compatible kernels with synergy+godmode rls1? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there all, first post and its great to be here. On to the question or request rather. I have recently rooted my EVO using revolutionary (great work by those guys), and originally flashed cm7, I started searching around for new roms and flashed synergy+godmode rls1, now I'm looking to increase the battery life by flashing a custom kernel, the only problem is, every time Ii do so, it gets stuck on the white HTC screen.
I have let the phone sit for about 20 minutes before doing a battery pull. I tried lithids kernel and golden monkey to no avail. Am I doing something backwards or is there an issue elsewhere? I have wiped cache, data and dalvik cache.

I'm going to take a guess at it since your not on right now and I'm about to go to bed, but Im going to venture out and say that your probably using clockworkmod as your recovery. Download and install amon ra 2.3. Wipe what you wiped before 3 times and try to flash again. If this wasn't the case please disregard this reply.
sent from my nike crushing Godmode Synergistic EVO!

i use also Amon_Ra recovery.and didnt encounter any problem on flashing kernels and rom.
Synergy Godmode Rsl1+Aggressive Freedom kernel+cpu overclock = superfast Fast Evo

I just switched over to Amon Ra, and attempted to flash the Aggressive FREEDOM-Synergy GODMODE kernel, i still just get the HTC EVO 4g white screen for ever.
It's been approximately 10 minutes sinced I flashed the kernel and the phone has done nothing but stare at me with it's googly white screen...
I wiped data/cahe/dalvik-cache three times as instructed but I still have no success?
EDIT:
Android Version: 2.3.3
Sense Version: 2.1
Software: 4.24.651.1
PRI: 2.15_003
Kernel: 2.6.35.10
Baseband: 2.15.00.05.02
Build: Synergy (RLS1 + GodMode)
Hardware Ver.: 0004

Problem solved
Seems as though the Agressive-Freedom-GODMODE kernel has something wrong with it, or my phone does not take too kindly to that kind.
I flashed the Aggressive-Freedom-UNIVERSAL kernel and it works just fine. Thanks for everyone's time.
side note:: If the flash works properly it should say "Congratulations youre now running Lithid's sense kernel" (or something along those lines). Which I did not get previously.

New edit:: since I could not find a fix for the wifi, I flashed my recovery and have. Not been able to flash a new kernel since. Basically what I am looking for is a kernel to be able to OC and undervolt, not sure if synergy supports this or not. If not that's fine but, ant Roman out there that may be slightly better than synergy godmode with some sense 3.0 features?

[Q] Major problem with Skyraider 3.3 ROM and battery!!

I am having several major problems with my phone ever since I tried flashing some new stuff over the Skyraider 3.3 final ROM!! Everything was fine, except for the extremely excessive battery drain after I installed the ROM the first time. Then I flashed a splash zip and also the blue battery circle zip and last but not least the #5 kingxklick bfs kernal. Ever since then my phone has gone berserk. When I hold down my power button, not only does the screen for all of the options(hibernation, power down, reboot, etc..) not come up, it just goes straight to my bootanimation screen and it boots back up. Also, the excessive battery drain has gotten worse!! So, I booted back into recovery and did a restore. This seemed to stop the craziness of my phone, unfortunately it still just reboots when I hold the power button down and the excessive battery drain is still going on!!! Anyone have any suggestions? I'm afraid to do anything else because it seems that I have done enough for right now top screw it up!
Make sure you're not overclocking more than your phone can handle (if at all).
I'm running this same combo (SR 3.3/Kingxkernel BFS #5) and it's working quite well for me with good battery life.
If you choose to reinstall, do a complete wipe/cache wipe *twice* from the recovery menu before flashing.
First of all, Thank you very much!! I know this is a dumb question, but how do I check to see if I'm overclocking? I don't know how to do that, obviously. Ha.
that rom is dependant on radio, and HBoot being up to date. If you don't meet both, you will have problems. I had all sorts of issues with 3.3 when I installed it only to find you have to have s-off, 2.15 radio, and .79 Hboot. The reboot problem is more than likely the Hboot, anything below .79 frow what I understand will not support the new hibernation modes, which causes the reboot.

I was using the hibernation mode every night since it came out on .77 HBOOT with no issues. I only just now updated HBOOT cause I got bored and wanted the newest one lol.. But yeah, was I just lucky? :/

Went from CR 6.1.1 back to Warm 2.2 having problems

Basically when I install the warm 2.2 rom it will hang on the htc evo screen. I had flashed this rom earlier this morning and it flashed fine. Ever since I've flashed CR 6.1.1 this afternoon i've been having problems. Even my baked snack 1.9 rom is very slow but comes up after either sitting at the Green HTC text after it has booted. I had to power down the phone a few times to even get that to come up. Is there something I'm doing wrong here all the sudden? I am clearing davlik and partition cache, even tried to wide data/restore to no avail. I'm at a loss here. Anyone have any input here? As I type this, I just did a complete wipe and tried to install Warm 2.2 and it is just sittin at the white screen that says HTC EVO 4G. Powered down a few times and removed battery for a minute to no avail, still just sits at that white screen.
I am able to restore from nandroid. I am also able to isntall a few roms.
Thanks
Dave
Uh, what kernel/radios are you using? I had similar problems when I flashed the all in one radio combo in calk's thread.
That is exactly what I did too, flashed the radios. How did you resolve that issue? I dind't even think that would cause these types of problems.
I just put on Fresh 3.5 and it installed fine. I am using kernel 2.6.32.17-gee557fd (under it says [email protected] #15 (Which kernel would that be?) PRI is 1.90_003
Well I downgraded the radio to2.15.00.09.01 and I got past the white screen and into warm. THanks much!! I had no idea that a radio would just cause it to hang like that. So the only way to revert back to an old radio file is to install it? A nanrestore doesn't do that it appears??
Thanks very much
Dave

[Q] MIUI causing desire to reboot?

I would like to know if anyone else has experienced similar issues using any of the MIUI roms?
If you have experienced this how did you remedy the situation?
So here is the story:
I was never keen on using MIUI roms as i am a fan of sense, but lately i have been growing tired of sense and have been looking for greener pastures.
My device is rooted(S-On, pvt-3, 0.93 hboot) and i have been running plenty of custom(sense based) roms with no trouble. Last night i flashed Pays MIUI rom and the phone was rebooting evey few minutes ... so i decided to call it a night and went to bed ... then this morning i went to the MIUI site and downloaded the latest 0.12.24(or something) and the phone was running smoothly the whole day without any hicups ... or reboots ... yes you guessed it ... now its rebooting again!
I dont think its the hardware on my device as i havnt experienced any problems with any other roms, and i perform a full wipe each time i flash.
Any advice would be greatly appretiated, thanx in advance!
Try flashing this kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=472705&d=1293232742
it could be that the HAVS kernel is causing your problems. This is a SVS kernel and should be more stable for some people.
Wipe dalvik cache after you flashed the kernel (same way as flashing rom). Disable verfication before flashing.

Thank you for the reply ... i also thought it might have something to do with the kernal, will flash after the phone has charged ... will post results!

[Q] Phone will not reboot properly

I am having a weird problem with my phone. It will not reboot properly. When I select reboot, it will shutdown fine, but hang at the 'HTC EVO 4G' splash screen. The only way to fix it is to pull the battery, boot into Recovery and wipe cache/dalvik-cache. After that, it'll reboot (although it sometimes takes several minutes before progressing past the splash screen to the bootanimation screen - then its the normal wait for cache to be rebuilt) and everything is fine until I reboot it again. This has been an issue with several ROMs I've tried: Calkulin 1.7.7, Calk 1.8, EVO ZONE (based on Calk's 1.7.7 and 1.8). I've also tried several kernels as well: Netarchy 4.3.2 cfs (havs, nohavs, more, less, noUV), Ziggy471.
Has anyone ran into this issue?
HTC EVO 4G
Hardware 002
Amon-RA 2.3 recovery
16 GB Class 6 (1GB EXT3 partition)
As far as I know, none of these ROMs has apps2sd or dalvik-cache2sd enabled by default (I may be wrong about the cache2sd, not sure).
What PRI are you running?
Pri = 1.90_003
prl = 60662
As long as the Rom's are 3.70 based or AOSP there should be no issues then.
Maybe an app writing to dalvik causing issues.
Use quick boot and use power off and just turn it back on yourself. It works for me. If I choose reboot it will to like yours does.
Swyped from my sexy EVO.

I'll use this method next time and see if it works. What ROM do you use that gives you this same problem?

[Q] HELP Flashed new kernel, capacitive hardware buttons stopped working

Hey, I've been a lurker at XDA for a while, flashing away, learning a good deal. I'm no pro, but I wouldn't call myself a total novice either...
I've got Evo hardware version 003, clockworkmod 5.0.0.2 ,
rom is Energy 2.6.2012
Everything was nice, but I decided to try an SBC kernel, so I wiped partition/dalvik, and flashed 4.3.4-445-netarchy-toastmod cfs havs less , waited for it to boot, then noticed that Home, Menu, Back, and Search do not work, or even light up. Volume rocker and power button did work, though. So I'm like, damn, and went to flash htc stock kernel,
then flashed 2.6.32.17-gee557fd htc [email protected] # 15 , but the buttons still don't work. I rebooted a few times, cleared partition/dalvik again, still nothing.
Any suggestions?
just flashed aggressive freedom .9 universal and now the buttons are working again, though not lighting up... which I'm ok with..
But, could anyone tell me what I could have done wrong to cause this?
or provide any kernel recommendations for this particular rom?
and let me know if i'm breaking any rules by this content posting here
The reason you ran into problems is because you flashed the sbc kernel. Sense Sbc kernels were only for sense froyo roms so you flashed a froyo kernel on a gingerbread rom so it broke some things on the rom

Aah! Ok, thank you!
