[Q] Missed Calls/SMS LED Flash Indication? - Bada Software and Hacking General

I'm looking for app / wgt that will flash LED (camera LED flash) on S8530 when I have missed calls or sms.
Does such app exists? Or is it possible somehow make such app for S5830?

I don't know of such an application, though it should be possible to develop one.

Where I can post this idea so someone can make such app? I think it's will be pretty popular app!

Wait? Why do you even need such a app? Usually, your phone will be placed on a flat surface or your pocket, THen the camera LED flash is useless! And also, if you say your phone is in silent mod, Don't you think the flash is going to disturb you silence!

[Q] flash when taking pictures

Hey..
I've noticed that when I want to take a picture with flash in a complete darknes, there's no pre-flash, so I cannot see what I'm about to take picture of.
1. Is this behaviour normal or is it just my phone
2. Is there any hacks which would enable LED flash before actually pressing the "take picture" button (vhen recording video it works)
Does anyone know what I'm talking about (I suck at english)
Search the market, see if there is a flashlight app that can run in the background, that could solve your problem

so, it looks like this is normal behaviour then
I have flashlight app, but it stops working when I switch application...
It would be best, if flash would turn on when a switch it to (flash on) in camera app.
Does this bother only me

Change LED flash color per operation

I did a search and didn't find anything(although I used the mobile app to search, read:aggravating)on this subject. I want to know if there is a mod to change the led flash to blue for messages and missed calls instead of red. Just a personal aggravation, really. Not something I absolutely can't live without, clearly.

The only thing I know of is to use GO SMS. You can change the LED to blue for SMS messages through GO SMS but I don't think it will change the color for missed calls.
LightFlow has been working very well for me on default mode on EL29 and FC22. Only blue and red work, but they work reliably. You can get purple to work if you use "direct mode", but I find that the LED turns off when the phone goes to sleep mode, so it's not very useful as a notification light.
re
I as well have been looking for a WAY or MOD or APP that will successfully allow me to change the LED notification accordingly but yet have been able to find anything that FULLY works. Liteflow doesnt FULLY work as the adjustments are off and when screen times out its pointless pretty much.
The ONLY thing Iv been able to find for another "notification method" is having the LED Flash from the Camera flash for an alert. Pretty cool thought if you have your phone faced down and dont here it.... Send me a message as for request if anyone wants the know how to set that up and I'll give you step by step..
try blink from the marketplace. its like lightflow, but its much lighter and more efficient and works great.
keep in mind the led will only display blue red or purple tho.
blink is one of my must have apps

[App][2.1+] Notifications for missed calls and SMS without Led light

Hi all, one thing that I cant understand is the lack of proper notifications on some Android devices like the Samsung Galaxy series (I & II), we dont have a small led light like other phones (or blackberry) so u have to turn on the screen in order to check for missing calls or SMS.
So I made this small app for that, is free (without Ads ) and simple, u can setup the frequency of notifications, use vibration and/or sound and/or turn on the screen for just a second (that means almost no battery usage).
Well thats all, I hope u can find it useful, please feel free to send any comment/suggestion/bugs
The app name is "No Led Notifications" u can find it in the market.

How to make repeated notification for missed calls or Msg?

Hi,
Using GNex with stock JB 4.11.
With my former dumb phone, when I missed a call or a msg, the phone made a brief sound notification periodically as a reminder. With the GNex, there is no reminder. I must wake up the phone and notice a tiny icon in the notification area. Is it possible to configure the GNex to remind by vibration & sound missed events (calls, message, and possibly calendar)?
Thanks.
Although people mostly recommend Light Flow (Light Flow Lite) for controlling the LED, it also controls notification sounds/vibration if you want. It can do repeating notification sounds on whatever interval you'd like.
Its a bit of a hassle to set up though because you need to turn off all notifications in the app natively, then use Light Flow as your only way of controlling them, iirc.
Hi,
Cool thanks. I will check that out. BTW, I find the periodic notification of missed events a useful feature. How come such an advanced device cannot do such a simple thing? I assume "simple" because that is what a dumb phone can do. Or is there any technical / logical reason for not doing this kind of notification in the world of smartphone?

I would assume that the repeat notification option isn't really as necessary when you have a really good notification system that keeps everything together in one place. Not to mention that people kinda live on their phones nowadays, so I guess they assume people won't be missing notifications that often.
GoSMS has the ability to have "reminders"

phone service disappear when switch tabs

Hey everybody,
I use cm11:
if a switch the phone app (not dialer! (truephone)) in the taskbar during a call to another app, (lets say telegram to check something..) and get back to the phone app its not possible. its seems the phone app is just invisible, cause the call is still running and its possible to open the dialer to end the call. but the proximity sensor is only working in the phone app.. is there a way to make the phone app visible again?
Or is there maybe a solution to change the aosp stock phone app to another one?
thanks everybody!
