Hi guys, just a few questions.
1) Requirements for warranty is it just unroot it? or do i need S-On for my device?
2) Is it possible for me to use the stock rom i backed up to revert back to stock? and does that means its free to go for warranty after flashing back? Do i really need to use the RUU version stock rom?
Just these questions for the moment.
Any kind souls to help? Thanks alot!

If your device is not bricked, you need both S-On and Unroot.
If you have done Radio S-Off and Root, it is easy, just run an official RUU and you will be back to stock
If you did Eng S-Off... well that complicates things a bit and you have to use Jkoljo tool if you used to achieve Eng S-Off (I don't know about any reversing any other method), just hope you kept your Hboot backup (the one that the tool made) on the root of your SD card.
Hope that helps.
Yup, so i have an eng s-off, radio s-off and rooted device.
Does that means i need to use that Jkoljo tool you mentioned to remove eng s-off and then run an official RUU to get back to stock?
and the hBoot filename is something like this?
"hboot_original.bin"
Thanks alot for the reply here =)

The steps you should do are like this.
1. Run the 1.32 RUU and then Re-root + Radio S-Off
2. Run Jkoljo tool and reverse Eng S-Off
3. Re-Run the 1.32 RUU and you should be back to Stock with Eng S-on and Radio S-On.
PS. if you are using a branded handset you should set back the CID to the correct number (Cannot remember exactly how, but Jkoljo thread should have some info)
Ok. I get it now! Thanks alot! =)
One last question. Branded handset means?

Like carrier branded (aka locked handset). You know like Orange/Vodafone locked DHDs where they have custom RUUs and CIDs.

Need to return my leedroid 2.2.2 to stock.
Somehow i have lost eng s-off. Tried to install different radio but it wouldnt allow me, as bootloader says ship s-off. So have been advised that i need to downgrade again, and go through the s-off / root process again - Here
How do i go back to the easy rooted 1.32 stock again. I have an RUU for that version, but its not seeing the phone. Found a workaround - Here - but it only got so far before the phone froze, and the installer said it couldnt find phone.
Thought for a minute i had bricked the phone, so after crapping myself, decided to seek help here on how to return to 1.32!
Look at the rooting tutorials for 1.72.
AFAIK, you need to change the version number for this to work (to allow downgrade).
Do you have ship s-off or you do not?
You can't flash a radio because you don't have eng s-off, therefore no fastboot commands.
Just flash any ruu you want using the pd98img.zip method and all shall be stock. Launching an ruu update from your pc is notoriously unreliable and I would never recommend it.
Here is a guide to the method if you have no idea whet I'm talking about.

Had tried to flash pd98img from my sd card but kept getting some error (cant remember what it was now, will check again later). So thought maybe needed to use the RUU to go back to a stock ROM, but was just guessing at that. Will have another go at PM98IMG when i get home from work.
You have Radio S-OFF, so you do not have to use the downgrade guide. Just flash 1.32.405.6 stock ROM using PD98IMG.zip (get that from the downgrade guide), and then you can use my Radio S-OFF tool to go S-ON. You can also check the S-ON instructions in my tool thread.

Thanks. I tried last night to do this (though i was going to go the full downgrade route) but couldnt get it to install. But i was selecting the zip from sd card, which i think is wrong? (hboot will pick the zip up itself?)
Can you briefly explain to me what S-ON is? Im a total noob here, and always thought we were looking S-OFF to flash Kernels, Radios etc.
I owe you a thanks. Already handed out 5 today and cant give any more!

hmm having problems. Have got back to stock ok. But when i try to run your tool i keep getting connection error. Have tried in XP and win 7, and from root of drive as some others have suggested worked for them. Any ideas?
EDIT: Think i have it sorted.
Hi, thanks for taking the time to read my post. Im a noob at this and would appreciate any advise you can give.
I have root on my dhd, It is branded i think as it has orange splash screen on boot and branding to the phone also.
I've followed the instructions on this forum "How to flash a custom rom on your desire HD, and not fail"
Radio S-off.................done
easy radio tool.exe.......done
Eng S-off.....................done
Ive tested as it describes:
ace pvt eng s-off .......correct
cid- 11111111 ...........corrrect
This is where my confusion begins, I've read that when trying to flash a branded phone (as mine is), you need to have a Goldcard.
Ive also read that if your phone has cid- 11111111 then there is no need for a goldcard and you can go ahead and start the flashing of your custom rom.
I intend to flash a custom rom and my current software version is 1.40.61.2 HBOOT is 0.85.2007
Can you advise please
Regards Jody
You have SuperCID, so there should be no need for a goldcard

You have root and s-off, your free to flash any custom rom. You only need a goldcard for stock htc roms and ota updates, but as you have superCID, you wouldnt need one for that either

now have leedroid 2.2.2 with correct radio, all went fine. thanks
After holding vol down + boot key I get this:
ACE PVT ENG S-OFF
HBOOT - 0.85.2007 (PD9810000)
MICROP-0438
RADIO-26.04.02.05_M2
SYSTEM INFO:
OS Ver-1.39.161.1
In the phone's settings I found this:
Kernel 2.6.32.28-cyanogenmod
Android version 2.3.1
Mod version CM7-RC0-DHD-PNK14
Compilation number GRH78
I have visionary installed and a console emulator, I can su, so the device is rooted. But I want to do an S-OFF. I tried it and it told me that I'm running on an unsupported kernel. I believe that it's because of the cyanogen mod installed instead of a stock rom.
What can I do in order to be able to do a S-OFF? What should I flash? How? Where do I get it?
Regards

Someone else may be able to correct me, but in the fist line, your phone already told you that it is S-OFF, hence why it is not letting you do this again, probably not down to the kernel you are running.

What do you want to flash? A new radio? a different rom? Did you want to upgrade your version of cyanogenmod to the latest version. Download link and instructions for installing Cyanogenmod 7.0.0 RC4
Desire HD Radio thread on XDA-Developers
Hope this is of some use.
It is actually down to the kernel, please read the tool's requirements.. But that being said, you already have at least ENG S-OFF. You can check radio S-OFF in bootloader's system info, if the CID is 11111111, you have it.
To get radio S-OFF, flash Raidroid stockify series ROM and then run the tool again. You also have to get older radio, read the requirements...
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
I checked my CID and it says VODAP304, so it's a branded device.
I searched the forums for Radroid stockify ROM and I found this thread, but the info says "These ROMs are simply debranded and rooted stock roms...".
Can I flash a debranded ROM on a branded device? Also, there are no requirements in that thread, so I'm noot really sure what radio should I get. In fact, there are a few ROMs and I don't know which one is the correct for my phone.
One last thing, I made a goldcard, because I red that that's a requirement in order to flash ROMs to a branded device. Am I right?
Regards
Hi, as you have ENG S-OFF and clockworkmod, the branded CID does not affect anything. Raidroid does not have requirements. Every DHD ROM is compatible with every DHD device.
If you want to use my radio S-OFF tool, get the radio I recommend in my tool's thread.
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
I found a quick guide here and a detailed guide here about how to flash a radio. But they both say that my device must be radio s-off and eng s-off, and my device is only eng s-off, right? (I'm not sure about that, so please correct me if I'm wrong).
So, in order to flash a radio I need to do a radio s-off, but I'm not able because of the kernel that I'm using.
What should I do? Is it safe to flash a Raidroid stockift ROM, then flash the radio that you recommend in the radio s-off thread, and then do the radio s-off?
f that's not the way, could you tell me what to do first?
Regards
Yep, do it like this:
Download & flash Raidroid 1.32.405.6
Flash older radio, do not care about radio s-off
Get radio S-OFF using my tool
Flash any radio & ROM you like
I'm flashing the ROM right now. Should I do a full wipe? (I'm looking this guide)
It is always good to do that.
Great! I have been doing this all day, and I finally made it!
Now I'm planing to install the Android Revolution HD 4 ROM, so I'll make a full wipe again, but what if next month there is a 4.0.1? Should I do another full wipe?
Anyways, that is just a small question, as everything else went perfect. Thank you so much for you support!
Regards
Well it depends, it is always good to do a full wipe.. Mike will give instructions about that when the time comes. Full wipe is not always necessary.

I need to get back to stock hboot for warranty, but can't find a way to flash it without using the touschscreen. All the ways I have found use terminal emulator once booted so I can't use them. Is there a way to flash it from fastboot?
Thanks,

Doesn't flashing an RUU overwrite HBoot with stock one? I know it will leave radio S-OFF but I'm pretty sure that it overwrites HBoot, I could be completely wrong and please correct me if I am.

Nope, did RUU update and stayed with eng hboot with S off
Running the 1.32.405.6 RUU will restore Ship S-ON.
Running a 1.32.405.6 RUU will revert hboot (ENG to SHIP) to stock, but it will not revert S-OFF to stock S-ON if you have Radio S-OFF.
I have a HTC Desire Bravo GSM.
Radio: 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27
ROM: MIUI
Bootloader: 0.93.0001
Carrier: Vodaphone UK
I am trying to install this RUU: RUU_Bravo_Vodafone_UK_1.19.161.5_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126338_signed
While installing the ROM it gives an error relating to the the bootloader version. Do I need another RUU, if so which one? This is the only Vodaphone UK RUU I can find. If not do I need to upgrade Bootloader or downgrade it. (How?)
HELP!
First, tell us which type of hboot you are using (cm7r2, stock...).

Bootloaders cannot be downgraded.
Are you using one of alpharev's r2 hboots (cm7 or oxygen)? If yes, you have to flash bravo downgrade first, because these both new hboots are locked. This means they cannot be overwritten. After you have flashed bravo downgrade, try to flash ruu again.
Swyped from my HTC Desire using XDA App
How do I check which bootloader I have? and what do you mean by Bravo downgrade?
All I can see in fastboot is "hboot 0.93.0001" It doesnt say wether its Alpharev or stock?
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
Boot into bootloader and check first line. What's written there?
I mean if you have one of my named bootloaders, you have to download bravo_downgrade.img from here:
http://alpharev.nl
After flashing this via fastboot you should be able to flash ruu successfully.

What do you mean by flashing through fasboot. I know how to apply .zip updates from recovery but how do you do it through fastboot? Does it need to be connected to a PC, any pre requisites for this method? I can see their are steps mentioned on the link you posted but I don't understand step 3. If you can clarify I will be very thankful.
When I boot into hbbot and there are options like "fastboot" and recovery etc. On the first line it says HTC Bravo PVT1 SHIP S-ON ?

Forget the thing with fastboot. You are still s-on, so you cannot use it and so there is no need to explain this.

Ohh I sort of get it now. The custom bootloader thingy can only be installed with S-OFF and I can only downgrade the bootloader with S-off which I don't have. So now I trying the RUU you mentioned. There are there vodaphone RUU's on the site. After trying all three, if they don't work, I have to S-off the device THEN run the Bravo downgrader and then flash any one of the three RUU's again, right?
Thanks for all the help man

hey thanks, it worked. Can you please explain why the RUU you posted worked and mine didnt? What do the numbers in the RUU signify? I know of those numbers is the radio version. What about the rest?
RUU_Bravo_Froyo_Vodafone_UK_2.33.161.2_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_157522_signed
Bravo_Froyo_Vodafone refers to the software and carrier.
2.33.161.2 < What does this refer to?
32.49.00.32U < This is the radio obviously. Does it have to be match the radio on my device or not? (It does match by the way)
5.11.05.27 < What does this refer to?
thanks for all the help man. Could you kindly explain two more things?
1) What are the benefits of S-off?
2) whats the point of custom bootloaders like Alpharev?
3) When I root a device, I can obviously install cracked APKs from other websites. What other advantages does rooting offer?
Thanks again.

Mine worked because you wanted to flash an ruu which was too old for your phone.
The number "2.33.161.2" is referred to the software number of android or rather in this case of the android software number with vodafone branding.
32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27 is the radio.
1) You can use fastboot, flash different partition layouts or you can delete apps from /system/app while phone is running.
2) More space for your desire.
3) You can install custom roms, backup your apps and system with e.g. titanium backup or you can "take a picture" of your current system configuration with nandroid backup.
For more information, just use the search.
And do not forget to hit the thanks button.
Thanks. You are AWESOME.
Edit:
I forgot. I dropped my Desire a few weeks ago and the screen got cracked. I got the front glass replaced but now the proximity sensor stays ON all the time. SO when I make a call, the screen goes black and the ONLY way of getting the cell back in is removing the battery. I'll get the cell phone repaired in a week or two. Till then is there any app or any way I can disable the proximity sensor? I was using an MIUI rom before I flashed the RUU and it had an option under "Call settings" to turn off proximity sensor so I'm sure it can be done. Is there any other way to do this without having to go back to MIUI? :|
