I quite close to selling my Universal as i'm having problem carryng it. Cant find a case slim enoug to attach to my belt, the ones out in the market are just to chunky. And if i keep the PDA in my pocket it sticks out.
I've just bought a slim leather case for my O2 Exec from Noreve ( www.noreve.com ) that I'm very pleased with. It has a rather good belt attachment too. Comes in grey or black and costs €39.99.
Here's the link for the Universal case: http://www.noreve.com/brand/Qtek/pr...TC_universal_-_i-Mate_Jasjar_Tradition_-.html
You can also take a look at some other cases for the Universal at, for example, www.addonsworld.co.uk
G
The universal is a clamshell device. It does not need a case. I just close it an pop it in my pants pocket. That way its smaller than my old device, the Loox 720, in its thin slip case.
Try it for a few days without a case. You will be amazed.
Surur
I carry my Universal in my hands very carefully like a priest would his bible.
When I wear a belt, I put my V1640 in its Proporta case and attach it to my belt clip on my belt.
If I don't wear a belt, I put the V1640 in its original leather case and then in my pocket. I might do what surur does though.
If I just go for a simple walk, I carry it on a padded belt pouch. If I am at the gym, I carry it using a semi-hard case made for the NINTENDO DS which I bought for $2.95 at Radio Shack.
I would not recommend to put any Pocketpc in the pockets of your trousers. All devices are made of plastic, which is bending. Because of this, the device will bend when you move and after some time (approx. 4-6 months) it will produce errors, which are hardware related.
I bought an universal leather belt case from pielframa, which is perfect for the universal.
I got my Universal as a replacement for a Ipaq H5550, and i've found the old leather case for the Ipaq is almost perfect for the Universal. [Even with extended battery] The leather is better quaility and has more padding than the Universals case, yet it doesn't fell bulky, plus it also has a bulit-in belt clip and SD card holder.
I have to remove the Universal from the case to use it [no BT headset yet], but I had to do that with the Ipaq. So thats not a problem for me. :?

LOL Excellent !
I personnaly use a Krussel case, and I especially like the keyboard cover that protects my beloved Universal when I surf AND eat Nutella...
The Universal is either at my belt (at the crook of my back when I wear a suit, it is practically invisible), or in my case, since I have my tiny Jabra BT-800 in my pocket to answer calls...

where did you buy the krussel case with keyboard cover? can you fully close the universal with it? i saw a brando case with keyboard protection but the cover was too thick and it wouldn't close fully when i triedit...
thanks!
Hi there
Yes, I can fully close the Universal as the plastic cover, while being astoninshingly strong and resilient, is thinner than the pads on the lower corners of the keyboard. It doesn't get scratched either, it fits almost perfectly the shape of the Universal and almost nothing manages to slip under it. Finally, it doesn't change the "feel" of the Universal's keys, so the keyboard still is very fast to use, and still feels as good as when it is naked.
All in all a great case, the only way to improve it IMHO would have been to make it a two-pieces, independant set, with one for the keyboard base and the other for the swivel screen, but the downside to that would have been that the Uni would have received much less protection. So I'm very satisfied with it, especially when I see how cheap it is compared to Covertec / Noreve stuff.
One last thing to say is that it is also surprisingly durable: leather is still in prime shape, there are no deformations whatsoever, even though I've used it 24/7 for the past 6 months.
I saw the Brando you're refering to, I think, and I exactly know what you mean. No such thing with the Krussel.
I personnally bought it from a french web-shop called Kabiloo (excellent service, I'd recommend: www.kabiloo.com), for 25 €. But I saw it on many other european web-shops, such as expansys: http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=127398 . I didn't find any hungarian resellers though...

hi, this sounds great!!
i checked out the links. isn't this krusell the same as here: http://www.addonsworld.co.uk/product.php/28415/3340/
i've actually been considering the addonsworld one, but had no idea it included the keyboard cover!
so do you think it is the same? i'm going to order this from there then, they will ship here.. and expansys says not in stock.. (availability 7 days.. sure.. i don't trust expansys )
thanks again, you helped a lot i was really uncomfortable not being able to decide which case to get.. but i liked the krusell one the best even before reading your post.
Hehe, yep, that's te one I was indeed talking about.
It's probably not as "classy" as a NoReve, for sure, but it clearly is IMHO the most practical, with the best quality / price, I've seen around.

hehe, cool, thanks, i've ordered it immediately. hope i can tell about my experiences soon!
i didn't like the noreve one so much... it looked ok but not so practical for my usage. still, better than the pdair stuff. except for their metal case (at pdair), i've seen the metal version just today, and it looks excellent, my only complaint was its huge size. (and no keyboard protection..) other than that it is indeed very usable and feels robust. so its biggest advantage is that you don't have to be afraid of dropping your 1000EUR universal but i just found it too big.. so there's hoping the krusell will fit my needs perfectly
Nice move. For its price, it's a bargain, IMHO. You won't regret.

A word of WARNING
Hi,
here is a real nightmare story.....with a happy ending. I bought a Sony Ericsson P900 and loved the belt pouch that came with it.It clipped onto my belt and it was great.
Then the day after I paid over 600 euro for my phone I went into a supermarket for a browse around and proceeded to look at some boots which were on display in large metal creels. I had to lean over the side to pick up some for a closer look.
Later as I left the store something which had registered in my subconscious finally made it to the conscious and I reached for my phone........it was not there. I freaked. I retraced my steps in the store frantically looking for the phone, but no joy it was gone.
I borrowed someone elses phone and tried ringing it but the background noise was high and and I could not hear it.Ater an hour searching I gave up and left the store....devistated.
When I git to the car I just had to go back and take one last look, by now an hour had passed and the store was very busy. I went back to where the boots were and started looking through them again......and BINGO, there it was. I put the phone in my pocket for the journey home.
DONT USE A CASE THAT CLIPS ONTO YOUR BELT......GET ONE THAT HAS A PERMANENT BELT LOOP SO THAT IT CAN ONLY BE TAKEN OFF BY OPENING THE BELT BUCKEL. I got away with it, but it could have been a very costly lesson.
Shirt pocket
I like my phone in my shirt pocket. That way I can get to it easily, and put it back, and even hear it ring. No falling off my belt, no getting caught on things I'm walking by (I get my pockets caught on things occasionally; a phone sticking out is out of the question), no having it fall off into a boot, no crushing it in jeans pockets. This has a really big downside - it falls out any time I bend over and if I ever have to run I have to hold it in my pocket.
With my previous phone, a Treo, I bought egrips and those held it securely in a pocket. But egrips won't stick to an MDA, it is too slick. They come off after a few weeks of use.
So I attached a neck strap from a sandisk USB flash drive and put that around my neck. This saved it from falling into an aquarium just today. I can use the phone well, it is long enough. Occasionally it gets wrapped in the shoulder harness. It looks dorky, my wife thinks. Wait until she sees the Hello Kitty neck strap I've been eyeing.
Why does a USB flash drive come with a neck strap, anyway? Who wears a USB flash drive around their neck? And when will someone build a USB drive that fits in my wallet? The Cruzer almost does, but not quite.
Sena Cases just released their Ultraslim for the Captivate a couple weeks back, and I ordered one in black today. If you're looking for a high quality leather pouch, this one can't be beat.
It adds minimal bulk to the phone, adds great protection, and makes your phone look damn good. The interior of the case is lined in a velvety cloth that cleans your phone as well (nice for the screen). The cloth does leave some lint on your phone until the case is broken in a bit, but it's not that big of a hassle.
I had two of them for my previous phone, the iPhone 3G, and they were great. Even though the case is super thin, the seams of the leather are on the edges of the phone, so they provide great drop resistance. I dropped my iPhone many times with it on, and not a hint of damage whatsoever. They come fitting snug but loosen up a bit through regular use in about a week so that removal from the case is easy. I'll update once I receive mine, but I already know the quality of it will be outstanding.
I have been waiting for this case for some while now, as I have been using my phone mostly without a case since last August when I bought it. I have the Body Glove Mirage case (hard rubber skin), which is a great case as well, but it just adds too much bulk for my liking, so I don't use it unless I think I'll be doing something that could put my phone at risk. This case is great for those of you that like using your Cappy sans protection, but like having it protected when not in use.
The case comes in 5 colors: Black, Brown, Red, White, and Frappuccino. I had black and beige for my iPhone, and the colors are really durable as well, as the coloring did not wear throughout my use of either case. As with any leather though, the lighter colors are prone to staining if you get it dirty, but that's your fault if that happens. If you don't want to worry about the staining, get black for sure.
I can't post a link as I'm a new user, but just search Sena Cases on google and you can find it on their site easily.
Feel free to ask questions.
i do not like this type of case, it is a case for storage, not for daily usage ...

+1
not for daily use. i'll have to keep putting in n pulling out atleast a few hundred times each day.
I don't see how taking an extra second to access my phone makes this case bad for 'daily use'. To me, that extra second is well worth the extra screen protection that I get when the phone is in it. For somebody with an active job, I can see where removing it would be a hassle. However, for a student like me, I don't find myself in situations where this case presents a problem, no matter how many times I need to access my phone. I also find that the case acts as a great place to rest my phone on a table, desk, etc.
My logic for using this case is simple. When I'm using my phone, I like the feel of a bare phone. Also, don't see a need for protection while I'm using my phone, as my attention is enough to keep mind not to drop it or let it be damaged. I find that my phone is most prone to damage when I'm not using it, as I don't devote my attention to it, which is where the case excels with protection, and why I personally prefer this type of case.
Some people, including myself, find just the opposite to be true. My phone is the in the least amount of danger sitting on my desk or in my pocket. It's when I'm taking it out of my pocket or actively talking on it that it slips and falls the most. Hence, I use a body glove case that will protect it from the lofty fall from my hand to the ground.
Yep, just like I said. The case obviously isn't for everybody, but is any case really perfect for everybody? For the way I treat my phone, the case is great.
The case just showed up today, and I exchanged my phone on warranty over the weekend for a faulty external speaker, so I have a completely new setup (already rooted and currently running Paragon 5.1). I might post pics of the case and how it looks with the phone (if I can as a new member?) if I get around to it this week, I have a couple of midterms to keep me busy this week.
Again, questions welcome.
Hi, as the title suggests I have both. Now I don't really know which one to keep. The pouch feels like it has better protect5ion if it drops and the swen edges may offer some bounce if you know what I mean. However the flip case feels better but feels kind of bare :-\ . It seems to offer no protection at all. Which one of these have you gone for or would go for if you had the option.
Hi,
i preferred to choose the flip for several reasons.
- Makes me feel the Gnote is a real note book.
- Just easier to use because you do not need to pull it out of the pouch to see the time of the day or check mail. Just more handy.
- If i need protection i'll buy or make a pouch while keeping the flip cover.
Anyway, it's more a personal choice, choose what's more handy for you.
I have the flip cover, and stick it in a small pouch for my bag (or map pocket of my jacket if I'm out and about) .
the pouch I have opens length ways so the note slides out really easily.
is flip cover really convenient?
Hi,
I wonder if flip cover is really convenient..........
Can u all type or take a snap or capture video comfortably?
I have both too, and only use the pouch for when i'm only going out briefly, and can't be bothered ripping the back panel from the Note and installing the flip case. (Can't leave the case on or it won't fit in it's dock)
I can see it being useful as extra protection too though, if I ever need to put it in a bag, while cycling for example.
I have kept the flip case now. I will begetting the carbon fiber skin as well (I had it on my HD2 as well) and will apply it to the flip case. I find it easier to hold now, i mostly hold it with one hand like in reading a book. As the post above says, I will keep the pouch for when I put it in a bag or need that extra protection. The flip case fits inside the pouch.
thanks for all
but can any one make some photos please??
& from where you bought it??
with big thanks for all of u again
Following the saying that one can not be too careful, is it possible to have the flipcover on and put the Note with the flipcover in the original pouch. :cyclops:
These kind of threads amuse me.
Just use the damn pouches or covers you have and decide for yourself what you like most.

hey all,
i just bought the case for fun, and i wanted to take a few test pictures with my new camera.
its a soft silicon case so it doesn't really hold on to the phone. in other words, it slips off if you try to pull it out of your jeans unless you grab it first and then slowly pull it out, but if you try to slide it out of your pocket the corner might slip off.
also it came with a screen protector which looks okay, and it works. If you want to lay it on the screen it has like a 1 mm gap between screen and table, but i don't know if it would protect it.
another thing that might bothers some people, besides the case almost slipping off, are the holes they cut out for the headphones and the mics...it really just looks like a 6 year old is trying to make his/her first circle cutout, and if you want to charge it you have to make sure its plugged in correctly.
conclusion
+ looks awesome IMO
+ great way to get girls to talk to you
+ can't argue about ca. 5 EUR
+ came with a screen protector shield
- doesn't really hold on the phone it feels like you're rapping your phone in jello
- holes are not cut out nicely
- if your phone faces down it might not protect the screen very well
- have to really firmly push the charging cable in it
now to the pictures.
Yup, it grabs attention and is good enough to protect from scratches, but the phone does pop out sometimes, so I switched to Taurus.

I got the white one, attention grabber for sure "why's that guy talking to a cassette tape?!?"
wow the white eye really catches more attention! looks cool.
@ShiftPlusOne
i googled the taurus one, is it the aluminum one? cuz that one looks tempting too.
Where did you get this?
Where can I get this case?? I need to know!!
I got it off ebay.com, but its also available on amazon.com.

Looks cool! Someone should make something like this that's a bit more sturdy...I'd buy one!
at my country, they sell this at night market..
Hi,
I just got my SGS2 and wanted to order a case for its protection so I took a look around and found this from Astrobile. ( Google it, forum doesn't let me to post url ) It's pretty awesome on paper, cause i didn't get it yet, but I looking forward it is indeed cool.
They have a 1 plus 1 event now, so you can get 2 for a price of one. They also include 2 screen protector with it. It's Made in Korea.
Why is it Hybrid? Its made of plastic, but at the back of it there is a metal plate which "make your device looks slimmer". Imo it could also helps keep your device cooler. My SGS2 is getting real hot when playing constantly for an hour or more.
Im already excited about it, can't wait to get it! I will update when i get them, they said it will take about 10 days.
And the best of all, there is free shipping to worldwide. Of course you can take a Express Shipping, but that's not for free...
Arrived!
Hello!
As i promised, i will write a mini-review according to my first few impressions about the case when i get it, so here you are!
First things first, it has arrived fairly quick according to it was a free shipping. +1!
It has came in a pink plastic bag, nothing special. The package of the case itself is nice, suggests quality, +0.5!
The first problem face me when i actually opened the box and got the black case in my hands. I noticed it is kinda thick,-0.5, and has some shimmering material mixed in the black TPU, -1!!!. This is weird, but must be the Korean taste for beauty...OK.
The next thing I didn't like about thie case was it thickness, ok I already mentioned it, BUT the holes for the buttons are also that deep that they're hardly accessible. They could have made some "case-buttons" or I don't know the expression for that. -1!!! Maybe something like on this one.
The metal backplate also has some color transition from black to silver (mostly silver for a "black" backplate), and I don't like it. I have to give a -0.5.
Alright, enough of the CONs, let's see some more PROs. This case is not that bad at all. Its Sturdy enough, but still flexible so I can believe my phone is protected from small height drops (if not landed on the screen - tho the case has some edge which laps over the phone, so if you turn it face down, your screen won't be scratched, also the screen protector is there.) So this worth a +1! The touch of the material is good, less slippy then the phone naked, but still not as good as it could be. (Maybe my hands are just to small for such a huge screen and while im tryin to reach the other end of the screen with my goofy fingers it just wants to slip off of my hand. - So I won't give penalty on this.
The matte screen protector included is absolutely superb quality! It has a really nice touch, a colors doesn't distorted and it's free of any oil, fingerprints, +1. Tho I have to mention that on the website they were talking about 2 screen protectors will be included, this is a -0.5...
And of course don't forget about the extra case included with every purchase of this model from the color of your choice (even the same your ordered originally). They have black and white with various backplates.
I won't give penalty points on this, cause this was a gift
So, the thing is it is kinda the same as the black, since it also has that crappy shimmering thing mixed into the material, but it is less visible than on the black one. Backplate is the same aswell, weird color transition...But again, it was gift. So it is OK
The Verdict:
Summa Summarum, the case has finished with a +1 in its stash. My impressions is just confused as this rating.
I like it a bit, but I don't think I will stick with it too long. For a first case it's just perfect, since my main goal is just to protect the phone, and it does the job well. Tiny imperfections like the deep button hole is a thing i could get used to by time, not really a big issue.
Next time I will definitely go for a bumper-style case which preserves my phone's slick for factor, which I love.
Here you can see some high-res pics of the cases.
Hope you found my very first review helpful! Please press the "Thanks" button! Cheers I'm off...
P.S: This is my 10th post, let's celebrate
The phone + case look rather thick on the photo's. Is the mic on the upper side not covered? There is no picture of that.

Hey!
Thanks for the input! Yeah, sorry I forgot to mention that, actually I didn't even knew that is a mic also!
Returning to the topic, yeah the case also has a cut for the second mic too!
Can you please tell me what is it for?
the second mic
the second mic is use for the noise cancellation feature.
if you want a cheap and cheerfull hybrid case then look for a fake sgp neo hybrid case
if you want a more exspensive hybrid case look for genuine neo hybrid sgp cases
a fake one will cost up to £12 and usually start at about £6
real sgp cases will cost you £18-£22 and no less
iam using a fake neo hybrid at the minute as i broke my genuine one and its a pretty good case for the money , it fits standard battery and 2000mah battery , its lasted a good few months and has kept the phone pristine , it covers the phone well even with the 2000mah battery
they are the best hybrid case ive found and add minimal bulk to the phone , look good , fit nice , protects the phone from drops and if you buy a fake one you can get them for pretty good prices
That 'shimmering' effect looks nasty. It's good that you get a second case though.
i think there are better cases out there and at cheap prices, but in the bright side it does look nice.
