Does anyone know if there's a way to always have the camera flash enabled, even when the battery is below 20%?
Disable power saver in settings. also go into camera app and set the flash settings to always

Is there a mod/app for this? When using navigation the screen dims after 2 min which is ideal when not charging buta pain when on charge in the car

I use Caffeine. You need to load it if you reboot the phone, but once it's running it works perfectly.
Maybe not exactly what you need, but "Keepscreen" can disable screen time out for programs (like your navigation software) seperately.

There's a setting in Settings > Applications > Development to have the screen stay on while charging. Have you tried that?

Is it possible to lock the screen but keep it on? This is because the WiFi always loses connection when the screen is off. I have tried every app there is to keep the WiFi fully awake when the screen is off but none of them work.

Settings > Wifi > Menu > Advanced > Wifi policy, You've tried that?
Yes. I have tried that.
Did u tried "no lock" apps from market, try that
"No lock" apps are not what I am looking for. I need it locked so I don't keep knocking things and the screen kept on or to find a way to disable the stupid WiFi sleep thing so it runs at full power even when the screen off. Is there a way to do this?
I have searched and found something that could disable the WiFi power saver at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16519177#post16519177 . Can someone check this and get it working on the HTC Wildfire S kernel version 2.6.35.10-ga66971c and 2.3.5 stock ROM?
Sometimes when my phone comes out of sleep mode, the wi-fi doesn't pick up at all, so I have to disable and then re-enable it.
I tried reinstalling the radio button and still nothing.
I have Battery Defender and GSAM Battery installed and thought maybe it had something to do with the settings there to save power, but there doesn't seem to be anything there that would affect the wi-fi.
Anyone with any thoughts?
Thank you

Battery defender might be putting your WiFi to sleep to save battery when your device goes to sleep.
Also check to make sure WiFi isn't set to standby on default.
Go into settings select WiFi tap menu button press advanced and make sure keep WiFi on during sleep is set to always or a similar setting

Hi Guys,
I still have some late notifications once in a while from different programs.
Line (Messaging)
Google Calendar
HQ (Trivia game)
And a few others...
I have made sure to disable the "Auto" power manager setting for those apps and most of the time they do work normally. However once a week or so I miss a calendar notification or other notifications. I'm guessing this has to do with the aggressive background task killing on Chinese phones, or maybe the AI stuff? Either way, I want my notifications to work and come in on time.
Are there any hidden settings I am missing to disable background task killing? (I had an older Huawei phone that allowed you to disable Huawei memory management in developer settings, but that's not on this phone)
Thanks!
I'm having the same issue on a mate 20 pro, but up to now I could not find a resolution. It's annoying as our doorbell works with a push message that does not always gets delivered instant now.
Try locking the app along with turning off smart notification and turning on the setting to keep mobile active when in sleep mode. Seemed to work for my AL00 which has aggressive power handling.
on top of changing auto mod for app launch there's also battery optimization which isn't in battery menu but in application - special access menu. Try to disallow apps you need maybe it helps.

It's in Developer Options on my L29.
Sorry if this is old news for everybody here, but I saw night mode option under developer options and said what the heck and set it to always on. I did not expect it to do much because I already set the theme to Dark in Settings and that doesn't seem to affect anything but the notification bar.
well lo and behold, a couple of apps are now dark that previously weren't even though the apps have no dark theme setting. Namely Instagram and play store. Go figure. Of course there apps that I really want to be dark -- Gmail, Settings, and hangout -- aren't. That's Google for you.
Also Google Drive and Google Photos become dark

Sure, that mode it's intended only for battery saver mode, but you can force enable it; if you use a lot the battery saver feature, you will notice that it will reset the dark mode when turned off; so if you want a convenient switch, use the app linked below; you can set a QS Switch with it.

Instagram too.

It resets only when turning on and off battery saver; but, yes, the app can easily toggle dark mode once it gets reseted, it's easily accessible in Quick Settings menu; otherwise you will have to go into developer options and enable it from there, everytime.
The following is only needed in Pie btw, Android 10 already has changed the way dark mode behaves.

It's an old bug - turn off the dark mode in messaging and it will be fine.

could you please elaborate a bit?
Do you mean we can prevent the battery saver switching from disabling the dark mode always on setting? How exactly? Thanks
Google it. After unplugging charger it returns to night mode. Without this setting in messaging it won't return.
It must be this, becouse I am using battery saver mode all the time.
