USG OTG from Ebay INDIA - Galaxy S II Accessories

Has anyone bought this from ebay india.
http://cgi.ebay.in/SAMSUNG-GALAXY-S...Accessories&hash=item3f0cb168ed#ht_1964wt_962
If yes pls give some feedback.
Whether it can be connected to a portable 1TB external Hard Disk without any external power supply?
Thanks In Advance

I bought USB OTG from ebay india yesterday. awaiting its delivery. if you can wait, I will let you know. Although, it was not this particular one. I ordered the Nokia ca-157 one which are going for ~200 bucks. But they should work, I hope.
Will let you know.
About external HDD, I think for large devices, you need a power supply. Phone can only power small devices AFAIK. Again, can test ad let you know once I get mine.

Thank you. I appreciate it if you let me know once you get yours.
Can you post the link of the one you bought?
The person who is selling the item which i have mentioned is from Delhi only. He is selling that for only Rs.399.
I called him up to clarify some doubts. He said he tried with 4Gb pendrive and 500GB HardDisk(with power supply not the portable one).

i bought this one yesterday: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...00862&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_5158wt_1080
its alot cheaper. ill return when i get it (probably ~2 weeks)

I think this one is much better

cheap memery card reader

I bought one of these and found them useful as i can not always have my sync cable with me to transfer data from my xda.
So i decided to buy a load so everyone else can have the benefit of my little find. i know these have been around for a bit but i have never found one as small as this. also it has protective covers on the end so you don't get any dirt in there.
Here is a link to my auction:
http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZairportinfo
Why are you charging 3.59 postage?
yeah, P&P is quite expensive. See if you can get it down a bit and i'll snap one up.
Can you tell me - does it relly double as a USB drive, ie requires no driver? I know they're meant to, but I don't trust the Thai ebayer that was selling them, never responded to emails
V
should try softick card export...turns your PPC into a usb card reader
then all you have to carry around is your sync cable.

Speedn, I see they've finalyl released the Magician version. Will give it a go.
Does it really work as a USB Drive, ie no drivers required?
I'd rather use the reader/writer being sold here, so I can use my Fast 1gb SD as a USB card at full speed, but at work we've got Admin restrictions, so it'd be nice to know it doesn't require drivers etc.
Will give it a go!
Thanks for the pointer.

im the seller of that item. i have priced it so it undercuts everyone on ebay. that’s at total price of £6.58. do a search!!!!
Im a uk seller so that means not delays or custom charges. and as you can see on most of my items they are next day delivery. I have listed all the items i have currently got at the moment and im not sure if i will be able to get anymore.
there are no drivers required unless you are using win98. if you need the drive for win 98 details for the download are available on the instructions supplied.
here they cost about 4£
would not get a noname myself though
had issues with incompatible flash readers before

I’m competing with other ebayers so i need to have a low buy it now price otherwise no one will look at my auctions also ebay charge you more if you list an item at a buy it now price of more than £5.99. It is not uncommon to have a high p&p price on ebay. when ever im bidding i always look to see how much the item is and how much P&P is. add them together and then you can work out if you want to pay for the item simple really!!!

USB Mount Cable - doesn't work, can I modify?

Hi,
I bought a cheap USB OTG cable (£2), which was supposed to work on the Galaxy Nexus, but doesn't seem to.
I will probably buy another one anyway (any recommendations which one I should buy, and where), but I just wondered if there was anyway I could modify the one I have to work with a USB drive?
Cheers
Stewart
ebay seller iTrimming sells a working OTG host cable for GNex.

Sorry, should have said before. I have tried StickMount - no go! The stick doesn't even light up when connected.
And I would prefer a UK seller! Thanks though!!
Ordered one from iTrimming!
Hopefully should work ok!

EDIT: Apparently this one will NOT work for the s3 since it requires an 11 pin adapter.
This seems to be the most affordable and quality product that I could find, and has really good reviews on Amazon as well. At $11.99, you really can't go wrong here.

That adapter is not for the S3 as it is still has a 5 pin connection. The S3 requires an 11 pin adapter.

Is this confirmed for the sgs3? I thought it used a new, unique mhl adapter. Samsung has made an adapter for old adapters but that's like another $15 and then you need two dongle things

Thanks for letting me know -- I have this sitting in my shopping cart right now! :good: For some reason this pops-up when you search accessories for the S3 though.
Found this for $8.95 at Android Central Store.

I refuse to buy an adapter FOR an adapter on principle.
I'll just keep waiting for the $10 knockoff MHL adapter that's s3-compatible to pop up on Ebay

[Q] otg flash drive

I'm considering this setup. The price seems very reasonable. I think it should work with the One. Any thoughts?

I believe the micro usb storage/flash drives are just starting to come out. You can skip the OTG all together. Think I saw one posted here not too long ago. Maybe dig a little deeper.
And another option http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...not-discriminate-between-pcs-and-smartphones/

Yeah I did do some digging and initially looked at the micro flash drives. The option you mentioned is $30 for 32gb whereas my option for 64gb only $10 more and would be about the same size dimensionally. Thanks for the insight though.
I found these on eBay earlier today:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/MicroSD-Card-Reader-with-Mini-USB-Sync-Cable-/220584799910
I haven't ordered yet but I like them better than the other micro USB microSD card readers I've found because they are really small and have a lanyard. You can attach it to your keys or add it to a dust plug like a cell phone charm. The listing has other HTC models, so I assume it works with the One.

Nice find. But 64gb setup would be $60, I want cheapest/functional (I'm at $40).

You can buy a 64 GB microSD card for about $15 - $20. Add $10 for the adapter and you'd still come out ahead. Plus it apparently works as a sync/charging cable (though a very, very short one).
The listing says 8GB max, but that might have been the largest size available when they were made. I went ahead and made an offer to the seller, so if anyone is interested I'll report back whether it works with higher-capacity cards.
Doh, I just realized the reader has a MINI USB connector. Won't work for the One. However, I did find something similar with the correct port (and cheaper) for anyone else who may be interested in pursuing this route.

Ordered one myself! Can't beat the price, we'll find out how the quality is when it gets here.
Thy have sent pictures to the backers that would indicate they are very concerned about quality. They have delayed the project a few months, but it's getting close to completion.
Finally came in today. Looks and works well.
I assume it works fine as well?

Would a OnePlus 3 USB Type-C OTG adapter work for OnePlus 2?

Been trying to get the damn OTG thing to work, but no luck. After a lot of searching around XDA forums, among other places, came to the realisation that only the official OnePlus MicroUSB to Type-C adapter supports OTG. Too bad they don't sell them anymore and I can't find any elsewhere online.
They do sell a newer version for the OP3 on their online store and I was wondering if that would work too. I ask because I've already got a thousand cables and adapters I've tried that didn't work, so I don't wanna drop any more cash on this.
Tried to contact OP support and they didn't really seem to understand what I wanted and just said it would work "because it's USB Type-C". Yeah, so were all the other damn cables I bought.
TL;DR: Would a OnePlus 3 USB Type-C OTG adapter work for OnePlus 2?
UPDATE: Original Xiaomi USB Type-C to Micro USB Adapter works.

Hi!
My bro had a 1+2, he bought an USB cable Type-C OTH from OnePlus store... he had tried to connect an USB several times, but it doesn't work :'(
OK awesome, so basically stay the f*** away from OP in the future is the lesson here.
Hi there, in my fourth purchase of OTG have purchased a fully compatabile one for my OP2. I am finally able to connect with out any issues. I have purchased it from Indian ebay for ₹68/- only. But works like a champ. The model or company name is MX in caps written on the OTG which is black in colour.
usb otg
When i bought my OnePlus 2 i purchased the microusb otg cable and the microusb to type c adapter and have no issues with it working. it could be a a possible compatibility issue or maybe the rom you're on doesn't support otg.
Hello. I'm from India too. I'm not finding any product branded as MX. I would really appreciate if you can share the link form where you bought it.
Thanks in advance

Little update, in case anyone else is looking for OTG support the Original Xiaomi USB Type-C to Micro USB Adapter works. They're a *bleep* to find in Europe, but you can get them on tinydeal (ships from China)

Came to the UK in less than 2 weeks with the cheapest shipping option (also free shipping available, but would've taken more than 2 weeks).
Thanksyou for letting me know. I am Happy that it is worked for you.
