto-brightness
- LEDs (except trackball led)
- trackball
- facebook sync, google sync, twitter sync etc.
- Youtube HD
- accelerometer
- rooted
- A2SD using Cyanogen's method -> all your apps & Dalvik-Cache go to SDCard if you enable the option in settings
- Bluetooth file transfer, bluetooth music(no A2DP yet)
- busybox
- compcache using heyodee's script
... and much more!
What doesn't work:
- A2DP aka Bluetooth audio in calls
- trackball led
FAQ/Readme:
How can I enable Apps2SD?
To enable Apps2SD you have to go to Settings > Applications and check Apps2SD option. You also need an EXT2/3 partition on your SDCard.
I flashed this ROM and now when I want to do a Nandroid backup I get an error. What should I do?
This happens because of the new A2SD method. Please do a BART backup, but be careful: you can only have a BART backup on your SDCard at a time.
I flashed this ROM and I got stuck with the HERO screen for a while.
Please flash the LoKernel or the Freekernel. It should fix your issue.
When the phone wakes up sometimes I get some bad graphics and the lockscreen is upside down.
This thing is rare, but, if you get it, either flash the Lokernel or Freekernel, either live with it
What's next?
Well, unfortunately I won't be able to work on this ROM until the 5th of July. I hope that when I get back from my vacation I can fix A2DP and trackball LED and make this even better.
I don't like vanilla. What should I do?
How can you not like vanilla?! But if you're one of the guys, I suggest you try my other ROM - ChocolateEclair - which is a Sense ROM and users say it's pretty good
DOWNLOADS:
VanillaEclair 3.3 NAS @ 691/176
This is the vanilla ROM with the default [email protected]/176. If something is wrong or you want to see what other kernels can do, you may flash one of these on top of it:
VanillaEclair 3.3 lokernel @576/245
This kernel is recommended for those who have issues with waking up or cannot boot with the default kernel.
VanillaEclair 3.3 freekernel @518/245
The Freekernel is coming at the default HTC speeds, but you have 17 frequencies available in the table to overclock it as you wish with OverclockingWidget or SetCPU. This is slower than the default kernel because of the unoptimized speed jumps.
VanillaEclair 3.3 extremekernel @768/176
This is for the lucky ones which have a Hero that can work properly @768. But it's not only the 48% overclock. You also have a much improved scheduler and an aggressive internal task killer, that will start killing apps when you have 35MB RAM memory free.
VanillaEclair 3.3 ExperimentalKernel @691/176
Flash this at your own risk!
This is the experimental kernel, which has one nice feature: NTFS support. You can replace that FAT parition on your SDCard with a NTFS one, in case you want to. It also has a very aggressive internal task killer(starts killing @35MB RAM free), some aggressive CPU settings and some experimental settings @scheduler. This might be the future though!
VanillaEclair 3.3 Default kernel
Flash this if you tried one of the other kernels and you want to move back to the default one.
Do you like it? Buy me a Coke if you can.

Thx for your hard work Radug, i'm not found of vanilla style, but tried your sense one and you're doing great !!!
Hope you'll work on WWE when it's out
what about jit? use the one from RC4?
Great RaduG !! downloading !!!!
Awesome! Will install later today for sure!
Wired tether fixed in this kernel?
@kosmiq
It should work mate, I completely forgot to test it. Anyway, all the kernels are USB Tethering enabled.
hello RaduG
i must say that you have a supergood ROM.
Been with it since RC3 and i love the vanillaflavour!!
Thankyou very much. stuff like this makes the HTC Hero to more than just an awesome phone!
Excellent thanks! Flashing now!
Downloading and trying, But somehow I prefer your Chocolate Eclair ROM, Actually I like Sense
downloaded and will flash later... thanks again RaduG!

We will probably have to wait till heyodee drops his 5 cents here and releases the script to enable it, as aparently they have to be customized for each release.
So, wiping dalvik is all I need to do if I come from RC4?
Yes mate. That's pretty much all.
I did just wipe Dalvik and everything works great. It is a pity that so long there will be no updates, but the holidays have to be. So have fun ;-)
That's one of the reasons why I chose to work on this release a few more days, to make it as stable as possible so that you won't need another ROM for a while If you don't need A2DP, it's perfectly fine. But if you do, Chocolate Eclair is waiting for your Hero
Awesome work, thank you, just out of interest, will the trackball led ever work?

[23.FEB.11][DFT] CleanDROID v2.55-Froyo+CM [Kernel GL_Core_v5b]

The ROM is completely rooted and SU is working correctly so you will easily be able to change animations, framework, system APKs etc
Installation:
MAGLDR 1.11 or greater required, Radio 2.12.50.xx is reccommended. Load phone in MAGLDR menu mode, select USB flasher. Connect phone to PC with USB cable (allow it to install drivers if necessary) and flash the ROM with the supplied DFT flasher. Its that simple

You can download the complete patch set i use here http://htcfanboys.com/CleanEx/Kernel/KERNEL PATCH.7z
You can download a complete ready to use build for other roms and chefs to use here http://htcfanboys.com/CleanEx/Kernel/DISTRIBUTION KERNEL.7z
Download:
NAND DFT FLASH >> http://htcfanboys.com/CleanEx/CleanDROID 2.55.7z
Build info
~~~~!!!! IMPORTANT - READ !!!!~~~~
From now on, the rom .7z you have downloaded will contain 3 boot.img files. Choose which one you want to try and delete the other two, then rename the one you have chosen to "boot.img", then flash. If you have windows set to auto hide file extensions (99.9% people do) renaming the file to "boot" will be sufficient, otherwise it will end up being called boot.img.img and DFT wont see it!
The three choices are:
- 1190mhz No Undervolt (most stable)
- Undervolt 1190mhz (battery saver - might not work on all devices)
- 1536mhz No Undervolt (Will consume more battery, but faster, compatible with most devices)
Changelog: v2.55
- Ditched undervolting for all but 1190 kernel (for battery saving)
- Added 1536mhz kernel, will work on most devices but use more battery
- Kernel voltage changes should fix FC for everyone whose phone can handle the undervolt 1190 / 1536 kernel
- Flash keep data supported from 2.51/2.50
Changelog: v2.51
- Kernel changes, increased min voltage on UV kernels
- More devices (almost all) should work with UV1190 and UV1305 kernels
- Some minor tweaks
- lil bit faster
- Battery drain should be improved
Changelog: v2.50
- Added 3 different boot.img files to archive (see above)
- Pulled latest commits from GIT, kernel patches and updates
- Rebuilt rom, stability improved
- Updated to CM 6.1.1 from stock Desire build
- INIT changes for uber fast booting
Changelog: v2.02
- Fixed LED notifications
- Several kernel changes for performance
- Switch to interactive governor for better battery life and improved IO
- INIT changes to decrease boot time slightly
- Added SMU (super mega ultraness)
- Reduced by 2mb
- Fixed netfilter and 60ma after call drain
Changelog: v2.00
- Totally rebuilt from the ground up from latest stable Desire CM build
- Completely removed compcache service for more performance
- Smallest build yet - 321mb free on euro HD2!
- Newer custom kernel + accompanying INIT
- Fastest ROM yet!
Changelog: v1.40
- fixed the broken apps to SD feature
- recompiled kernel with latest GIT commits
- tweaked kernel, rom now more responsive, less battery drain, fixed various issues
- fresh flash required
(old changelogs removed)
Additional Info!
Attached to this post is the "LiveWallpaperPicker.apk" install it to be able to set your homescreen wallpaper to any live wallpapers you may have installed
FAQ
Q: How to change homescreen dpi?
A: Install Ted (text editor) from market and edit your build.prop or use LCD Density from market.
Q: I have problem with resolution in games.
A: Uncheck compatability mode in spare parts and reboot.
Q: How to keep all the app and settings of the old version?
A: Use MyBackup Pro from Market.
Q: When will FM radio work?
A: When i can get it to work - thats why it has been removed
Q: How to activate battery %?
A: Go to Settings/CyanogenMod settings/user interface/status bar/then click battery %
Q: I'm noticing more battery drain than usuall.
A: You will need to drain/recharge battery before you get full life expectancy out if it - just like any flash.
Q: If you completely run down the battery, would you be able to charge it with the phone again?
A: If your battery is dead, press and hold Vol Down and plug in USB cable / charger at same time. Phone will boot into bootloader and charge there just fine. Leave for 20 mins, pull battery, reboot and charge normally. If phone has just run down, plugging in the charger will usually turn it on.
Q: does it has htc sense?
A: No.
Q: Screenshots?
A: No need, its standard Froyo with ADW launcher
reserved for later use 2
yayy first!!!
Sorry, I hate people who do that but couldn't resist
Sounds interesting, gunna give this a try later, thnx bud, will report any bugs/issues I fine
yayyy, i'm 2nd..lol...me too, fooking hate it, so couldn't resist...downloading - will report back,,,fanks
Cool, i think that when it's not sense, it should be a cyanogenmod
Don't mind making an SD version, for those that are on Windows Phone 7? That would be awesome.
print screens pls?
Yay! Are the pillars of winmo ROM cooking migrating to Android NAND. Not a surprise at all everyone seems to be jumping on the bandwagon. I won't be surprise to see Dutty Throy, Kwbr and the likes here.
I removed them because not everyone for example will want Google Voice, or Youtube, or Voice Search............ this way you can choose your own preference.
great job Marc1706!
can somebody test this on a Sense3.0/3.5 ROM without the haldric glitches fix? thx.
Hi
is there a chance to boot this kernel on a SD Build?
I tried it but it stops on "Jump to Kernel"
Thanks
please don't stop!!! big thanks!!!
The greatest news, thank you!
Running fine on Typhoon CM7!
The only problem I get is 17mA without wi-fi..and even in Airplane mode.
Could not get it to boot on the new DHD 3.06 v1.3 from DUNG. Replaced the initrd.gz file, resigned but stuck at go go go. Will keep fiddling.
What a great day, hopefully this will prepare us for the ice cream sandwich in the near future, downloading now
Well, I know it clearly states CM but gave it a shot anyways. I deleted the initrd and installed it on daekins rom and no luck, stuck at gogogo. I'm guessing something in the initrd from his rom needs updating, better luck next time I guess.
Keep up the great work.
I compiled a mix between ankuch's SD build and Tytung's NAND build, all credits go to them!
I only created this thread because Tytungs thread became messy and my post with the rom will get lost after many replies.
For some reason boot animation doesnt work, i will look in to this today or tomorrow, doesnt have priority now.
This will be the only release from me as tytung said he is working on a new kernel with loads of improvements so keep an eye on his thread for future updates! ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1354267 )
for Mag and CLK
Gallery works perfectly.
Market works perfectly.
All other info you can find on Tytungs thread here :
Good job. you already posted this on tytung rom and this is a repack of tytung rom and the ankuch HWA hack. Update from tytung will probably include ankuch hack, No need for a new thread in my opinion, but that is your call. Good job for the repack though.
True, but my repack was flooded, people wouldnt find the link between all the posts and i did not want to flood Tytungs thread.
People can talk about the repack here and leave tytungs thread for bug reports etc for his original rom.
Tytung is working hard on his new kernel and other fixes and as everyone know he doesnt release a unstable rom so everyone can enjoy this till he releases his new rom
Just keeping the threads clean
No problem. I appreciate your contribution to make our HD2 better. However, as soon as the HW2 hack by ankuch is included by tytung, as a show of respect to tytung, please consider taking this one down. Unless you have another good fix you want to share with us.
BTW, I agreed with your reasoning.
it's clean and tidy here, great to see the ROM
Come on dude. Everybody got it the first time. Don't beat it to death.
Chill.
P.S: You sort of sound like some Fella from a Godfather Movie "as a show of respect..."
The two links are not working ...
No sorry, the libs need work, im trying to dig into developing android roms but im not that advanced yet
But it wont be far away as ics development is making alot of progress from many sides !
Multiupload link is up in first post !
Anyone got WIFI working ??
UPD: NEvermind, i suck.
I just flashed this version to test, and it looks very smooth. Very good for taking the best from the other ROMs and repacking them together. I'm liking ICS.
Looks like wired headphone also doesnt work, as well as no camera (just like tytung, which should be expected). I'm going to try the new kernal by Zivan56 on this to see if wired headphones work.
Has anyone compared HW accelataion vs. Non-HW acceleration in the tytung ICS ROM? Some other threads complained that HW accel wasnt working so well.
WOW Its simply greaaaaaaaaaatttttt
Wifi works. Hardware Acc works. Its incredibly fast.
Default launcher is not as smooth as LauncherPro. But system in general is smooth.
Games like Trial Extreme 2 are laggy.
Hey, can you give me the GPU files please? I want to see if this works on the Desire ROM.
[17 DEC][ROM] DHD Dungphp 1.6 - Tweakers by Vis [Tweaks+ZRAM+Swap+Data2SD] DMKern2.8
ROM Base by Dungphp RUU Desire HD 3.06.405.1, 3.12.405.1 - With sense 3.0 - Android 2.3.5 Tweakers Edition by Visentinel With STABLE DATA2SD by Sibere
****Pay attention to the install procedure****
Reason for ROM
All tweaked out, and virtually unlimited space thanks to siberes DATA2SD made for Desire roms. ZRAM by Dorimanx and Kernel 2.8 by Dorimanx. Dungphp's sense 3 rom is the best sense rom in town and then i came along and made it even better
Tweaks Feature List
Tweaked IO
- NOOP IO Scheduler set to defualt
- 512 IO Cache
-You can change the above with system tuner set at boot with init.d
Tweaked Ram Management
- Latest Legendary Dorimanx's ZRAM Script
- Automatically mounts mmcblk0p3 for sd-based swap
Stripped Sense 3, just the awesome Sense UI
- Sense 3 Stripped of all useless HTC stock apps + libs (Basically Everything)
- Stripped all downloadable GAPPS
- Launcher Pro is Default, There is no Rosie (Doesn't work after stripping HTC Apps) Install any launcher you prefer
All of Dungphp's rom features...
Working:
- Phone, Sound, Camera, Camcorder, GPS, Data, Wifi, bluetooth ...
- Mount, USB Disk, Gallery, 720p videos, Flash with video, sound streaming ...
Bugs:
- Graphical Glitches - Dont try to fix it, aint as bad as anyone thinks... you can live with it ! - or try and flash a .35 kernel, but performance goes down... is it worth it ?
- Sense Customization settings closes without launching the customization app
INSTALL PROCEDURE
MAGLDR partition sizes - Use Last 24mb NAND - 5/330/10
Install the rom as normal with CWM
Reboot and wait for the rom to finish first boot and complete the HTC wizard, wait a couple of minutes at the launcherpro desktop, you may config wifi and some settings but DO NOT add any accounts to accounts and sync.
Reboot
Flash the Data2SD in CWM
Reboot
Install Superuser from the market
I had to strip "everything" I could to get this rom to boot with enough NAND data space to function before rebooting again to install data2sd. I had 22mb data space left on my first boot.
Enjoy
Download - You Need Both
Download the Rom
Download the Data2SD
Fix the "Customize" in settings. One of the HTC Apps was responsible for that
Maybe a Sense 3.5 release but there isn't much difference between 3 and 3.5 for the purposes of this ROM, also I could not shrink a sense 3.5 rom enough for first boot so..
A. I need time to experiment with more stripping ideas
B. Learn how to integrate Siberes Data2SD
C. Figure out why removing the A2SD+ from the sense 3.5 runny roms released here completely breaks them.
seems a great rom be cooked!
kill the rosie.apk and take out the htc screen is a good idea to make the speed up for performance , i did that for my test build ... it's fast and faster.
when i opened the thread i also nervous and especially
that is my first thread.
but be relaxed, i think this will be a stable and cool rom!
tank's bro,downloading now
Cool, you would be the first person other than me to use this rom
let me know how it goes asap, i want to be sure 330m system works, 315 worked for me but as you can see i have under 5mb left.
After you flash go to advanced and report errors, mount sdcard and check the cwm log and make sure all the minzips worked, to ensure you didint run out of system partition space.
And remember to enable use last 24 nand in magldr under services.
Graphic glitches...You're wrong. I can't live with that.
So your thinking this could be fixed in a .32 kernel if someone could figure out why the .35 kernel fixes it by finding the missing part ?
I am simply hoping soon Dorimanx might dev a .35 kernel with his performance modifications, I think he just needs time.
Just an update on this rom, the latest zram script by Dorimanx is clashing with this roms oom settings, I am going to work on tweaking it. I will post an updated zram script for this ROM once I am satisfied with the settings.
-Update
2nd post has CWM flash zip with a better zram script.
Dorimanx Kernel 2.8 had a Bluetooth Bug, attached to 2nd post is updated 2.9 kernel.
can't test now, but thanks anyway for a new sense work for Hd2!
I suggest to update kernel to 2.9 in order to fix bt bug
I will test this rom next week
yes, that is what i want to say, I think that should has possible be fix. but if someday DM decide to coding .35 ... well, I thought we put it away temporary and try our best for cooking rom first, and if possible then we could try to fix and coding kernel together. because kernel builder not to many but have lot of chefs, so i thought maybe we should join to kernel part to find out the bugs.
It's a good idea but atleast for me I know nothing of kernels, I can't even figure out how to compile a kernel lol, I have tried.
I will ask dorimanx if he is willing to assist in this tho, I will offer him my full support to test.
If anyone has any sod issues just let me know il make an update to stop loading sd based swap. Usually sd swap is the reason for it.
