[Q] Widget or Notification area on/off SIP - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

I have been looking for a while, is there a QUICK way to turn on/off the SIP settings.
ITs not hard to click on settings, phone and then go to the bottom, but its a little tedious, not to mention, and icon on the main screen will remind me to turn it off before it kills battery.

On Google Play there's the SIP Switch Widget, which does what you're searching for.
You can find it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.siebeck.sipswitch (unfortunately I'm not yet allowed to post links...)

Add wifi on off in quick menu?

To save a lot of my battery life I have widget to turn off wifi when I'm just playing a game or reading. I notice on my 10 inch Lenovo tablet there is a wifi toggle on/off why isn't it there for the a100? Is there any way to enable it or add it on? I know I can use the widgets but If I'm already reading or playing a game it a PITA to have to go back to home screen just to toggle wifi via widget rather than just launching the quick menu to disable it.
The notification menu allows for the toggling of airplane mode. Is that sufficient? (Three clicks to popup, click the settings icon, and toggle the mode). I think there is a way to add an icon on the desktop for a single click. I need to look into that later today.
When you say "quick menu," do you mean the three button ribbon? I don't know how to add or remove anything from there, but I would be interested in learning. I would also be interested in hiding it or using swiping to toggle it. I will try to look into this too.
I used curvefish Widgets for one tap wifi on-off and autorotation lock. (not a fan of physical switches) I am now using Beautiful Widgets toggle switches for Wifi and rotation since it was only 10 cents in the market.

You're right I could just toggle airplane mode which should turn off wifi. I'm gonna see if this also turns off GPS. Thanks.
I think the wifi toggle doesn't exist in the 7 inch tablets. I saw a video of a flyer with honeycomb and it didn't have it eithrt but it did have airplane toggle.

The Airplane toggle does not turn off the GPS. At least, I use the GPS while in Airplane mode quite frequently (e.g. navigation apps, geocaching app, and etc.). There is a possibility that I am disabling the GPS with Airplane mode and then manually turning on the GPS when I activate a related app. I need to test that.

I looked this up (haven't tried it yet) and it looks promising. Of course, you have to go to the main menu.
I wonder if there is a way to modify the Android ribbon on that has the back, home, and switch app buttons. I believe you called that the "Quick Menu." Still need to look that up. I would personally love to remove the Home button (since we have capacitive Acer home key) and maybe add another button.

I just confirmed that toggling Airplane mode has no effect on the GPS. In order for me to turn off the GPS, I have to toggle the GPS setting.
Since this isn't a phone, is "Airplane Mode" nothing more than a WiFi toggle?
The Curvefish GPS won't show up on my list of widgets.
I downloaded the Toggle Widgets Pack which gives me a GPS widget that just sends me directly to the GPS settings rather than toggles it on and off.
The TW widgets for WiFi, Airplane mode, Bluetooth, etc do act as a toggle though. Odd.

I am pretty sure it toggles bluetooth as well. Of course, I have to look that up.
The bluetooth I dont really use and the GPS havent yet the need to use to so for now the airplane mode will do. Previously I was using a wifi on off widget in my home screen to turn it off now I dont have to leave any game or watching a video to turn it off. Thanks for the advice!
Np. Enjoy!

The best toggle app I have found is Widgetsoid2.x. It puts the toggle buttons into the Notifications menu, so to toggle WiFi off/on I just click once for the Notification Menu, once for the toggle, then click back to the main screen.

I used widgetsoid on my gtab before but i didnt know it can add those to the notification menu. I'll have to try it...thanks.
Just installed it...I see in the market images it can be added to android 2.3 or below. Can you show me how to add it in the notification bar on the bottom for honeycomb?
EDIT: It seems a big buggy an too redundant since you already have it in the notification bar also. Thanks for the tip though.

At this point I already have toggle widgets. But he mentioned an app that can add the toggle in the status bar on the bottom (atleast thats what I think hes saying). This would be better since it doesnt require me to go to home screen.

Thank you! Looking at the images it looks very nice and matches the HC quick setting perfectly. Widgetsoid was good too but I think was kinda buggy so I never really used it. Gonna try yours now. Thanks again......
EDIT: Just installed it. Love that it matches honeycomb and you cant really tell its an add on. It is someone redundant though cause it also shows a notification icon in the bottom bar. But I'm not complaining.
EDIT2: Found theres setting to disable icon in notification bar.

How to use the tectiles?

So I want to use the tectile in my car. The setting is simple, I want to tap the tectile and my N2 will change into the drive/car mode. Also I want it to go back to normal mode when I get out of the car, do I need to set up another tectile for that?
The tectiles don't have a switch mode or toggle mode? I know nfc task launcher can make switches & toggles but I'm not sure of the tectiles app
So I'm using NFC Task Launcher and I set it to Drive Mode. And it works. But I noticed the settings will remain the same even when I tap it again. So in other words, I would need 2 tectiles, one to get it to drive mode and another one to get back to normal mode? That would be stupid and a waste.
When you select drive mode, does it give you the option to turn it on, off or toggle?
Edit: I see it does give you the option to toggle it. Select that option when writing to the tag. Should do the trick
im pretty sure you would have to make it 2 separate tiles because 1 tile changes what you want changed and every time you touch that tile, it'll do that until you change it yourself or use a different tile. your phone doesn't stay connected to the tectile, it just reads the comand and executes

Yeah. I figured it out by playing with it. I guess it's a way for them to make more money.

If you are using the current version of NFC Task Launcher, you hit the plus to add a new tag.
Select New Tag.
Add Enable Car Dock {Driving Mode?}
Swipe the screen to the left to create a Switch Tag and hit the Add a Task button.
Add the Disable Car Dock. {Driving Mode?}
Save and write.
Now the first time you do it, it will enable and the second time it will disable it.
I just created one to do just that.
If you have trouble, I can do screenshots in more detail.

That's pretty much what I did. I've written 3 tags so far. One for home, one for car, and one for office.
The one for home turns off gps, turns on wifi, sets sound profile to normal, loudest ring tone, enables auto-sync, and sets the brightness down to 20%. It also disables the lockscreen because frankly I don't need the lockscreen around the house.
The one in the car turns off wifi, turns on BT, turns on GPS, disables auto-sync, turns brightness up to 80%, sound profile normal, loudest ring volume.
And the one in the office turns off wifi, turns off BT, turns off GPS, disables auto-sync, brightness to 20%, sound profile vibrate.
This thing is just super fun. I have to think of more places I can put these tags on. I'm thinking of putting one in the bathroom to automatically turn on npr in the morning.
With NFC Task Launcher, there is "two tasks" so you can set 2 tasks with one tag. It's exactly what I wanted!
So I just set one for the office where: 1st Task: Ringtone and Notification goes to vibrate only. 2nd Task: Ringtone & Notification goes to level 5. So when I get into the office, I would tap it once and it will go into office mode, then when I leave the office, I tap it again and it will go into the "2nd Task"!
Also found out that you cannot use NFC while the screen is off! That's stupid. So I searched and found this but reading it tells me that it does not work for the N2.

[Q] Quick Settings Notification

With all my other devices, when I touch the wifi or bluetooth icon under the quick settings it usually turns those features on. But not on my Nexus 7, Instead it goes to the settings menu. Is there a way to change that?
Long press icon... That should toggle them.

Great, thanks.
Now is there a way to reverse that, so a tap is to toggle?
Not that I know of.. But I agree, it should be switched around.maybe an xposed module would be able to do that.
If someone wrote one.

[Q] Lockscreen shortcuts seem to be missing...

Alright, so I was setting up my ls990 and during the setup of everything (apps/widgets/screens/you know) I managed, or perhaps my phone managed, to simply stop displaying lock screen shortcuts. I know what you may be thinking, no, there are no passwords, knock codes, pins, locks, mods, extras, or anything that *could* cause this.
It's a simple swipe to unlock, that's it, there are shortcuts 'set' in the lock screen settings as you'd expect, but no matter what fiddling, swiping, or press-and-holding I try will bring them back. Every last combination of settings and lock screen fidgeting and 'oops I deleted the default circle lock screen widget thingy but found out how to bring it back and also learned how to set the default lock screen page that will show when I turn the screen on'-ing will make them show again... So after on and off and mostly on playing around with it over the last 10 hours or so, and seeing how it is now 5 am where I live, and certainly the tunnel vision has set in or I'm just plain ol' dumb and/or incapable of swiping my own buttons, I'd figure that somewhere in the population of LG g3 owning & xda browsing intelligental(wo)mens there could be somebody to set my plain ol' dumb button pushing straight.
Any ideas?
Posting on the chrome browser from my nifty ls990 via my Wi-Fi connection, tanks.
Well anything? Need smart people please, I'll consider this a bump.
Do you see the Emergency Call box at the bottom? I just had that same issue, and it appeared to be triggered by a lack of signal or going into roaming mode. Setting the device into Airplane Mode brought the shortcuts back for me. Here's exactly what I did:
1. Set the device into Airplane Mode (I used the shortcut from the notification shade).
2. Lock the device.
3. Hit the power button to bring up the lock screen. Verified shortcuts were there.
4. Shut off Airplane Mode (once again, used shortcut).
Let me know if that works...

Quick way turn on/off AOD?

I like AOD and i have it on as default. However, when I'm at work I don't need to have it on since I can see my notifications & calls from the computer (using Join extensions & app). I tried messing around with Tasker but unable to accomplish anything so far. Do you guys know any quick way to turn on/off AOD without having to go into the display settings?
Edit - Found an app that let me toggles AOD
App is called "Tiles". There's a tile in the app called "Always On", switch it on, then run this adb command to allow the app make secure setting changes: adb shell pm grant com/rascarlo.quick.settings.tiles android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
Link to app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rascarlo.quick.settings.tiles
One workaround. Pull town quick tiles, touch menu (gear to right of date), then in search box type "ambient", that will let you choose "Battery > Ambient Display". It takes long steps the first time. Next time just pull down tiles, touch gear, touch search bar, touch "ambient" (that stays in list), touch home button. It seems the 2XL keeps the last five searches.
There may be a better way, but I have not found it yet. Been trying to do it with Tasker and maybe a plugin, but nothing yet.

I have Tiles, granted permission through ADB, and the Ambient Display toggle does nothing.
Edit: It turns on and off the "New notification - wake screen when you receive notifications" setting. Not the Always On setting..
Edit 2: You need to use the Always On tile and not Ambient Display. Works well!

If you could, please provide a link to "Tiles". I tried searching for it in the Play Store and most of the hits are games.
I'm trying to find a solution to my phone screen turning off when it's plugged in and a call comes in. Maybe this is the fix I've been looking for.

Here you go: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rascarlo.quick.settings.tiles
You can also squeeze your phone/activate assistant and say "turn always on display off"
Tasker does work, try the "custom setting" option.
