Touch scren sensitivity?

Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the sensitivity of the touch screen. I have noticed that with some programs like IContact and PocketCM the touch screen is really sensitive and it makes it nice for scrolling while with a lot of the stock programs like messaging and such I have to push harder on the screen to get it to recognize that I am touching it. I have noticed a 5 or 6 digit number in the reg under a key that had something to do with the touch screen at least I think it did but it is an odd number that I am unsure of what it means. If I am correct and it is a reg edit to adjust the sensitivity then could someone post maybe a small explanation on how far to go or how far to not go and which way would make it more sensitive or is there a program that will do this for me. TIA
yes there is my friend. just do a search here and u will find all ur answers.
1 - This tweak will reduce the amount of pressure it takes to use the cube gestures.
1. Open any reg editing software (PHM Reg EDIT is nice)
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\software\OEM\TFLOSettings
3. In HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\software\OEM\TFLOSettings find DWORD fingerpressure.
4. Enter into edit mode then either double or quadruple your oem setting which is 3760
5. WARNING! DO NOT decrease the OEM value, because then IT WILL ACTUALLY TAKE MORE PRESSURE.
6. Soft reset and enjoy reduced pressure gestures!!
GENERAL WARNING: NEVER DECREASE fingerpressure Value. Decreasing the value means applying MORE than needed pressure on your touch screen, which may render your screen damagaed.
2 - This tweak will reduce the pressure you need to apply with your fingers or while typing with stylus.
1. Through the PHM registry editor(or any PPC registry editor)
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\touchpanel
3. Then find DWORD pressurethreshold
4. Change the value of pressurethreshold. (INCREASE value ONLY!)
Personally I tried doubling the default value, until i have reached my desired setting.
Now, its like tapping soflty without having a feeling that i have screen protector. Also less stress on the stylus and screen and faster tapping.
Recommended Values: My Touchpanel Threshold is at 38372 and Touchflo is at 15040. Works great.
3 - Cube tweak to speed up the way in which your cube rises and falls.
1. Open Reg editing software
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\software\OEM\TFLOSettings
3. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\software\OEM\TFLOSettings find DWORD ...speedhigh
4. Enter in to edit mode then either double or quadruple your oem setting which is 40
5. Then find HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\software\OEM\TFLOSettings find DWORD ...speedlow
6. Enter in to edit mode then either double or quadruple your oem setting which is 65
WARNING! DO NOT decrease the OEM value. Else it will MAKE IT SLOWER FOR THE CUBE TO RISE and FALL.
7. Soft reset then enjoy
Personal Settings: speedhigh at 160 and speedlow at 260
3 - Cube tweak to lower the time delay it takes for the cube to responed.
1. Open Reg editing software
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\software\OEM\TFLOSettings
3. In HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\software\OEM\TFLOSettings find DWORD ...delaydiff
4. Enter in to edit mode then lower that down to what ever setting is good for you, your oem setting which is 40
WARNING! DO NOT increase the OEM value, unless you want the cube to respond slower.
My Setting is 25. I think thats the lowest.

Thank you for you quick response. I was looking at other threads and they are all saying to change the value lower and when I did my screen stopped responding just like you said so I started to change the value high. I went all the way to 200,000 on both settings. I noticed a huge change in how much pressure it took to use the stylus but not as much for finger response. I use my left hand to navigate my screen and I noticed that my index finger worked better then my thumb and at first thought it was because of the size of the finger touching the screen but then I realized that it was actually because my index finger had an old blister on it and the skin was dry so it was more like a stylus then a finger to the screen. Sorry I just read what I wrote and I know it is kinda gross but I don't know any other way to explain my findings. Any way thanks again for your response, you verified my results.

Automatically Opening Input Panel?

How many of you add the functionality to automatically open the input panel when focus changes to a text box etc? While this seems to be a user courtesy, I don't see it done often.
Blake
It's very comfortable to open the input panel and select the existing text by code so that the user can directly start with entering a new text. (instead of having to open the input panel and select the current text)
In addition the input panel could be closed when the user clicks the enter button.

Google Introduces Handwrite Search

Here's how to try it out:
Step 1: Enable the feature
1. Turn the feature on or off in your search settings. Touch Settings at the bottom of the Google homepage or a search results page, or visit google.com/preferences.
2. Go to the Handwrite section, select Enable to turn on the feature, and then touch Save.
Note: You might need to refresh the homepage to see the feature.
Step 2: Use it to search
1. Tap the Handwrite icon in the lower right corner of the screen on your mobile device.
2. Use your finger to start writing your search terms anywhere on the screen.
3. While you write, your handwritten text converts into typeface in the search box. If you need to delete a letter, tap the backspace icon . Press and hold the backspace icon to delete more than one letter at a time. Click X in the search box to start over again.
4. You'll see a list of predicted queries below the search box as you write. Tap one of them to search for that prediction, or click the arrow to the right to build your query and keep on writing.
5. Tap the search icon to search.

[Guide] Tasker - Automated Fstrim with Email Output

Tasker is a great automation tool for Android. There are many ways to do tasks and automation so this is simply my way. Feel free to modify for yourself in any way and comment.
I'm using a T-Mobile Galaxy S3 running Anthem AOKP ROM with Android 4.2.2.
DISCLAIMER: If you don't know what fstrim is or does please do not use this guide until you understand fully.
DO NOT USE THIS WITH ANDROID 4.3. Why? Android 4.3 already includes an automated fstrim so you would be redundantly running this.
Assumptions in this guide:
1. You have ROOT.
2. You have Tasker app from the Play Store.
3. You have Secure Settings app from the Play Store.
4. You have Hacker's Keyboard app from the Play Store. Why?? I have not found a way to simulate a "long press" to create the ability to "paste". As a result, I use this keyboard and the 5 row compact layout that allows Tasker to physically touch the Ctrl key and the V key for pasting.
5. You are using the keyguard only, no PIN or Pattern. Tasker and Secure Settings allow this but you must select other options than Keyguard to make it work.
5a. The above is striked out because I was not having the correct success unlocking the "swipe" to unlock. As a result, this guide so far has only worked with no keyguard at all but I'm sure it will work fine if you substitute PIN and Pattern using Secure Settings.
6. You have fstrim utility.
To check if you have fstrim, open a terminal app and type "busybox". Look for fstrim in the results. If you have it proceed, if not you will need a custom busybox or a ROM that has the utility built into it.
The next set of steps will create the required task and then the profile to run the task. In the end, we will run fstrim on 3 partitions and email the output of the results to ourselves. I do this for a "Daily Dashboard" of sorts. You don't need to do the email portion if you don't want. You can always just run the task or create it as an app using Tasker functionality.
1. Open your file manager and create a new file on the sdcard or the extsdcard. I will call my file in this guide "maintenance.log" and I will use the location of "/extSdCard/maintenance.log". You may choose whatever path and filename you wish.
2. Tap on the TASKS tab at the top of the app.
3. Tap the + and name it. I named mine Fstrim.
4. Tap Fstrim task and click the +. Select Plugin > Secure Settings > tap Edit > Wake Device > Screen & Keyboard Lights On. Choose a value. 4 seconds is fine because once the screen is on, it defaults to the normal Android timeout value of the lockscreen before it goes black. (freely change as needed)
5. Tap + and choose Plugin > Secure Settings > Keyguard > Off
5a. See the above 5a. strikeout reason. Here is where you could substitute PIN and Pattern.
6. Tap + and choose Script > Run Shell.
In the Command box, type rm /extSdCard/maintenance.log (this is used to delete the log on each run so we only have the output of the last fstrim run. Use whatever directory you wish to store the log file in and whatever filename you wish to use.7. Tap + and choose Task > Wait > use the up arrow for 5 seconds. (this is built in padding in case of deep sleep issues).
8. Tap + and choose Script > Run Shell > put these 4 commands in the Command field and tick the "Use Root" check box.
date >> /extSdCard/maintenance.log
fstrim -v /data >> /extSdCard/maintenance.log
fstrim -v /system >> /extSdCard/maintenance.log
fstrim -v /cache >> /extSdCard/maintenance.log9. Tap + and choose Display > System Lock
10. Tap on the TASKS tab at the top of the app.
11. Tap the + and name it. I named mine Maintenance Email.
12. Tap Maintenance Email task and click the +. Select Plugin > Secure Settings > tap Edit > Wake Device > Screen & Keyboard Lights On. Choose a value. 4 seconds is fine because once the screen is on, it defaults to the normal Android timeout value of the lockscreen before it goes black.
13. Tap + and choose Plugin > Secure Settings > Keyguard > Off.
13a. Again, here you can choose PIN and Pattern instead of keyguard.
14. Tap + and choose Task > Wait > use the up arrow for 5 seconds. (this is built in padding in case of deep sleep issues).
15. Tap + and choose File > Read File > put the location and filename in the field. > In "To Var" type %filecontents. (You can choose any variable name you wish).
16. Tap + and choose Misc > Set Clipboard > in the "Text field type %filecontents.
17. Tap + and choose Task > Wait > use the up arrow for 5 seconds. (this is built in padding in case of deep sleep issues).
18. Tap + and choose Net > Compose Email > put the recipient (yourself) and fill out Subject line.
19. Tap + and choose Task > Wait > use the up arrow for 5 seconds. (this is built in padding in case of deep sleep issues).
20. Tap + and choose Script > Run Shell > put these 3 commands in the Command field and tick the "Use Root" check box.
input tap 90 1232
input tap 320 1123
input tap 664 10021. Tap + and choose Task > Wait > use the up arrow for 5 seconds. (this is built in padding in case of deep sleep issues).
22. Tap on the PROFILES tab at the top of the app.
23. Tap + and choose Time. You only need to set whatever time you want in both "From" and "To" in order to have the task run every 24 hours. You shouldn't need to set the time with minutes in between. For example, I run mine at 4:30 every morning so both "From" and "To" are set to 4:30. Change this accordingly if you feel you need to.
24. Make sure your PROFILE is set to On.
25. Make sure Tasker is running, long press the gear icon at the top left when the app is open. You will see a toast notification that says enabled and when you exit the app, the running icon will be at the top left in your status bar.
26. Enjoy!
***Reserved***
I have edited some of the steps to remove keyguard as it wasn't working right for me on my ROM. Others may have luck but use PIN/Pattern instead.
Also, I was able to use the Input Method switcher in Secure Settings as well so you can add that option to change back to your preferred keyboard if you do not wish to use Hacker's Keyboard all the time.
Mine was done at 4:30AM so while there was minor catch up switching the keyboards, it wasn't an issue by the time I started using my phone in the morning.
Another side point, the specific input tap commands are static locations of where the "send" button for Gmail would be located. If you are using a different email app you would go to your developer options and enable the option to see input touches and grab the appropriate X,Y coordinates. The same is for Hacker's Keyboard as well. They should always appear in the same location so my coordinates should work.
Let me know if it's not clear or you have any other questions.

[Q] on tap internal action

Hi,
Is there a way to make some actions (like change the color of a shape or move a shape, hide a bitmap etc.) by taping on an object (bitmap, shape, etc.)
Thanks a lot

By internal means no, with the additional help of Tasker yes. If that is an option for you and you want some more details on the how just ask

Yes thanks a lot I Found a very powerfull way with Tasker !
1) Create a Task in Tasker :
- In Tasker, tab Task click "+"
- Gives a name
- Select lugin -> Zooper widget
- Click on the pen in Config bar
- In text field Variable ZW : Give a name to the Variable (ex: MyZooperVar)
- In text field Text ZW : Enter a value (ex: 2)
- Click the save icon
- Your variable must appears under Config section (ex: #TMyZooperVar# = 2
- Go back and select an icon (internal, blank icon for exemple)
- Go back, your task must appears in the list
2) Add an on tap action in zooper widget :
- Create a shape or a bitmap
- Click on "module on tap"
- select Shortcuts -> tasker -> "select your tak"
3) When you click on your bitmap, the tasker task runs and the variable #TMyZooperVar# should be equal to the value "2"
4) For exemple, in order to slide a cursor :
- Create a shape as a cursor
In this exemple, init_pos is the initial position of the shape and offset is the number of pixels to slide for each tab
- In Advanced section of the shape, enter : "[ox]$init_pos+(offset * #TMyZooperVar#)$[/ox]
