I installed the Calkulin V2.8 ROM over the weekend, and Sprint Zone is one of the apps that was removed by Calkulin for the ROM.
To my surprise when I reviewed my running services I noticed Sprint Zone running!!
I then reviewed my applications, and sure enough Sprint Zone was there! I then downloaded Astro File Manager which showed the date of the apk install - it was today, this afternoon, two hours ago!!
So Sprint must have noticed Sprint Zone was missing on my phone, and somehow auto-pushed the app back go my E4G.
Anyone else notice this? Any other apps that seem to "auto-install" or auto-pushed by Sprint?
idk if it actually did it or not, but i uninstalled sprint installer using titanium backup and stuff didn't reinstall itself anymore. lemme know if it works for you.
I don't mind it being there...was just surprised to see it there. I probably will just leave it there. But the titanium backup removal idea is a superb one. Very interesting to note the auto-install of this app, have never seen anything like this before on any of my other Android phones thus far.
It will always come back. There is a couple apps on a hidden /data directory that make them come back during random reboots.

Some of the hidden ones come back after you boot into stock recovery (look in /preload) Some of them come back as the result of Sprint Installer running in the background.
Not sure if this belongs in Q&A or Themes and Apps but I'm asking a question so here goes...
I had to restore my device last night back to stock, I forgot this would wipe my data, it's been a while. So when I went to reinstall my apps I could no longer find Verizon NFL Mobile in the Market, other Verizon apps show and install fine. So I went to the android market from my PC and tried to push the app to my device but was told my device isn't compatible and was grayed out???
Another strange thing is that it was listed as already installed on my market account from the web browser?? I was eventually able to install it using the Google Wallet trick.
Has it been pulled from the Android Market or is my account screwed up?
Thanks in advance.
noticed this as well, i wiped data to update to another ROM and it was not in Market, had to restore via TiBu
Weird. I have the app, when i try to use it there is a screen to download an update, i select download and it says it's not compatible with my device. WTF!!
There are alot of complaints from nexus owners on their review thread. It will probably get worked out soon.
Sigh, thanks guys. I thought I screwed something up with my restore or market account. I know the season is over but they need to work this crap out.

I have had Crackle installed on my phone since day one basically. I have noticed that in the past month I would get an error on startup (not all the time) that said Crackle had an error. I never paid it any mind until today. I decided I would uninstall it and reboot my phone and reinstall it. I went to the Google market and it says:
Sprint Samsung SPH-D710
This item is not compatible with your device.
Pretty weird since it always was compatible. Anybody know what happened? I was able to use it prior to the uninstall and my wife can use the installed version on her phone (Epic 4G Touch as well). Anybody know what is up?
-c
I got the same thing. I downloaded the apk from 4shared.

Is there any non Root Stock Wifi Tether? Was talking to some guys at sprint, saying they had one and he's not rooted and on stock and it was on Google play but keeps getting removed (I understand why lol) but would anyone know anything about this?

As far as I know, the only way you can get tether (and not let Sprint know) is by rooting, or getting a prepaid monthly plan with Sprint

Hmm. I'm curious how to do it without. Seems just as simple as hacking the app. And sprint will know no matter what. Root or not rooted they will still detect the same way, huge jump in data usage
What about this one?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.tether&hl=en
That requires clockwork mod which usually people only have if there on and off root users.

I don't think it requires a specific recovery. It just requires that you install a specific program on the PC. Just because "ClockworkMod" is in the name doesn't mean it requires ClockworkMod recovery.
I have seen one in the market called portable wifi hotspot by Core Technology for 99ยข (Has good reviews for S3) I'm sure you could Google or torrent it for free. Def. Would not be asking the sprint guys about it because your practically stealing money from them. Or just spend like 5 mins rooting it and get barnicle or the other top wifi tether app..
I see you're still on a mission to prove the point that this phone is perfect and doesnt need rooted despite the issues you posted about previously.between the lack of a shutter sound toggle, borked keyboard, and now wanting to tether. Admit that there is valid reasons to root it and root it. Damn. With all the changes made in the jb update to stop even rooted users from tethering free you wont do it without having to plug in via usb if its even doable. PROMISE. Theres 150 different ways to restore a samsung to stock just root the damn thing.

EndlessDissent is correct, it doesn't require CWM recovery to work
The only catch is that if you're unrooted you need to install a client on your computers side, but other than that it doesnt require any extra work

Lol man, I never said it was perfect or anything like that, some other people where saying that, I just said I like how it is as stock and all that. If I was to root, I'd get to addicted and then super picky and blah blah blah. Made the post because I heard of a non stock way. I only use to root for wifi tether, and some customizations but I don't care for much of it anymore.
Anyways on another note, I tried downloading the clockwork one from the market and it said your phone provider doesn't support this application. I found another but it was glitchy. I'll try alternative download sources of the clockwork one and check into that 99 cent one.
And one of the market issues is that a lot of the wifi tether apps are removed within a couple weeks or sometimes days
FoxFi
I have used this. Easy to use. I cant post links yet, but google FoxFi.
edit: it doesnt work for sprint. Sorry guys

Look up the wifi tether apps from your computer browser (not signed into a google account) and you can view all apps, even if they are removed by Sprint
Then if you want the app you could just google it and there is a high chance you will find it either from the official page itself or a mirror somewhere

Thread Closed per OP's Request.
EDIT:
Reopened as I can't find anything on this and OP said he never wanted it closed. :lost:
My apologies.
Just torrent or Google search the apps doesint matter if they are taken off the market!!! Lol or just root the darn thing !!
On my Sprint GS3 running CM10.1M3, I lost all of my Sprint apps, as one would imagine. The only one I wanted to actually use is Sprint TV so I can watch some shows that I haven't otherwise been able to. I've tried the app through the Play Store but it always crashes when I press the Update button, and the ones that I've downloaded from various websites are all broken and won't load the content, or tell me they can't get my subscription.
Does anyone have the APK for Sprint TV that will work on my device? Or an APK that I can try to use?

As far as I'm aware, Sprint TV isn't available for AOSP roms... I know there's a TW-based one and a Sense-based one (for HTC phones), but not for AOSP roms.
