Try reformatting your memory card to see if the problem still persists.
it looks to me as if the problem is in the phone itself because when i look at the picture in the file explorer its ok.. i will try your suggestion anyway thanks..

Greetings.
I have the ICS updated Xperia ION. The issue is that when I take an image and try to download it, it isn't where I expect it do be... in the DCIM folder. There isn't anything in there.
I did find a ton of images in a "thum" folder but they are all thumb nail images.
With this camera I was expecting larger images to use and download.
Could someone give me a clue where the images are stored and downloadeable from.
Thanks.

There is a setting in camera to choose storage location. I believe this affects all photo storage, not just pictures taken. Xda app saves into the xda_downloads folder on the internal memory. Haven't figured out how to change it to external memory.

Yeah make sure you are looking at the right storage. If you have a removable SD card it will show up as /ext_card The stock camera might be saving pics there. What you can do is go to the picture in the Albums app and when you look at a picture hit the menu button and hit details. It will tell you where the picture is stored.
thanks tons
Thanks for both answers! I will check and see.

Hi guys, I am facing the same problem after updating to ICS. I checked the path of the pictures, as you suggested, which shows: /mnt/ext_card/DCIM/100ANDRO. The 100ANDRO folder shows only older images taken pre update to ICS. I tried the Windows 7 search option to search for a specific image inside the entire Xperia folders based on name to no avail.
The camera storage is set to SD card.
If one of you reached a resolution, please share. Thanks.
If you are DOWNLOADING pictures, they tend to go to downloads in your phone memory or onto root of your phone memory /mnt/sdcard sdcard being the internal for ext_sdcard is external. Try there ladies and gents,
Edit- I don't think /mnt/sdcard would be considered root actually, but you get what I mean.
Edit2- I get things going to /mnt/sdcard if I DL it from my email, I guess that would be a good thing to add as well, only time I can think of that I DL any pictures. Anything from text goes to DCMI
i have a big issue for JB ROM, this quote is have same problem with me:

Wondering if anyone can help...
on JB, stock google apps and system apps won't recognize my SD Card at all, while outside apps have no problem recognizing it...?
for example, stock Gallery app won't bring up my pictures, mxplayer wont show videos, miui file explorer cannot count/read video files, music, and pictures, however Quick Pic has no problem. Root Explorer has no problem, Titanium Backup has no problem...but trying to access music or custom notifications for gmail/sms won't show up in the system apps (gmail, mms, etc).
another thing is when I plug my phone into my computer, none of my old files are there (but like I said they show up just fine with Root Explorer or any other file explorer).
I've tried every JB Rom available for Toro, yes I've tried SuperWipe, I've done it all.
Any ideas, fellas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've searched everywhere and tried a variety of ways, from delete all files ". nomedia" until format the sdcard, that's fail.just showing some picture (no use)
maybe anyone can help me?
#thats some reason why some user not use JB ROM unnofficial
this is 1 of thread disscusion with the same issue http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1748326
A common reason for media content stored on SD cards not being shown on apps is that the sd card is not being properly scanned, this is supposed to happen everytime the phone starts... but it seems to be a common issue on ICS, even stock roms. I don't remember if JB has same issue.
I used Scan Media, from app market, then after a restart, I could access all my content again.
I've seen ppl recommends Rescan Media as well... you could try those.
It's really weird that you can't access your content when connected through usb to the computer. If you use MTP connection you could try MSC then, see if you can access them.
This is all I can think of, Good luck.

I do!!! I have recently installed this new ROM and I love it! One down of it is the battery life. But I've disabled gogle now services and my battery improved at almost 40% lol It's nice to have it but It's also annoying to charge your phone every four hours. Im retty sure there is a bug continuously running that drains the battery that fast.
NOw going back to the point, the bad problem is that my phone is not recognizing my memory card. Other programs recognize it like file manager and others but every time I go to gallery my phone doesnt recognize the pictures from it. Also the music player doesnt see the music I have on it either. Frustrating :/
I have done so far this:
1. Unmounted and re mounted the memory card using the ROM
2 Unmounted and re mounted the memory card using the ClockworkMod
3. Formatted the memory card many ways and different formats
4. Used a different (blank) memory card with one file
I also read another thread from previous codename ROMs about putting a null file on certain folders? I cant recall it right now, but theres is one thread about it. That did not work as well.
I guess we need to figure out more man. sad cuz I love this ROM

you need a file explorer like root explorer.
When your phone's wet, did you try to open it? Because if you do so, maybe it got shorted, maybe you should bring it to the authorized servc. Center

Its really hard to recover anything after you have formatted.
did u only factory reset it? or format your internal storage as well.
If u format the internal storage, u cannot get all your files back.
Just check your internal storage, to make sure your files still there or not.
there are free data recovery tools, which can recover data from formatted drives.
download one of them and try to recover your data.
Usually formatting does not delete the files, but just clears the file allocation table.
connect your phone to the pc and give it a try.
I'm sorry, I didn't expail it well.
I didn't do any backup so I lost everything.
Now, I would like to get back the main pictures, tracks and videos present initially on Xperia S like pictures (for instance the pictures that appear on 3:03 in this video on YouTube "Xperia S from Sony Review - Dialaphone "), hd video of presentation ecc.
Is it possible?
Anyone?

The tablet is Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (SM-T211). The gallery won't open pictures any more. It shows the thumbnails but if i tab on a picture thumbnail the tablet freezes and after while i get a message 'gallery stopped working'. The same happens with any other gallery apps i installed and tried to view the images.
I did a hard reset but this didn't fixed the problem.
I thought the problem might be with the sd card but the same thing happens if the pictures are saved on the internal memory.
I think to install custom recovery, root the tablet, and flash a custom rom, though i am not sure this will help.
Any ideas what might be causing this?

How much free infernal memory you got? Have you cleaned your cache or is it maybe 1GB? I think its the storage..
The problem was the sd card. I removed it and the problem was gone.
