I'd update to 4.0.A.2.368 in yesterday to on Arc, i'm impress with the power consumption performance and Calender interface.
However i used to have the "Power Control" widget on my center homescreen, and now it was gone, i've been found out that someone have the same problem with me, i don't know will SE fix it or not, but at the mean time can i install the "Power Control" widget back(i know the power control on ARC have a different on the theme than the android stock one), can some one help me upload the 2.3.3 "Power Control" Widget or teach me though how to extract it from a old version ROM(i got a 2.3.2 ROM on hand "LT15i_3.0.A.2.181_Global_Customized.ftf")
I'll be pleased if anyone can help, thank you.
If you don't insist on having that exact widget, you should check out widgetsoid on the android market, its a free and highly customizable version of the Power Control widget.
I use the "status switch" instead - I think it's a bit better.
Thank you DemonicHawk and im_iceman on reply.
I'd try "widgetsoid" and "status switch", didn't feel like the same with the Arc custom "Power Control", because i want is a 4 x 1 "Wifi/BT/GPS/Sync/Backlight", "widgetsoid" like other alternative widget can't toggle GPS directly(Instead bring me to Location and Security setting Page), and it's high cost in RAM(12M, Power Control Plus, Free Power Widget were like so too), finally it's custom made alpha icon match the tone of my home.
Hope you guy can help me on this one, thanks.

I'm trying the "SwitchPro" widget at the moment. You can customize 7 buttons
You could use this ... https://market.android.com/details?id=at.abraxas.powerwidget.free&hl=en
But it gives you annoying notification about upgrading.
It is part of Settings.apk. 4.0.A.2.368adds Xloud but this widget is gone and you can not get it back unless you install old Settings.apk and loose Xloud.
This widget is pretty much unneeded since it does the same as single on off widgets.
I have attached old FW Settings.apk. Maybe the widget can be extracted from it, maybe not. Tried to find it in this package, without success.
Auto brightness is auto on (and the brightness widget when you turn on the lowest, you can control the lowest brightness you want )
Let me try on this, thank you so much Raoa.
Well, thats one of the point, and 3 more advantage it had.
1. It's customized in Arc tone
2. It use way less RAM than other alternative like Power Control Plus(eating 12MB+)
3. It directly toggle On/off for the GPS control, unlike other 3rd Party alternative they use to not working or it redirect you to "Location and Security" page, need 2 step to do a 1 step press, and i didn't see any alternative can do this that directly command the On/Off.

Id be glad to sacrifice xLoud to get back the Power Control Widget. Is there any tutorial how to replace this file with the old one (on non-rooted system)?
Also, the single on-off widgets are not able to change the backlight in 3 levels as the power control widte used to

If anyone is interested in replacing their default lockscreen, I recommend Widget Locker. It's on the market for 1.99 but well worth it. I tried them all, LockBot Pro, Lock 2.0, etc, however, Widget Locker is by far the best. Very smooth, no lag, does not drain battery or have any FC's. I've been using it for a couple of days now without any issues. It's up to you whether you want to put widgets on your screen or simply just change the background/lock style. Enjoy.
I also recommend Widget Locker..
Its afaik the fastest one..

I use Fency Widget on Top, then SMS Unread count for SMS and for missing calls...
Maybe a music player widget would be coul.
You can enable/disable interactions with widgets.
It would be very cool, if you would be able to hide widgets, if the are not used or sth (would need an interface for interactions).
Found it on market for 1.99 ??
OH MY!!! this app is so worth the money! so many lock screen options!
BEST!!
Sorry, I thought it was .99. I've updated the original post.
seriously this lock screen is perfect i would of paid more, thankyou OP i was looking for something like this
how often does the Dev update the app?
I wrote an E-Mail to the author, because during phonecalls the launcher was sometimes enabled..
After several days a new update where out with new additional features..
nice...now to replace the stock dailer with something quick and has full screen called ID and im set! anyone know of a good replacement dailer>?
does the drop/pull down music player control widget still function with widget locker?
Awesome! i'll try it out

I released WidgetLocker 1.0 on June 16th and it's on 1.2.2 now (July 27th). The version integer is at 12 but I'm not sure I actually released that many to the public (I don't always bump it for betas but do sometimes).
As it matures more the updates will probably get slower (And less necessary). But it's still young and already the best lockscreen on the market. And I have plenty more ideas and things to implement (And alas some bugs still to fix).
You can enable the notification bar in the widget locker lockscreen..
So the music player should work too.. You can also interact with the widgets if you press an activate button (which you can configure).

im sorry, but the music player in notification bar is diffrent from the music control widget in the default lock screen and enabling the notification bar would be defeating the purpose of the lock screen, i think.
i might try this though to check if the music player control in the default lockscreen will work with widgetlocker
As long as you do not press the "activation" key, the display stays black and you cannot interfact with widgets or the notfication bar..
I dont know the music player from the original widget locker..
Dear Dev, still loving the app, can you on your next release please have an option to play/assign unlocking sounds, that would be even better

For next release you'll get to play an unlocking sound. Release after that you'll get to assign your own. I'm trying to get the next release wrapped up quickly since it includes some Sense-Froyo fixes and that just hit the Desire and EVO.
I didn't find the Widget Locker on Market.

You're right. I see only the free apps!
I'll fix it!
Thanks my friend!
I really like this app too, but the name sucks. Have tried it because i thought i can lock WIDGETS for input. Never thought of it being a lockscreen
So quite misleading i guess...
I didn't find a thread dedicated to customizing your lockscreen, tought it might be a good idea to post a quick how-to in case some people didn't know about this yet. I've gotten a lot of help from this community so I wanted to give something back, even if it's something small
So the Widgetlocker app allows you to modify your lockscreen, you can add app shortcuts, widgets, sliders, actions, change the background and a bunch of other stuff.
1. Download the Widgetlocker app.
2. Open the app, get into the "tool mode" (tutorial has a good explanation on the different modes).
3. Long press on the screen and there you can choose to add a custom slider, application shortcut or widget.
4. For custom sliders chose ICS theme to make it look like stock, then long press and click edit. You can add up to 4 different actions/shortcuts/applications.
Here are some screenshots of mine, nothing fancy, just 2 extra sliders with 4 apps each. Added flashlight and sound toggle to the default slider and weather widget below the clock.

When I was looking at reviews of this app on the Market, I noticed some people complaining on battery drain, have you experienced that, or any other negative side effects of using Widgetlocker?

Haven't experienced any battery drain so far. The app was a bit quirky at first but checking the "Root Helper" option in advanced settings and disabling the default lockscreen helps a lot.
Good info for those who don't know about it, gabster21. As an addition, there's eleventy billion (no, really, there's so many that they had to create a new index on Google Docs) WidgetLocker themes in this thread, with support from the dev here. BTW the dev is the always-awesome and responsive [email protected], who is responsible for Nova Launcher, which even in beta whoops the stock launcher's butt, so if you haven't already, be sure to thank hi as well as gabster21 and zHk3R.

I had a look at those earlier but forgot to add that to the first post.. done it now, thanks!
Another cool feature, useful for advanced users (especially those with root): If you go into WL's settings menu and hold the volume-down button for a couple seconds, you get an additional menu of "experimental" settings. But as the title says, they really are experimental, which means they're unsupported and may not work or even break functionality.
When the ICS slider is at the bottom it expands very small, much smaller than the stock bubble (where the selections sit). But when the slider is moved up from the bottom of the grid it expands all the way, giving a longer travel from the center before a toggle is selected. Does anyone know why this is?
EDIT: I would delete this if I could figure out how. The circle expands less because I had a shortcut on the bottom which would get cut off if it expanded more.
Hello droids
I completely forgot how to customize the maingrid of the app.
In my previous setup i had clock, battery % and (eventually) battery status charging (like gabster21 lockscreen)
I need phosphoreus, but how to config again in this way?
Thanks
Ok for now i solved by an experimental function (hold down volume button in settings menu) but i would know still how i did that customization in the maingrid...

Hi all,
I just wanted to show my first android app I developed. It is a bit similar as notification toggle, but I just developed it to learn java/android.
You can set 3 different settings as notification toggles (wifi, screen rotation, bluetooth), seems unnecessary for cm9/7
You can set any app as a shortcut
always-on-top accessibility service
notification panel folds when shortcut is selected
Please tell me want you think of it, i only tested it on cm10.

True, doesn't mean I know the code to program it (yet)

I have got a freeze with but perhaps, it's because I have been too fast in pushing the toggles... By cons, it will be good that the launching of applications closes the panel of notification in same time.
Nice app bro. It works well on Team NYX RC5. Tested with Wifi and Bluetooth. If you implement GPS toggle, Flashlight and Sound toggle, it will be a very good app.
Keep up the good work.

Nice work mate! I've been looking for this since I had JKay on a Samsung ROM, but I would never go back to Samsung from CM9
Is there any way to hide the blank notification icon in the status bar? I assume this is inherent to the way the shortcuts are loaded as a notification.
Also, how's it going with the auto-close drawer update?
Great
This is great. Thank you.:good:

that's finished already, but need to make some more changes, for making it more memory efficient.
But i thought nobody was really interested
it is not possible to hide it, i might change it to a logo. It is also not possible to make 2g/3g or GPS switch due to android policy (even with root). Only a shortcut is possible to the settings page
For info:
This application works on Jelly Bean for bluetooth (on/off), it works too for Wi-Fi (on/off)!
Think you can add other as standby Toggle for example?
up
updated version:
Notification panel folds after app selection
Accessibility service added for always-on-top
A slightly better layout of the notification shortcuts
the accessibility service should be enabled if you want the notification shortcuts to be always-on-top of the notification panel.
see first post for apk

Since G3 doesn't have built-in flashlight widget, I'm still searching for a fast to come on one. Like S5 - you tap the widget and LED goes on almost instantaneously. Every single one playstore app I've tried is too dam slow (~1 sec lag). And I've tried around dozen.
bump
I agree.
I've tried several myself and none are instantaneous.
I came from the s4 and some of the custom roms had a torch built in and they were instant and with others I used apps from the playstore like spicy flashlight and tiny flashlight and they were also instant.
I must admit the slight delay is not a huge dealbreaker, but it does annoy me.
Let us know if you find something better.

Wierd, I've been using this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devuni.flashlight
And it seems snappy even when being compared to other devices it seems normal, I mainly chose that app because it had the least permissions
^ Y'all haven't tried Assistive Light on S3 or Note 2. It's nearly instant using the widget. None of the playstore apps are anywhere near that.
Because the stock toggles are put in there by the manufacturer whereas the 3rd party apps are generic Android apps and need to access the LED by different means.
wow there are many options.
For me there is always a slight delay when using the widget on all of them and that is probably unavoidable.
When opening the app and turning on light it is instant.
I obviously am looking for the widget to be instant too.
Maybe not possible but I thought I remember tiny flashlight being instant on my s4 but my short term memory sucks.
Did you root your phone? I made holding the up volume button while the screen is off turn on the led with Tweaksbox. It's very convenient and I don't use LG's note app anyways - I much prefer using Google Drive so I have access to that stuff from all my devices.
Ok, LG owners in need of instant response flashlight 1x1 widget start hitting that THANKS button now. I found LG analog of Samsung's Assistive Light minus ugly ass 2x1 widget:

3. Drop a widget on your screen regular way
4. Pop a beer
5. Enjoy instant flashlight
P.S. You can uninstall LG Smart World if you want, but there are some nice fonts there you can grab along with some themes.

Nice find! That is an instant flash. I've been using the qslide torch located here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.csw.q.torch . Its instant also but it takes more steps to activate than a widget because you have to bring It up from qslide. I went ahead and thanked you because it was a great find. You'd probably have many more thanks if you didn't ask for em.

Hello
I just installed the Next Launcher,
Id like to implement a widget similar to the one used be the stock rom; whereby if the Radio is playing, the station is shown on the widget, or music playing etc.
Does anyone know where to get this?
Thanks.
I'd like to know that too, but AFAIK that functionality is integrated in the original launcher and cannot be transfered to other launchers.
About the music player, I resorted using another app that has its own widget, but I lost the knob functions:
left knob push: pause play
right knob rotation: move to previous/next
I have the original stock rom and don't use the xposed framework.
Yeah thanks,
No problem, Ill manage without.
You can use the KGL widgets from Android 4.2.2 versions, sure theyre on the fileserver somehwere.
Thanks typos1 for the suggestion.
I found the widget repository:
http://huifei.fs-fileserver.de/content/apps/KGL Widgets/
Going to test them tomorrow on my Eonon with ADWlauncherEx
Tested tonight...
Media player widget works correctly: start/stop/previous/next/time elapsed/length
However no cover shown, song title limited to a few words only.
Radio widget: works almost correctly, only pause button has no effect.
However no station name shown, station frequency only.
Overall, these 2 widgets are relatively small, and it might be difficult to precisely push their buttons especially when driving.

And they don't change automatically when you change sound source. E.g. in JY launcher default fixed "widget" it changes automatically into the radio / player if you change the app. With separate widget for each app you have to overcrowd screen surface keeping both widgets while only one is effective.
I would like if we could have combined widget...
Yes I agree, the best thing would be something like the Klyde or Joyous Launcher's "widget" thats not actually a widget at all but built into the launcher, made into a proper widget, but without the clock (dont need one as its in the notification panel) as I also want other widgets on my homescreen, but the Klyde/Joyous launchers dont allow other widgets.
Unfortunately I cant really code, so its not something I can do, but when I ve got time I do intend to at least try and decompile one of these launchers and try and remove the time bit (and the stupid car apps bit), maybe even try and figure out how to turn them into proper widgets.
(By the way, when I used the KGL widgets I used one per desktop - dont forget as Android is Linux you get several desktops - so you dont have to overcrowd.)
