Is it worth to buy invisible shield on HTC Desire Z.... thanks for reply
Your preference. I say yes because the dz is thick enough already so dont wana buy a case to make it more thick

I believe the screen on the Desire Z/Vision is all ready pretty darn tough all ready as evident by this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kwd3v4cgVc
But I have a screen protector on mine, not an invisableSHIELD one but just a generic one.
This
What about this( http://www.mp3.sk/htc-hc-c540-ochranny-obal-pre-htc-desire-z-p-108316.html ) and invisible shield ... good choice?
The g2 already has gorilla glass so I'd just get a cheap Screen protector that works well. Invisible shield is good but I'm beginning to get less and less fond of it as I have it on other devices.

FYI in case you aren't aware: the invisible shield is NOT smooth. It has a sort of rubbery texture; a lot of people describe it as "orange peel" texture. I've tried it before and I'm personally not a fan. Just so you know, don't expect some sort of smooth, glossy surface after applying it.
I had the Zagg InvisibleShield on my hero before. It was decent and got the job done. Didnt add any thickness to it and it kept the device free from scratches. The only complaint is that it is a wet-application procedure and the texture. The wet-application is not for the faint of heart and you should have it done by a 'professional' so it looks decent.
Also, the rubbery texture was nice for the body (enhances grip) but might be annoying on the screen. I have the screen protector only from Zagg for my Iconia Tab, its not a huge annoyance, but it will take some getting used to the texture.
If you dont mind adding alittle more bulk, id recommend the Otterbox commuter case, comes with a smooth, texture free screen protector and you can drop the phone like a madman and it will survive =). That is what i have right now, i wish they had a case for my Iconia =(

You're right, I forgot people used the whole device skin. When I used it, it was only the screen protector part. Having that kind of texture on the screen is definitely not a desirable thing.

There is indeed texture on the screen protector, and it doesn't look or feel good. Google "invisibleshield screen protector orange peel"

The first question you should be asking is whether you need a screen protector for this phone...HOX comes with gorilla glass which can resist scratches and other atrocities better than any screen protector in the market...so why spend money on such things..besides a screen protector makes the screen look even worse..

Look around in some of the previous screen protector threads. Many users have reported getting small scratches on the screen. Therefore I think a screen protector is essential. Screen protectors can degrade the quality a little, but clear type ones do not take that much away. I am a big fan of matte screen protectors (they are the worst in terms of screen quality degradation) but what good is a screen if its filled with finger prints and cant read under glare ? I personally prefer a legible clean screen over a sharper smudgy one. So quality is a highly subjective matter. Unfortunately I didn’t come across a wet install type matte screen protector yet, so I went with a clear type one. To my surprise it does quite well repelling fingerprints. Better than not having one.

Scratching and breaking are two different things. I'm sure the screen is pretty tough, but that doesnt mean its scratch proof.
@OP
Most regular (dry install) type screen protectors wont fit properly with the curved edges of One X, therefore some manufacturers (i.e: SGP) make them much smaller than the actual screen size; but the problem is then you can clearly see the edge of the protector. I’d recommend a wet install type instead, they usually go right to the edge and don’t cause bubbling. I am using this. Its pretty good for the price.

Gorilla glass is NOT scratch proof is scratch resistant, and it can be scratached: my motorola milestone , my inspire 4g had gorilla glass and trust they got scratched, even my galaxy s ii got some tiny scratches, and i have read tons of reports of the one x gettin micro scratches so id like an screen protector

Oh no, i had a protector smaller than the screen of my galaxy nexus and it had so much dirt on the borders, i will make sure to get one that covers the whole screen
Ive done a bit more reasearch, the ZAGG HD is sold ONLY through bestbuy , and the sgp protectors for the one x are only dry applications, not wet but what-s the difference between the flex and the oleophobic?
oleophobic resists the oil from your hands and is supposed to smudge less. You can get zagg HD from their web site cheaper than what you can buy them for at best buy. I ordered the Spigen slim case for mine and it came with an oleophobic screen protector. It was easy to apply but I happen to like SPG's screen protectors.
Which one covers the whole screen and is hardest to tell that it Its there. Also one that gives most protection

It's not the same, it's 'a little bit' more tacky & less smooth compared to BSE, im not sure if skinomi have fixed the speckled glue issue either.
The main difference is thickness, skinomi is thicker.

http://protectionfilms24.com/
Ive bought both a BSE and a SGP screen protector. will apply the sgp firs since the case im going to use only shows the screen. so looks like it will be the best for that and the BSE for when i decide to go caseless
I finally broke down and got an S3 today and also picked up a pack of the ridiculously expensive stick-on screen protectors that Verizon sells as I didn't want to take any chances in between buying the phone and getting some cheap ones. Anyway, the screen looks very grainy with the protector, especially when displaying lighter images. I really don't mind that much but when I'm taking pictures it really bugs me. I was wondering if anyone knows of a screen protector for the S3 that is durable but doesn't make the screen look all grainy.
Thanks!

I'm not a fan of cases in general, so I bought an Armor Shield full-body protector - essentially it's like screen protector film, but they send precut pieces to protect all of the phone rather than just the screen.
I'm really really impressed with the whole package - the body parts are cool in that they really just give a great grip (the stock phone is really slippery), but the screen protector is really impressive in all the ways screen protectors have disappointed me in the past.
This one doesn't feel rubbery (interestingly, since the body parts add grip), in fact my finger glides on it better than the glass surface. That was surprising.
And, this one doesn't collect fingerprint grease.
I'm betting armor shield sells the screen protectors solo... and probably affordable, I think the whole body package with the screen protector was only $15.
And it's clear, I think for your original question, just avoid "matte finish" screen protectors. Those are the ones with the hazy/grainy finish.
Just in the market for a new screen protector and wanted some input from you guys.
So what is the current screen protector that you guys are rocking on your S3?
Also, how do screen protectors stack up to each other?
(Zagg vs Ghost Armor vs Mercury vs Spigen vs Military Shield and others)
Spigen Curved Crystal! Its a dry install protector thats almost edge to edge maybe a few mm's short, but it definitely sticks on the edges. Feels and looks like there as if nothing on the screen. Only complaint is that is does scratch somewhat easily but whatever. Also two protectors come in each pack.
I always used clear-coat on my devices. Love their products and customers support. Just bought me some xtreme guards and love it also.. very cheap and works awesome.

any idea of what may a good matte screen protector that goes all the way to the edges? most i've found are all too small
quick tip dont buy the £4 ones from sainsburys they dont cover the full screen and make the touchscreen unresponsive
My favorite is the dba just like glass
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
these are the three I like.
skinplayer 3D mask film for edge to edge coverage, once on you don't notice it.
fonemax glass screen protector
mercury edge to edge protector with colour boarder.
I use Vikuiti. It's less well-known, but the people who've seen often don't notice I even have a protector on, until I point it out to them. It doesn't cover the whole front, and is pretty much made to fit the width of the screen, and length of the phone. Haven't found the need to use any other brand of protectors so far :good:
I would suggest Spigen Ultra Crystal! Good protection, scratch resistance, fit to any case!..
Hands down Steinhill ultra crystal...
It's the best, it's thick but not to thick, feels like glass, smooth as can be.. They are just the best I tried all other protectors nothing comes close.... I don't buy any other for my phones..
I bought a bunch from DealExtreme. They are extremely cheap and high quality. Since most people in manufacturing in China nowadays, possibly the ones I got are the exact same ones sold by brand names for 100x more.

I did a quick search and couldn't find much on this topic for this phone, specifically.
For those of you who have bought/used a screen protector for this phone, which brand would you recommend for? recommend against? And why?
ScreenProtector
Hey, personally i just bought the HD Zagg shield for the screen. Compared to other screens out there its a little more expensive, but you cant argue with the clarity and protection it gives. Plus it doesn't distort the picture at all and for a phone like the LGOG screen resolution is killer.
Screen Protector. What is that? LOL, no need with these new phones. My 2 cents.
I too prefer the zagg invisashields
I got the Ghost Armor because it is almost like the HD Invisible Shield.
Full body for $30. Feels like I'm touching the screen itself.
If you really want protection then go for the regular Zagg.

Awesome, and it's not forcing the edges up at all?
Sent from my Sprint LG Optimus G
The edges come up if I apply really hard pressure to the edges of the case. The key I have found is that when inserting the phone into the case, insert it at an angle under the lip of the case so that you are sure that the lip rests on top of the screen protector and not adjacent to it. Basically, imagine the amount of extra pressure you need to apply (compared to just holding the phone normally) to click one of the volume buttons while the phone is in the case. Now multiply that 5x. That's about how hard I have to push on the sides of the case if I want the case to force the up the screen protector. In my experience, unless I really try, the screen protector does not bubble up when in the Diztronic case and so it just not an issue for me.

I didn't have a screen protector on my phone for the first month, and it got some very light scratches. Also, the center of the screen had its coating rubbed off somewhat (the screen cleaner beaded differently in the center when sprayed on.) I usually use the Zagg HD shields, they covered up the light scratches and protect the phone nicely, I can barely tell that its on.

agreed, can't say enough good about these Spigen screen protectors.
The UQ is amazing but fingerprinty. They are hard to install perfect, but are dry installed. Clean up your dusty environment before you attempted to install one because the tiniest speck will show.
Still not sure how it happened, but I found a few minor scratches on my "gorilla" glass recently. There's never anything in my pocket with my phone, so I really don't understand how they got there.
Anyways, I found a 50% off code for Zagg at RetailMeNot:
feb4
Just ordered a front & back shield for ~$15.50 shipped.
I mean, WTF? Gorilla glass? More like scratch it by looking at it glass. My kid's tossed my HP Touchpad to the ground and smashed trains on it dozens of times and there's not a mark on it. But I put my LGOG in my pocket, take it out, and its scratched. Grrrrrr.
I bought a HD mirror screen protector. I wouldn't advise it. It reminds me of taking your 3D glasses off in the theater and watching the movie. This is while the phone is powered on.
In the sun its hard to see unless its on full display brightness.
These are my findings and opinions. I wouldn't buy it again.

Also, a handy tip. While changing the screen protector I recommend you do it in the bathroom after you have taken bath/shower- The steam does not let any dust sit on your screen and makes life much easier !
