I have Tytn with wm6 oficial from htc and sometimes the buttons doesnt work. The messages button, IE, Green One, Red One, but the keyboard works everytime. If I turn the phone off and than Turn it on they work for a while. Is there anything I can do to resolve this problem?

Hi,
I maybe wrong but so far I think I've nailed this down to task managers installed by either the rom developer or the user that normally aren't in the base rom.
Examples: spb mobile shell, spb plus, possibly even htc task manger.
reason: if you notice spb plus has a Red X option for closing applications when you tap the X, instead of minimizing them to the background. it also brings up a quick menu if you hold the stylus too long on a scroll bar and are scrolling a page slowly using the stylus. if you have this menu drop downwhenyou lift the stylus in that brief period that you do to put it back at the top to scroll further you may end up accidently taping the close application that shows on that menu. it can be triggered by other means on screen and maybe behind the problem.
I've had similar since I run both spb mobile shell and spb plus and have been too lazy to disable the task managers since the schaps rom I run now already has htc's task manager in it by default and is loaded on boot.
try disabling all task managers the show one the top task bar and that recognise screen gestures.
*thank god for full qwerty keyboard on this hermes as i've already done 2 posts today and were this an artimis i' be crazy or not post when I'm out and just relaxing in car in the morning due to artimis doesn't have a mechanical keyboard only onscreen hahaha*
I have 6.1 flashed. I love the phone, however a few things are bothering me. I'm sure there are quick fixes for the problems.
1. Whenever I receive a message, it takes quite a bit for it to show up on my homescreen. I see the phone light up and maybe 10 seconds later the message shows.
2. When in an SMS Conversation, pressing the back button doesn't take me back to the main SMS screen. It does nothing. I have to press the home button in order to get out of the conversation.
3. After going to the homescreen from a conversation, the last message read still shows up as a new SMS on the homescreen. I have to actually go back to the conversation in order to get rid of the notification.
4. The bottom key on the JOGGR bar is too easy to press. The way I prefer to hold my phone, part of my hand is almost always near that button. Therefore, I'm constantly being taken to Messaging.
5. My Skyfire CAb repeatedly gives me the error message "installation was unsuccessful." I've tried re-downloading it numerous times.
What does the this button on the Touch Pro2?
Is this button also an okay button? I don't see any ok button on the Touch Pro2 keyboard and if it doesn't have it, I won't get the Touch Pro2. The picture is attached on my first post.
It is the "back" button

So it deletes text and moves back in opera browser? That's all? That's the dumbest hardware choice ever.
Seriously man, what does it do and WHEN DOES IT DO IT?
When it goes back, does it alt tab also?
Please be specific, I obviously know what back does but the point is that I need to know exactly how it works.
For example the zoom bar on toshiba tg01 only works in the web browser while the zoom bar on the touch pro2 works in both the browser and in images.
So please explain in detail. I need an okay button.

No TP2 for you. It's a return key.
What is does? Well, it goes back. Twice if you press it twice.

Oh I see it's like the back key (which also functions as delete) on my Xperia.

Yea. it backs up pretty much any program your in. Also, if your in a windows menu, hitting that will take you back to the previous menu, or to the home screen if you hit it enough times. hitting the 'end call' button im told also takes you directly to the home screen.
Not sure if it works for Text typing. as when your typing, you should either be using the on-screen keyboard, or the hardware keyboard, both of which have their own backspace.
It interesting that not a lot of people know this. The back key can be used as an okay key. Every time you have a window with an okay button, you can use the back key for it.
(I've actually seen a review of the TP2 that blasts it for not having an okay button)
Hmmm very interesting posts.
You see my Xperia has an okay button but it only serves as functions for pressing the ok or x on the screen.
However the okay button does not goes back between web pages and that kind of stuff or text editing.
But my Xperia has a [del/backspace] key on the keyboard and it also serves as a backspace and web page browsing button that goes to the previous page.
So are you saying that the 3rd button on the TP2 is a combination of both the [del/backspace] and the okay button?
By the way...does the Touch Pro2's back button also apply settings when it presses [ok]?

Yes it functions exactly as the ok button on screen. I've just tried it out and it saves settings etc
Here's my attempt at a definitive answer to this. The back key
does the following:
-In Opera, if any text fiels is selected (ie, address bar, search bar, text box in website) it functions as the backspace key. (This is quite silly, I think)
-In Opera, if no text fields are selected, it functions as a back button.
-In all apps, it functions as an ok and minimize button. It will save settings. Eg, if you have the calculator app opened, pressing this button will minimize it.
-In level 1 TF3D tabs, it'll return you to the Home tab. Eg, if at Weather tab, it'll bring you to Home tab.
-In the Album app, if viewing a picture, it'll bring you back out to thumbnail view.
-In all 2nd level views of TF3D, it'll bring you back to the level 1 tab where you were. Eg, if you're in the Music Library, it'll bring you out to the Music tab.
-In Calendar day view, it'll bring you back to month view.

Thanks, I will highly consider swapping this for the Xperia X1 and paying maybe 100-150 dollars that the X1 can't pay for (if I get the money of course).
I wonder if anyone knows about what the "House" button on the T-Mobile Touch Pro2 is going to do. They switched it from a Windows Symbol into a House.
hi,
since i've put the brand new latest ROM from htc.com on my htc touch pro 2... text messaging is a real issue...
the problem is:
i get a text, so i press the "text" icon in the bottom menu.
it shows the last one i allready read... so i have to move up by stroking the screen with my finger.
i get to see the new message.
when i press "reply" in the menu, i automaticly open the keyboard (it's a habbit).
first i have to wait till the screen tilted and the phone is done thinking.
then i just type and press "send".
i close the keyboard and have to wait for several seconds before the screen changes from landscape mode to portrait mode.
after waiting for a while i press the "home" button, and again i'm waiting for several seconds before i get to see my home screen.
my phone acts as if i'm trying to run windows 7 on a 386 dx4 that's over 15 years old (if you know what i mean).
it's really annoying because it takes me very long to read, type and send a message.
what i would like to change:
open with the newly recieved text message.
quicker response when i press "reply".
quicker response when i close the keyboard.
quicker close of the "message program".
no stalling at all....
any ideas?
nobody has a cleu?

Hey for quicker response when closing the message program, instead of closing the program with the "X", try using the Arrow hardware button instead. It doesnt work all the time for me, but most of the time the phone doesnt freeze as it used to when i would press "X".
Go to your messages>all messages>menu>tools.sorty by and select "received"
see if that helps. As for the lag, I don't know how many processes you are running but you may want to give "HTC Clean Ram" a shot. I run it once every couple of days and on average it clears up around 20 mbs of memory. BsB tweaks is another option since there are couple of options there to enhance performance.
In the stock browser, I have enabled the Quick Controls and Full Screen options. The results are brilliant.
However, it is a bit of a chore to get to my Bookmarks. Anyone have any shortcuts?
I usually press the quick control for the tabs a little longer than normal before letting go which shows all the tabs. The bookmark button appears on the top right. Don't know if there's a faster way.
If you press and hold the "back" screen button, for a couple of seconds -- the bookmarks / history / saved pages will be there.
