Little bit of somewhat a noob question ^_^.. but this isn't really my area..
So I've tried to search a bit about this topic but didn't find anything (if anyone knows of a thread on this exact question plz link )..
Why is it that most GB ROMs give me a score of +/- 1300 on Quadrant Standard.. and MIUI gives me 2300.. So with that kind of difference, why do I see little or no difference between the actual performance of this and e.g. cyanogenmod.
Also, are the results given because of a good kernel? and if so why don't other AOSP ROMs use it?

I think I found a bug report on it here but there doesn't seem to be any fix or work around. Anyone else seeing this problem and figure out a way to fix it?
Thats a normal bug...nothing you can do about it right now other than flash a custom rom w/ franco kernel. This kernel seems to have helped folks alot with high cpu usage during deep idle.
There's an ongoing discussion here.
I am trying to use the speed porting software to port an MIUI Rom from the Desire HD (as suggested in the instructions) and am getting the following problem. any help is much appreciated

Time for a good old fashioned benchmark thread.
Disclaimer: I know benchmarks don't mean much, but I enjoy these threads.

Hi,
Already exists: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1443343
I just saw the xda video but many people say it helps battery life
Anyone here try it? I'm Bout to try it
I believe the benefit is for gsm networks, I tried it and couldn't tell a difference.
Search results yielded that it made the internet connection slower for others.
Being that we are cdma, I would leave it on.
You can try it yourself, you won't hurt anything.
I don't know about battery life yet as it seems the same but speeds dropped from 244KB/s to 180KB/s I left it on: (

Benchmark tests are not that useful, the general behaviour of the device and the performance with heavy tasks among other things, are what will tell you the truth
