System UIDs are Inconsistent - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a T-Mobile G2, rooted, running MIUI on the phone and GingerVillain on the sd card via boot manager. Everything has been running perfect, no errors or issues or anything like that with either rom except facebook wouldn't install on GV, but I wasn't worried about it because I wasn't going to be using GV as my daily driver. The most recent, and probably only change in a while was that I installed the new facebook IM app on MIUI? I also updated MIUI a few days ago, but that was long before any of this happened.
Last night my phone was working fine, drove my wife to work this morning and I was using google music and streaming was working fine, then I got home and turned on my hotspot to get on my laptop and my data isn't working. So I tried booting GV to see if it worked there and I get a message "System UIDs Inconsistent" and it basically told me I needed to wipe my phone for everything to work right? I really don't want to have to do this.
I've uninstalled the rom on my SD Card, fixed permissions, wiped dalvik, reflashed miui, just about everything I can think of.
Any other suggestions?
BTW 2G data is working. Just everything else that wont work. I see in my status bar that its uploading but not downloading -_-

i had this problem with virtuous rom 2.0.0

Whats the point of a nandroid backup if the backup is busted lol?

Nevermind. The problem just went away. Haha no explanation. Thanks for the help though.

[Q] Intermittent Data

I have never had this issue with any roms before.
I had been running Fresh Rom 3.1.0.2 or whatever, and recently upgraded to Fresh Rom 3.2
I made sure to wipe everything before installing this rom and now i have weird data issues no matter what rom i use
data works randomly no matter what signal strength i have with the market, signing into google, etc. ( i get network error messages loading market things saying i need to retry even though my browser works )
I have cleared everything many times trying different roms and updating my PRL and Profile also.
Most of the time my data arrows only show uploading too.
I am thinking about going and RUU to 2.1 or whatever and re rooting but which do i use? the PC36IMG.zip or RUU something? a little confused here.
i just wanna go back to stock everything to wipe everything and start fresh to make sure everything is fine.
Thanks!!
I've been having the same issue. A hard reset has fixed the problem, for today at least.

as far as hard reset, what are you referring to? powering off and pulling the battery? or what?
thanks!
I have been having the same issues. I just used the newest rooting method for 2.2 the other day. My web browsing and email pushes are fine but anything related to google (market, maps, signing in) fail out. I just tried wiping cache and it seems to work for now. It is extremely annoying.

[Q] LeeDroid HD V3.0.3 GB crash after install

Having trouble with the latest LeeDroid HD ROM have flashed many LeeDroid roms before without issue but for some reason aftering clearing all caches and running the latest rom it will install ok but on reboot it just hangs on the White HTC screen and won't boot in.
Any Ideas what could be causing it?
Currently Running LeeDroid HD v3.0.1, LeeDroid Kernel v3.1.1 radio 12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2
Make sure you're deleting all data do a full factory reset (deletes all data does not actually restore to factory condition) then clear the dalvik cache, re apply the ROM make sure its CLEAN and you haven't modified it, don't apply any themes or anything, then let it boot and be patient.
Try downloading it again also it could be a corrupt download.

I had similar issue few days back. But i had the Leedroid rom (same rom, kernel as urs) already runing flawlessly for a few days. It decided just to hangs at the same HTC Screen... tried to clear caches(all), hard reset, reflash same rom... still stuck same place. I finally had to flash stock 1.32 image, root all over again, etc. ... and flash Leedroid (same) again... works fine now
I got the feeling that I made my friends with their stock DHD and Iphone users drooling and jealous of my phone(csutomised with sense 3.0 stuffs), and they collectively jinxed my phone, and had this crash! lolz
btw. i flashed SAME rom i had on my sdcard, so I think the rom fine(mine at least). just something triggered that crash!
all the best...
Yea i tried reflashing from stock rom the other day loaded up one of the RUU exe's and rerooted etc and tried to reflash with no luck so i'm all out of ideas

Have also done factory reset and cleared dalvik cache etc. no joy
Just managed to find a copy of LeeDroid HD V3.0.2 have installed and found it also crashes but.... it gets to the LeeDroid Android screen, little further but unfortunately still crashes
Managed to get 3.0.3 working on my DHD turns out it was just down the cwm version i had, updated to 3.0.2.5 and boom worked first time =D only problem i have had with both 3.0.1 and 3.0.3 is the camera keeps dropping out, app doesn't force close but the screen keeps going black and all buttons dissapear then all comes back... =( Atleast i'm up to date though
Any Idea's on the Cam issue?
have run logcat and noticed the following in the log
W/mm-camera( 1400): config_proc_CAMERA_STOP_SNAPSHOT: state is not correct ctrl->state = 25 W/mm-camera( 1400): VFE_RESET_ACK illegal ctrl->state 24
dunno if that makes any sense to anyone
tinkered with it a little last night didn't seem to make a difference so left it over night and for some odd reason works fine this morning i think the issue was down the camera app itself but it looks to be working fine now thankfully
UPDATE:
Ok looks like the issue is still there found out what is causing it thought, the camera works fine but...only when wifi is off, if you turn wifi back on you get the same issue as before,
Please anyone got an idea on wtf?
UPDATE2: have worked out it must be the camera app due to the fact i download a different app which appeared to work fine. Not sure why there's a glitch though

Uh oh

Alright. My Inc is having some problems. Here are some facts
Bought on December 23, 2010
Rooted it somewhere in January
Ran CM6 till CM7 came out
Here's what's was going down after I flashed to CM7
Flash CM7
Every 15 minutes my google maps app will randomly crash. No matter what I'm doing a "GOOGLE MAPS HAS STOPPED RESPONDING" sign will appear.
Random reboots in the middle of doing nothing
Re-flashed to stock, then back to CM7 and everything seemed okay... until a few days ago
Suddenly while browsing the internet EVERYTHING CRASHES. EVERYTHING.
The browser, music, messaging, screenshot it, even google frameworks.
wtfman.jpg
reboot my phone, this occurs again after a few hours.
Next day it happens again. Now, my phone got stuck in a boot-loop
So I flash back to CM6. Now here's my phone's symptoms.
Home button won't work. It vibrates on press, but doesn't do anything.
Search button won't work
No lock screen will ever come up. Ever. It's set, but it never appears.
I cannot receive calls. People will call me, and it will immediately show up in my call log, but the answer screen simply doesn't show up.
What did I do wrong? How do I fix this?
Alternatively, how can I flash back to stock and make it look like I never rooted it? I believe I'm still within my warranty.
What hboot and radio are u on? I know if your not using a gingerbread radio with cm7 it likes to go all wonky at times. I would wipe everything try a fresh install of cm7 and flash a gingerbread radio as well.

sounds like you didn't wipe everything correctly. Did you wipe cache, devcache (probably spelled that wrong), data, datadata? Also did you restore apps through TI backup or any other backup app?

I did not wipe errything the first few flashes. But my last flash I wiped my cache, data, etc.
Try flashing the 7.07 Gingerbread radio, get it here http://pvillecomp.com/?page_id=18 and see if that helps.
Are there any alternatives to that?
Try flashing another ROM and see what happens. Make sure you wipe cache, dalvik, format system, and boot. Nandroid before you attempt that. Give Joelz Prime Xl 3d a try.

First update that old Froyo radio with the new stock not leaked and totally safe because Verizon officially released it radio that jackbtha1 suggested.
Second, boot into recovery and run "fix permissions." That option always helps me when my phone decides to FC everything. It has helped me so that I run it after every rom flash now

[Q] Rooted Evo 4g Wifi Won't Connect

So I'm having more problems with my freshly rooted Evo 4g.... I'm still running the Decks Reloaded rom however I did a fresh install and removed the fancy launcher that you can load with it which helped my phone to run a lot smoother and faster but all of a sudden my wifi won't connect to my home network. It cycles through obtaining an IP address then says it's not in range even though my phone is sitting right next to it. I rooted my bf's phone yesterday loaded the same decks reloaded rom on his and his wifi is working just fine.... I tried Wifi fxr from the market place but no luck. I need help this is driving me crazy.
Update to my problem I have no 4g as well.... so frustrated right now.
happened to me once on a different rom--what i did was enable wifi and powered off, when I rebooted everything was fine
What sezzme said could work. If not, its not your phone, its the ROM probably and if your having issues with a lot of ROMs, MAKE SURE YOUR SD CARD IS PARTITIONED
Thanks guys I'll try that.... I went back to my clean working nandroid backup did a good solid wipe then reloaded the rom. Wifi was working and then I had to reboot my phone (I can't remember why...) and then it quit working again. I'll try your suggestion and if that doesn't work well then I guess I'll try another rom.
When you say my sd card should be partitioned does that mean I should format it and then partition it???
Also just tried to turn on the wifi and reboot the phone that didn't work.

Yes. For 2 months i wasn't partitioned, and certain files when flashing ROM's and files, require a partition or something along those lines, Its just how it operates in a way. After i partitioned, my issues went away completely. Idk the specifics though.
Anyways, drag and drop your personal files from your phone, look up a partition guide, and knock yourself out, then wipe and reflash.
Great I'll give that a try.
just remember.. .just because that rom works on your bf's phone doesn't mean it will work on your phone.. .even though they are both evos, they may not work the same with custom roms

I partitioned the sd card reinstalled Reloaded and everything is working beautiful now. Thanks!
glad you got it working

[Q] com.android.phone problem!

a couple days ago i updated my nightly CM10.2, no problem, the next morning i get this pop up saying
"unfourtunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped"
ive looked all over the forum to see what fits my problem.
and nothing has solved it
i have changed to previous roms to see if that was the problem. - didnt work
i cleared my cache, dalvik cache, system, and data through TWRP
then installed Carbon,
the still problem continued.
the only relief is when i turn off my network data to OFF, but i need that, and when i turn it on again, the problem returns.
Can anyone please help, i am losing my mind every second that message keeps popping up.
That sucks for sure, I was having the exact same problem as well. No matter what aosp based rom I used I kept getting the same message. Here is what worked for me, although I have no idea if the first step does anything lol.
1) dl, wipe, and flash a good stock based rom like Optimus v4.6. Update prl/profile and activate phone.
2)now dl, wipe, and flash to the latest nightly of CyanogenMod. At this point you will still get the message. Turn off data. Go into manage apps. Force stop dialer and clear cache and data, then do the same for phone.
Now while still under all app click the menu button and select reset app preferences.
3) do not turn data on yet. Now restart into recovery. Wipe/format cache and delvik.
4) now reboot phone as normal. Let your phone do it thing. You can now turn data back on!
I have no idea why this worked for me nore do I take credit for coming up with this. I can't remember where I found it on-line.
I hope this works for you as well as it did for me.
