Peace all,
I hope someone here can assist me (not good at all making my own themes). I'm currently running xxBabiBoixx's Carbon ROM --which by the way is a fast EXCELLENT ROM, everyone on Evo should try it. He curently has a themed Rosie based on HTC stock's Rosie (Carbonized). For more space on my homescreen (for minimalist type view) I would like to use Manup's Alternate Rosie (files found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7812533&postcount=1023)
The reason why I'm asking for a Metamorph is because BabiBoi has implemented a whole set of nice mods including flip/fold animations, transparent notification shade and app drawer and modded icons for notifications. When I tried to flash Manup's Alt. Rosie it copied itself over top of his (i guess cause his ROM is heavily themed). I even tried to flash xxVirusxx's BACKTOSTOCK ZIP and it removed all of BabiBoi's modifications to his ROM.
Any help or tip to get this working on my phone would be greatly appreciated (I'm learning daily from being on this site )

I would like a metamorph of the 5 apps in a row from the latest ava rom. I like that rosie but have a few mods to the rosie I'm currently using, so if I knew exactly what file or edit I could replace so that I could keep most of my rosie.

This is not, based on SteelH's request, I went ahead and did the mod, as I had done it many moons ago as well, on the Hero, though, as mentioned, I don't personally prefer .
Having said this, I did not spend a lot of time other then getting the icons to be 5 wide, so yea, there's probably some optimizing that can be done. Hope this gets you started in the right direction.
This should work on any Rosie based on the current Sprint 2.2.

Yep, you "should" be able to do this w/o issue. YMMV, nandroid first!

just did a nandroid. =]
while were speaking of nandroids, your a smart dev so maby you will know the answer. i made a nandroid yesterday before trying to mod something. nandroid said all was fine. when my modding didn't go over well, i went to restore my nandroid and i keep getting md5 missmatch. ????? i dont know whats wrong.

Never happened to me, but I know I've seen posts with similar problems. Are you using Clockwork recovery? There are some things you can try, but, really, just do a search in the forums, you'll find a resolution. Also, did you rename the nandroid?

I didn't look at the file, but I'd have to assume that the mod was done using a different approach then. PM me and we can continue the discussion. I have text removed from icons, so when I modded the XML I didn't notice an issue. If you let me know, I'll just fix in the version I posted, whatever the issue may be.

I don't use this Rosie, so if you can point me to where it is / what it looks like, I'll whip something up for you, out of nothing other than sheer guilt...

Not sure if anyone's trying to get this already but I would like to have the sleep/wake animation (looks like old tv turning off) that is new in gingerbread 2.3.
I am running myn's rls4. (He has 2.3 the keyboard in his first post now btw)
I'm with you on this one. Of all the small cosmetic changes I've seen with gingerbread, the wake/sleep animation is definitely the coolest. I'm also running RLS 4.
I too am excited for just this ONE feature. lol

Reading in the forum from the hacked sdk version echo released that feature is not in it. Could be wrong though.

You are correct, I am running that version right now just playing with it. The sleep/wake animation is not there at all
I was browsing the other forums last night and found a sort of user made one, I think it was in either the N1 dev scetion or the Incredible. Not sure which one I saw it in. Yea it was in the Incredible section.

Here is the animation re-made (I removed the 'HTC').
Use rootexplorer to search for 'shutdown.zip' or 'downanimation.zip'
It will most likely be located at /system/customize/resource .
Rename my upload to what you find in your rom is named and replace.

I cannot find this in myn's rom so it is probably named something different =/ SO, this is totally experimental.
Please let me know what you guys find.
I don't seem to have to folder on my cyanogen 6.1 or that file is there somewhere else it would be or named.

FYI
Even if this did work (which it won't on myn's rom as he has no shutdown animation in his build) This zip would be modding the power down animation, not the sleep/wake animation.....
But, feel free to let us know if your rom has powerdown animation and if this worked for you =)

I would give just about ANYTHING to get this working on my EVO with WarmTwoPointTwo RLS 5.
I tried the Cyanogen7 nightlies and the screen off/on animations and the black menus were the only thing I liked. There is a mod for the menus now, so I just NEED the tv on/off animations.
I am very very much interested in this.
This rom is based on Froyo 2.2, whenever myn updates it to a gingerbread rom i will also, untill then its only froyo 2.2

Known issue's
When playing videos in high quality from the youtube app they will look odd misplaced colors, changing to normal quality fixes this, for HQ youtube videos download opera Mobile 11 from the market and watch the directly form the website.
There is also a bug when entering the mobile network settings it will fc, so to change bands or anything related to that, try and find a market app that does that, im sure there's plenty.
To set your apns if there missing get this app. im sure the market has more.

Okay so i downloaded, its legit fasted 2.2 sense rom right now on the G2. Everything is working.. but as far as looks go something doesnt feel right. The notification bar icons dont fit. Is it possible to get the original sense notification bar? I dont care much for the gingerbread icons at all with this.

cant help you there, check the rom original thread, theres a bunch of mods and stuff you can flash to the rom.
Hey magic just clarify if I flash the optional download from the original thread it will work on our phones?

If you can't help with that then I'm assuming I cant really expect much of else? Evo is a bigger screen.. so assume those mods and themes fit towards the "Evo" standard.

calm down dude, the reason icons are like that is because thats the way myn whanted it, thats how the theme works. i really cant do anything, because i would be changing how myn looks and thats not my goal here. and im sure myn would not like hes rom being spread with stuff changed. again you are more than welcome to do it your self for your personal use.

it has too, to my knowledge it should work.
Rom works great, really fast for sense...... might stick with this one for a bit, even though its 2.2 .
Had this ROM on my Evo and it was great (one of the better ones). Nice to see it here for the G2.
I've been waiting for WYN to come to the G2 for a longtime. The ROM is FAST for sense and I ran a quadrant without and got 1296 not bad. I will use this as my DD for a while. I also like the customization you can do with this ROM. So far I tired to download several custom items and no luck but still it's a nice ROM.

you cant download them?, or you download them/install then and they dont work? they might incompatible with this myn z version in particular.
Wasnt trying to be a jerk. Ive looked on the evo thread, did not see any kind of original icon/notification bar... this rom is awesome.. like ive said.. and im quite sketchy of flashing anything from the evo unless confirmed it will work.

i know whats wrong you have to change the update script to the new endian format.

trying to flash the power widget mod, but it docent whant to work, it flashes but does nothing. il keep at it let you guys know.
Any of these super chefs want to give us a definitive guide on how to add the CRT animations to a ROM?
I am more than comfortable with decompiling and modifying XMLs, but it would be nice to know where i am going.
Think of it this way... Whenever anyone else asks you about the animations, you can just link them to this thread and be done with it.
And yes, i have searched and there isnt much good information out there.
Even better - any way someone can create a flashable zip to add these to any rom? Now that devs are baking them into their roms,i dont see why it wouldn't be possible!

Try this flashable zip BUT before you go and do all of this, NANDROID backup your ROM......ONCE AGAIN, BACKUP your ROM.....because this is 50/50, it might work, I just tried it on sense 2.2 and it works like a champ!
Also, don't just flash it and NEVER come on here again....let me know if it does or doesn't because if it does then I'll start up a thread so others can use it....

I'm looking for a transparent Google Voice widget. I've searched high and low on XDA and the web and have probably tried 8 different apks that claim to be transparent but they don't work for me. I had one working on my Epic but the transparency doesn't show on the Note 2. I'm running Sprint stock LJC rooted. Any help would be appreciated, but please, don't post a link unless you've tried it and know it works. Thanks!
