[Q] Calendar - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Help. Please. I'm looking for a black Calender where the background is black instead of white. Something easier on the eyes. I've searched the forums and can't find one. Just wondering if I were to install a different Rom with a black Calender.apk then use root explorer to copy it to my SD card. Then do a restore to my previous Rom and put the black. Calendar. Apk in the system app folder would it work?
Thanks. DizzyFox

That should work, if you flash over to the best of my knowledge. Unless it is a Sense Rom, which depends on other things. As long as the apk is only altered so that the background color is black, you should be fine.

Thanks I'm running ultimate Droid 3.30 any idea what other ASOP rom would have a black calendar?

You're very welcome and I don't. You could look in the apps and themes section. I recall seeing the transparent widget and apps thread. Maybe they have a black version. If not, search Google. I'm sure someone has made it.

Help skinning dialer

I been lookin into skinnin the dialer in my ROM. I'm wanting to go black but am unable to find all the necessary files I need to edit.
Anyone know all the files needing to be edited?
All the images for the dialer are in Contacts.apk. Careful though, most are the tricky .9.png types. Finally for anything fancy like transparent background for the dialer as a whole, you'll need to decompile and modify xml, I believe.
FYI- Images and functions for in-call screens are in Phone.apk.

i dont have a contacts.apk... just a htccontact which dont contain any dialer images or I'm completely missing something
Sorry I was describing for a vanilla setup. No idea what apk serves up the dialer in Sense.

What rom are you using? I have a custom HtcDialer.apk that I modded to have white text and I have a metamorph to change the images in the resources as well. I'd be happy to share - the dialer is from Virtuous 3.1.
The only thing I haven't figure out is how to change the text when you're in a call. For some reason, when in a call, the dialer text turns back to black. I'm still trying to figure it out. If anyone happens to know what has to be changed to make the text white in a call, PM me!
IncROM is the Rom I want to skin

That thread is very helpful. I haven't ventured into changing the font yet, I just wanted to change the numbers to white and add a new button background which wasn't too bad.

If you were able to get it to work I'd like a black one with white numbers if you could post it.I'm using sky raider by the way.
Attached are the 2 files you requested. They are from the 3.26.605.1 leak, incase specifics are needed. Also, I will be sure to give you the credit when they make it into one of my ROM updates.
Thanks again OSully... most appreciated!!

Changing Stock Android Orange In Apps?

Hey guys of XDA, I just got into Android after a long affair with iPhone and its OS. So now I'm rooted and have cyanogenMod 6.1.1 installed. I have my status bar set to the color cyan, as well as my highlight color among other things. I was wondering how I can change the orange highlight and outline on other apps such as this one, messaging everything. I want everything to be cyan instead of the orange. Is there anyway to do this? I'm comfortable with the /system folder and all, so feel free to give suggestions and tell me what to do. Thanks in advance!

Download LauncherPro from the market, I know you can change the setting in there. You maybe be able to do with with adw launcher that comes with cyanogenmod, but not 100% sure.

[THEME] here is a theme i made....

ill take comments! first time, used the rom cooker online. tell me if it works ok.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Y5US3R0O
tell me what you see or dont see, i do not like the wifi symbol so im gonna work on that next time, but overall im looking for comments of where i may have went wrong, please, make a nice easy to read list so i can go thru it and try another one.
i did not install a font pack, as i rather do it manually so it writes into everything so there are not 2 different fonts as my font is not installed in the theme cooker.
edit, it has framework and system ui files for CM7 7.0.0 stable release. turn off battery mod in CM settings if you want themed battery meter
What I am looking for is constructive critism. It seems to be running fine but none of the theme colors up the phone sms etc icons.
Im assuming i need some kind of icon pack.
Originally i flashed this over matted blues theme and it was a mix of both.

[Q] Stock Launcher Color Change?

I have looked and searched and i cannot find a thread on this and i am thinking i might be barking up the wrong tree.
I run the stock launcher on cm7 and super cm7 and i would like to change the color of the three icons on the bottom or the homescreen and thats it. Colors of everything else i want to stay the same. Is this even possible?
I do not want to run lp or adw. I'll stay with green if thats the case.
If you change themes with the theme chooser it should change. That's if you don't mind switching themes.

Not to be a **** but the OP says I want everything else to stay the same. Why would you suggest switching themes.
Guess ill just figure out how to export this theme and change icons myself through theme manager. I was hoping maybe someone would know a quick and easy way of changing the color.

you should be able to modify the dock pngs in the launcher apk without trouble. I've changed colors around on a vanilla launcher before... just decompiled the launcher apk, changed the pngs I wanted to change, compiled and replaced the apk.. voila.
Awesome. Thanks.

You can use ninja morphology, that's how I got mattedblue colors on my stock launcher. Although ever since adw ex got updated I've been using it.
got the decompile thing down. guess all there is to do is find out how good i am in gimp.
thanks again
Why don't you use adw ex? It's so much better than the stock and you get to keep the gingerbread dock but customize icons and their colors...You really cannot go wrong...

Blue/Dark ICS themed MMS apk?

Im currently on the Andromadus Audacity Beta 3 and love the rom so far, but the MMS apk included kinda sticks out. Is there a way to change the colors of the app so I can get a black background and blue or white text to match the ICS style theme, or is there another apk I can flash to replace the one that came built in with the rom?
Found all over google play

I didnt want an add on app though like go sms or handcent. I like the stock one just not the look of it.
Go SMS is your best bet. It has plenty of themes to suit your needs. It even has quick reply, quick text, (and more) something stock doesn't have. It's a nice app.

Do you know if its safe to remove the stock mms app and use go sms as a standalone?
You don't even have to remove the stock one but you can, or if you want in between freeze stock in titanium backup

Removing the stock mms apk will force close go sms. At least this is what I've found on testing when I was making a rom having only go sms.

I always use go SMS and delete the mms apk via titanium backup. There is a feature that allows it to operate with it deleted
Sent from planet Vegeta.
If u want to theme the mms app, you have to decompile mms.apk and go into drawable hdpi folder and change around some of the images. For more complex things you can edit the style.xml file in the decompiled mms apk
