Hi,
I was trying to search for "Better Keyboard" on the market. It appears that there are over 800 results, however I only see the first few results and it won't load more. Is there any way to fix this issue, or am I doing something wrong?

I assume you're running the new market. Just click on the applications or show results or something like that. It's the top right of where it shows the first 2 results.

Yes, there are sub-labels:
ANDROID APPS (848 Results)
MOVIES
BOOKS
I click on "Android Apps", and it goes and shows maybe 10-15 results.. and it won't load more.

Here you go. When I scroll down (and it doesn't scroll much), it doesn't load any more results. In addition to this, there's no keys, options, anything that specifies more results. I can't actually find the Better Keyboard app itself.. and I know there's a crapton of skins for the app. Alas, I only get to see the top few results.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Better Keyboard 8 has a lot of sick looking skins. Yeah, I'm going for looks lol.
I found out the problem and I was dumb for not checking it. I looked up "clock", and the results were flowing in like crazy after 13k results. I am assuming the Market app has a bug with certain search criteria as I remember that Better Keyboard had a plethora of results to browse through when I searched for it in the old Market.
Thanks for your help!

Damn!
Well I guess I could google the apk file and snatch it off of mediafire somewhere...
While you're here, would you by chance know of any popular keyboards that you can skin? I'm searching too but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.
Specifically, I'm going for an ultra-futuristic looking, blue-glow type of look. Better Keyboard had this tron skin that glowed and stuff.. it looked pretty sick, wish I had a screenie of it.

If you can wait: wait for Open Split keyboard (I'm beta testing it.) I can change the label as well as key colors (I'll post a screenshot momentarily) I have red with blue labels. I'm alpha testing so if you are able to wait, just be patient, if not, just google Better Keyboard 8.apk
Although they did say they would be posting the keyboard (better keyboard) on amazon appstore and other alternative market and I would prefer you support the devs.

Good call, would love to see that done.
Working on it. I love google currents.I'll be a few days for a rough version and a few more to polish. I'll release after the polish
Any progress on this?
Would love to see this too
Hey guys sorry about that. While currents is possible to invert, it was simply taking too much time and every fix borked something else up. It has to do with how the code was written in terms of how images are drawn- there is an easy way, and there is google currents.

However I have it running on Xoom Tab. If you are rooted - place the .apk

If checked permission and still install error probable device compatibility issue.

That worked, thanks. Looks good, nice job.
EDIT: Think I found a bug tho, tried to add more news feeds and category list is blacked out. The words show up and space turns orange when pressed then back to black when let go.
Also, page indicator on main screen underneath news feeds is barely visible.

then its your device theme blacking the white for that area. If you look in the pics I posted, that is how it looks on my device it is white. (no theme)
Nah I'm on cm10 with system theme which is stock jb.
Might just be a cm bug or something.
EDIT: Think I figured it out. The category list shows just like yours in landscape but the problem occurs in portrait.
[TIP/TRICK] How to get ICS blue in Text Notify Premium (& possibly other apps too)
I have been using Text Notify forever now on all my phones, so when I saw the Premium version is available (and for only 99c), I jumped at the chance to get custom colors for my "toast" style text notifications and support a deserving dev. Instead of listing all my favorite features of the app, I will leave you with a link.
I wrote the dev inquiring about how I can get the ICS blue. (those color slider things are not my strong point). He wrote me back almost immediately letting me know an easy little trick to accomplish this, and told me it was alright with him if I shared it here. He also added that the trick is not limited to his app, but can also work with other apps. I'm sure most of you themers already know these workarounds, but for others like me I hope this will be useful.
So on to the ICS blue color trick for Text Notify Premium..
1. Open Root Explorer and go to the highest folder level you can (should have acct, cache, config, d, and data folders ect.)
2. Navigate to data/data/com.riley.textnotifydonate/shared_prefs/
3. Long press com.riley.textnotifydonate_preferences.xml, choose Open With, then select Text Editor.
4. Change the value of the color you want to change (textcolor = text color,
textbackground = text background, emailcolor = email text color,
emailbackground = email notification background, if I remember everything correctly). Change the value to -13388315. That will be the ICS Blue.
5. Click the back button, choose Yes to save changes. You [must] delete the .bak file it creates.
6. Open TN and click on the setting you changed just to make sure everything changed correctly. It should be the value you want when you open it up.
Click to collapse
That was part of the conversation I had with the dev this morning before he added an outline color, rounded edges, & time to display the notification. You can change the outline color the same way. Here is a screenshot of how I have mine set up:

Hmmm.. The idea of the app, to me anyways..is that when your playing lets say, GTA3, you dont have to stop running from the cops to see a "you have reached 25% of your mobile data" text message. However, if you are beating up on a hooker and you get a "Honey I just went into labor" text message, you can think about pausing the game and going to the hospital. Adding a quick reply that would pause the game, or worse, open a quick reply when you touch the toast notif would imo defeat the purpose of the app. But again that is just my opinion and the dev can/will add any option he wants, that's just my thoughts on the idea.
EDIT: Maybe you would enjoy the quick reply feature of "Handcent" or a similar SMS app? If you haven't tried that yet maybe give it a go?.

I want to start with saying that this theme is an paid theme through google play but I attached the uzip for the widget to left.
In other word, that one is free of charge and modifiable!.Just wanted to let that be said before anyone goes rampage cause I put a lot
of work in making this. The 4 months of wait for UCCW to implement high resolution support was terrible (not complaining!) ;_;
The last screenshots shows the beta version I created. As for now, the theme takes up the whole screen as you can see in the other screenshots.
To emphasize, I tested this on my Nexus 7, the widgets should fit perfectly.
If you're a N4 user you might have seen it over there as well. I thought I maintain a thread here as well since after all, I'm a N7 owner!
Installing uzip theme files:
Download UCCW and add a UCCW widget to your homescreen, select "uzip" and browse and select the theme.

Did it work out in the end? Sometimes uccw shows white widget when refreshing for a split second, but it should get back to normal right after that.
Didn't do it on my vibrant, so just removed and readded it and edited it all at the same time. Had a few moments where it just showed image place holders and no images.

Did you maybe consume all the ram available? Another thing, how does the widget look on the vibrant? It got a display of 480 x 800 after all and the theme was recommended to be used on a 720p screen.

You can see the ram consumption in settings, sometimes uccw can take up to 80mb which is one of the reason I recommend this on a phone with at least 720p (those phones usually have decent specs). Thanks for the screenshots, how does it look in real life though? I will assume the text is barely readable?
369mb for memory under the settings.. Running Paranoid Android 2.54 (android 4.1.2). Text ain't too bad, I have it setup in phablet mode anyways to get more space on the home screens.

That should be enough! You might want to send a letter to the UCCW developer as I never had this issue before. And thanks for telling me that the text was readable, I havent personally tried it on that resolution yet.

Yeah, I have no idea what is taking google so long to review my account. Just sent them another email (an hour ago) asking them if you're even working.
Gotta love Google... I know one of their things, if an app is downloaded from any updates have to be done through them as well. Not to mention anything within the app can't be downloaded from outside sources either. Do I sense, Apple's methods coming to the play store? lol

Hi Guys,
I recently saw a homescreen posted in the homescreen forum for the HTC One M8 that I really just loved. I tried contacting the person who created it, but he hasn't quite replied and Im unsure if he will.
I don't mean to intentionally rip him off, but I just love the way it looks and how clean it is that I wish to have it on my phone. However I have no clue how to do this. I figured the best and easiest way was to ask him about it directly, or even ask in the forum itself. But it seems as though its been skimmed over and no one has replied, so I hope you don't mind me creating a new thread just for it.
He gives the zooper widgets for the top and bottom bars, which i downloaded, he gives the list of apps used. But me being a fairly new techy, I have no idea what to do. I can get all these apps, its just a matter of using them correctly.
I figured that maybe some of you guys knew what to do? Maybe help me on my way?

Cheers,
Also is a root required? As I currently havent got mine rooted, and I'm not sure if I should!
Cheers,
Get all the apps he listed. He's also using custom icons, looks like they're Cyrcle (in the store). Then, simply add widgets. Honestly, that set up looks like it took him a while. I'd download the launcher called Buzz Launcher, since there are many ones just like that in the community downloads
As it's fun to find out about and doing these changes all by yourself I'll give you only some additional information for success:
'Coming from N5' implements, he is running the GPE version for this device (any AOSP/AOKP rom should do as well - as a sense rom might behave different under some circumstances)
To change screen density you have to edit /system/build.prop by finding the line ro.sf.lcd_density=480 and change its value to 400. Reboot...
This set of icons always has to do sth with the word circles - a proper search might bring you here.
Remove everything from screen, check nova settings and now start playing around initially with zooper widgets and the rest of his tools.
The result should be this screen. Have fun!
---- edit
Oooops - forgot the wallpaper. TinyEye reverse search will bring you here.
One more thing: Without root you won't be able to edit build prop. Remember: No root - no fun.
Looks to me like he's using themer.
Looks like a lot of work done using UCCW and a custom launcher such as ssLauncher to open up the whole screen
Anybody knows the white icon pack being used here?
Just download Themer from Google Play, there's dozens of themes many like this too.

This is for all of those things that make Fire TV irritating at times like the frustrating search keyboard that always pops up when using a browser.
There has got to be an app or service you can disable to make the onscreen search keyboard stop appearing so we can seamlessly use any web browser uninterrupted.
Maybe we can also get a different onscreen keyboard that can be toggled if needed for whatever reason.
Whenever a fix for removing the onscreen search is found,or if it was already found, please post it in this thread with instructions on how to do it.

There's an app called Null Keyboard but without the ability to select a different keyboard It's not usable. :/
Seems a bit pointless to mention it at all,in that case. lol
Just want to sedate the onscreen search box.
The biggest drawbacks are that you can't go back to a certain word to edit it,and you can't hit enter to make a new line for more sentences.
It also automatically reloads the page in flash browser, and it always randomly appears in FireFox simply because a search bar exists on the webpage you navigated to and it also manipulates the page when backing out, thus opening again immediately when the page loads again, possibly trapping you in an infinite loop unless you press the home button to leave it entirely.
In some cases,it can be inescapable even after typing something.
Another thing to fix by changing it is microphone acccess for apps that utilize it.
I don't know if this can be fixed wthout getting something custom.

Was looking around on fire tv and found /system/etc/whitelist.json. It looks like it's a whitelist of app names that are shown on the launcher but I'm not exactly sure. Maybe someone else knows more about it.. Haven't seen any mention of it so just wanna throw it out there.

Hmmm that is interesting:
_https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sanriodigital.google.helloKittyGarden
_????????????????????????????????????id=com.sanriodigital.amazon.helloKittyGarden
_https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gameresort.sz2google
_????????????????????????????????????id=com.gameresort.sz2amazon
There seems to be a relation to the Amazon vs Google Play Store.....

That is pretty interesting. The last part (patterns) looks like it whitelists anything for amazon. Wonder if we can just use "*" and have every installed app show?
edit: nope, wildcard didn't work.
edit2: maybe the pattern needs to be "*\.*\.*"?
edit3: nope.

Where are the strings coming from with the question marks in them? I doni't see them in the JSON file.
I tried appending org.xbmc.xbmc to the list with no effect.
I think a JSON call is some flavor of database call, and what the list is really saying is "these apps can make that call."

I just thought it was striking that the google play store url was so similar to the the listed amazon packages, thought that might give a opening to change "amazon" into "play.google" somewhere to get acces to google instead of amazon apps directly.

It has nothing to do with urls. Those are the package names and the developers just decided to name their packages in a way that you can tell if it was from Google or Amazon. Also, the "Your Apps Library" will only show apps in your Amazon Cloud. You'll notice if for some reason the Fire TV can't connect to the Internet, every menu is empty. It's all loaded with content directly from Amazon. I have an idea for an xposed module to add an extra row to show sideloaded apps in the Apps menu, but it'll be a little tricky.
If it has an app,we need to know what the name is for the onscreen search box so it can be disabled for web browsers and other things it causes major problems for.
It has simethis to do with kiwi.. Look at what in the amazon apps apk.. Its got kiwi stuff and other files..

Are you sure about that?
I personally thought its the whitlist for the WebView/WebChromeClient. Noticed that the AFTV blocks externals links, but not from these apps (tested hulu+ and vevo).
