I formatted the sdcard via ubuntu, recovery and windows but always appear that message.

2. This is a definite usb brick, its a very common problem that I myself have been affected by numerous times. There is an easy fix for it though. Google is your friend!

Flash zip from sdcard work! Thank you a lot! Now i try to flash a ROM
SOLVED
I always run the fastboot oem enable one to fix sdcard reading, then flash the update.zip to fix usb connection.
Does this mean theres no need to flash update.zip if I run 'fastboot oem erase config'?
I'm already getting usb bricked, a quicker fix is always welcome!

I tried other sd. Same condition.
I just rooted my Desire with unrevoked.
I'm able to turn S-off, but as I've no nand-backup of no-a2sd roms I can't restore. Restoring nand-backups of a2sd-roms via fastboot is doing well, but system can't boot in OS lacking sd-ext.
I used
Code:
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
It said Ok. But, I didn't see any benefit.

Hi..
Hopefully someone can help me..
I previously had ClockworkMod 2.5.0.1 installed and desided to change to Amon RA recovery 2.0.0, since I couldn't backup my ext4 partitions.
I've got RCMixHD 3.0b1 installed, but since I flashed another recovery it installed a new superuser - This superuser didn't work properly, as I had to "allow" all the time, everytime I needed root (try backing up with MyBackup Root eh'?).
Then someone told me to re-flash my current ROM without wipe, so I tried that..
But... I got an error after the ROM installed a bit and then tried wiping to restore my nandroid.
This unfortunately didn't work, as I got somekind of mount error.
Now, everytime I try wipe, install or anything from my SD Card in recovery I get the following error:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(No such file or directory)
E:Can't mount /sdcard

I tried re-partitioning my card, which didn't work, now I don't know what to do, already been phone-less for a day now =/
I can't flash another recovery with unrEVOked, as I can't get past the damn "HTC"-screen.
EDIT: Using "Clear storage" in FASTBOOT just made it reboot all the time @ "HTC"
Any sugestions will do, please help.

I you can still get into recovery, you can also still get into bootloader and fastboot:
power off, then power on while holding 'back' button => You should get into bootloader
When in bootloader, you choose 'fastboot' => first choice in the list of four
You then connect you USB cable => You should see a message like 'fastboot usb' in red.
On you PC, open a terminal window and go to your fastboot directory (directory where you should have installed the Google SDK)
Then, you type the following command in your terminal window:
Code:
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
This should reenable your SD card.
At that stage, you are back with a working phone, but the USB is not yet working properly. You'll have to reflash your 'misc' partition with a correct mtd0.img.
The tutos I showed you in a previous reply explains the procedure to follow.
hope this will help.

Ya ... Your phone is working, but, when you plug your USB cable, your PC does not detect it, is'it ?
All depends now on the following points :
Is your phone s-off or not ? Is your current ROM rooted or not ?
I was trying to flash a insertcoin ROM the other day and i failed to do so. I then just kept trying to flash the same file and wiping my cache and stuff in recovery. Then i tried another ROM but still didnt work; i formatted my sd card and after that when in recovery my phone says fail to mount sd card dev/......so on so on. I think my problem is that i have a screwed up OS im not too sure. i hope some experts can give me some suggestions to solve this problem thank you

It's one of two possibilities:
1) You've usb bricked your device. To solve try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=691639&highlight=usb+brick
2) Mis-formatted SD. SD has to have one FAT partition (first) and a second ext3/4 partition. Both have to be primary.
Do you mind to explain how to format it correctly then?

Read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084 at step five. It is on step by step how to format and partition your card. It has a video showing you exactly.
try this put your htc desire in fastboot mode and instal the ruu and voala the phone is back
sometime ruu flash can't fix usb brick if your misc.img is corrupt
final request for help after this if it doesnt work i will go to htc help center
this will be a video of my problem now, and i still cant get things to work....search um "My android problem" and you will see a guy in grey shirt thats me holding my sadly bricked desire.
Did you tried flashing stock RUU?
If your are still usb bricked after flashing RUU/pb99.img then try the steps below i fix mine that way.
after i unlocked my sd card via fastboot command"fastboot oem enableqxdm 0" sd card recognized by phone and i can browse it via file explorer.
note-you can access your sdcard only via file explorer nothing else so after execute the command download a file explorer from android market.
then i copied the visionary+(it gave me temporary root access which is needed to work this whole thing out).
root explorer, terminal emulator apk and those usb bricked update file(image_flash,mtd0.img) to sdcard from pc via card reader and installed them.
before copy those update file on sd card i edited the mtd0.img to put correct cid n rom info via hex editor.
after that i copied those update file in phone memory
/data/data/ and set permission for r/w and execute via root explorer.
after that i simply typed this command in terminal emulator
"su
/data/data/flash_image misc /data/data/mtd0.img"
Rebooted my phone and voila usb brick is gone htc sync, usb tethering,sd card mount, charge everything is working and now i am rooted and s-off again
Note-you don't need the rageagainstthecage file which only need if you try to get root access via terminal emulator which is lengthy n complicated but with visionary+ you can get root access with 1 click and it's much easier than typing command in T.E.
you are S-OFF

done.

It's not that simple if your misc.img is corrupted that fast boot command only enable your sd-card if it's blocked it's not gonna fix your corrupted misc.img so i had to flash the pb99.img to get back to stock rom get through the process i described earlier.
well in order to carry out these tasks ill need my phone to be detected by the computer right? I think this is why i cant get into my phone cuz when every i try adb shell it says devices not detected.
That's why you need to do exactly what i did as you are now stuck on stock rom with usb brick.

Thankyou anyone for helping me.
I was trying to update my phone to the Maximus rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601543) from an AOKP JB ROM.
I succesfully followed the instructions to relock my phone, the flash the firmware, then unlock it again. Unfortunately I was foolish and didn't think to copy across the rom.zip before doing this. I tried restoring a Nandroid backup but was stuck in a bootloop. I also tried reflashing the previous AOKP Rom that I had on there. In this case it booted but I had no radio, no wifi, and importantly I couldn't mount over USB to copy across the new ROM. I'm guessing neither method works because of the new HBOOT?
I went to this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1609190 and it's clear that I have to flash an RUU through fastboot to get back to a working state. Unfortunately All the RUU links for JB Roms as listed on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376 seem to be dead so I can't download them. Similarly the links to older RUUs found here http://www.filefactory.com/f/e3e8b30e62a4a8aa/ all require a premium account because they are over the 500MB limit.
Can anyone tell me where I can please get an RUU to restore my phone to working order, or if there's another method available? Thankyou very much for your help.

Thankyou for the suggestion, but the problem with that method is that once again the ROM I want to flash has to be moved over to the virtal SD card of my phone. Since the ROM on it is currently not working I can't copy anything across to the SD card through the usual means. Is there a way I can copy it across using fastboot, as that is still working fine? I had a look at the fastboot help and there didn't seem to be any way. What I need is a ROM that can be flashed over fastboot, which I understand can be done with the stock RUUs?
I'm not panicking, I know that I will be able to get it back up and running, I just need a bit of help to get there.
Boot into bootloader and from there to recovery , mounts and storage - mount as USB ....and you have a working sd card to copy the rom.zip file to
Copy the rom.zip to the card and copy the boot.img from the rom.zip to the fastboot folder.
Flash the boot.img and flash the rom from recovery ..... Are u using cwm recovery 5.8.4.0

Thankyou so much for that suggestion. That would really help. I'm sorry, I don't know what I did, but now if I try to go into recovery the recovery flashes breifly on screen and then it resets. I tried reflashing it, using the All In One toolkit and using Fastboot.exe. I also tried flashing both the CWM recovery and the TWRP recovery, neither of them worked.
Thankyou for your help again, I'm sorry but recovery was working before, I think all I did was flash a boot.img but could that break recovery? I even tried going through the whole relock, flash firmware.zip, unlock, flash recovery procedure to see if that would work but it didn't.
Do a fastboot command
Put the phone in bootloader / fastboot USB menu
Fastboot erase cache
Check if you can enter recovery after that

Thankyou! That fixed the recovery issue. Once I could get into recovery I could copy across the ROM, flash it, flash boot.img (not that that was a problem) and my phone is now in woring order again.
Once again, many many thanks.
Glad you got it sorted !

Try to use ADB to flash another recovery while in fastboot I believe its "adb flash recovery /folder/folder/recoveryfilename.zip" see if that works. If adb gives you a permission error type into BASH terminal (Ubuntu/Debian) or command prompt (win) "adb root". If that recovery works there should be an option somewhere to Mount the SD card. Make sure the recovery you flash is built for your device.

but i don't think that this will solve his problem, i think that something messed up his partitions, probably he will need to run a RUU and see if that works

Post the result of: fastboot getvar version-main
We Will then see whether your device has a ruu for it or not...
If you need help in flashing recovery.. Use the command posted by matt.. Don't forget to erase fastboot cache as well!

Here's the ruu for your device : http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/1...-r-radio-5120416229-release-302015-signedexe/
Download it. Lock your Bootloader : fastboot oem lock
Then run the ruu with admin privileges. It will take your phone back to full stock!
If your problem doesn't solve even now, it might be a hardware failure of some sort...

first flash the recovery in ur mobile if its bootloader is unlocked
Then you can do it with a nandroid backup !
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1975140
Go there and download the matching nandroid of your cid and main !
You need to flash the boot.img from the nandroid and unpack the nandroid to the phones sdcard then perform a full wipe and restore the nandroid.
It might need a JTAG.
