My phone says obtaining IP address, and doesn't do anything past that. I've tried on multiple networks, and I've made sure DCHP is on. I've also tried reserving an IP, and that hasn't worked either. I haven't changed anything in a while, it just stopped working this week. I'm running the latest ACS rom. I just flashed another rom and it works now, so it's not a radio or radio firmware issue.

After flashing the latest Radio and ROM from DJDroid, I have been unable to actually connect to my WiFi. I have since then flashed LeeDroid's ROM onto my Desire, and I am still unable to connect to the WiFi of my router. Now I was fine before I flashed this new ROM, so I am unsure what has happened. Does anyone have any suggestions?

EDIT: I have solved the issue. Dont worry
Would you mind sharing how you solved it?
Today I updated my ROM from LeeDroid v2.5 to v3.0.8.2. I wiped my phone first. After this I rebooted, then rebooted again into recovery and installed the recommended radio (32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08). Then I restored my apps+dat with Titanium back up and rebooted again.
It soon became apparent that whilst mobile internet was working fine, WIFI wasn't. While my phone will connect to the router it won't connect to the internet. If I enter the local IP of my router I can browse the settings fine. I tried "forgetting" the network and re-entering security code but this still didn't work.
I restored my v2.5 nandroid backup and the internet worked fine, the radio is still 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08.
So I did a fresh install of the v3.0.8.2 ROM and tried connecting to WIFI again and again the same problem.
So my question is, is this an inherent problem with the ROM, and if so why does no one else seem to have this problem, or is it a setting issue?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Also I tried changing the WIFI channel as suggested in another WIFI thread, and this didn't change anything. Except the WIFI channel obviously.
And I tried a static IP address and that didn't work either.

You try turning off router and putting back on again? I sometime's get that in my network.
Yes I tried turning my router off for a couple of minutes then switching it back on. Didn't change anything.

Did you sort it?
I think you need to wait before the router give your router assign an ip for your phone, btw, some router donot fit all phone model
Yes thanks I managed to sort it today by following this thread
Apparently the fault is inherent to Android 2.3.3 and seems to present itself mainly with Thompson routers. It was a static IP I needed, I'd not entered the details properly the first time.
Thanks for the replies!

Thats good
Hi all. I have searched and nothing pertains to my problem.
I upgraded to a new rom (coredroid 7.1), and even going back a rom version my wireless keeps logging in and then disconnects for no apparent reason. It doesn't even pick up the IP address. Show's 'connecting' then 'disconnected' straight after. The one radio i have used has worked flawlessly.
Any ideas on what is going on?

It can be a kernel issue... some kernels are not compatible with certain routers to get info from them to connect. Try flashing a different kernel and see the results.
Ah I tried a new radio and Kernel but it still does the same thing. Rebooted the router and reinstalled my phone rom as well and nothing changes with the problem.
try flashing a rooted stock rom. if still cannot connect, i hope you're still under warranty and send it back to htc
Ah well after flashing a new radio and kernel then reflashing the rom, it decided to work again after I changed the channel on the router....... Confused yet? I was. So thanks for your help it's now working fine.
Last night I tried flashing cynogenMod 10.1.3 on my stock 4.1.2 Note 2. I followed their instructions, and everything went well but the Wi-Fi never connected to my router. It stayed saying connecting... then network saved. The password was correct. I restored my backed up ROM and on it the Wi-Fi was working. I flashed the cynogenMod Nightlies 10.2 and the same problem was there. I downloaded a stock ROM and flashed with Odion, and the Wi-Fi worked. I flashed Ressurection Remix ROM and on it as well the Wi-Fi didn't work. I tried a few non touchwiz ROMs and all of them the Wi-Fi didn't work, it only works on stock ROMs and TW based ROMs. Is there a way to know more about the cause of this issue? Did other experience such an issue as mine?
I would be greatly obliged if anyone can offer me help.
I have tried many custom roms of every type and build, never had any issue with wifi
perhaps you can try to setup static ip address on the connection instead of DHCP, see if that helps, or try installing something like wifi manager from the store, and use it to connect, see if it gives any more info ?
sorry if this doesn't help, can't think of anything atm
Hi there, my first post.
I've used arco68's guide to root my S4 mini LTE (serranoltexx) and flashed the CyanogenMod 11 M9 snapshot (cm-11-20140804-SNAPSHOT-M9-serranoltexx.zip), but the WiFi isn't working properly. Sometimes it connects (very rarely), but most of the time it just says "Connecting", "Authenticating..." and then goes back to say "Saved, secued with WPA" and the process repeats again.
I've tried flashing the following ROMs, but the WiFi isn't working properly on either of them:
cm-11-20140804-SNAPSHOT-M9-serranoltexx.zip (current)
cm-11-20140708-SNAPSHOT-M8-serranoltexx.zip
cm-11-20140813-NIGHTLY-serranoltexx.zip
Other things I've tried so far:
Using CM File Manager to delete contents of /data/misc/wifi and rebooting, as described here, but it didn't help.
Installed SQLite Debugger, went to Settings Storage > setttings.db > Global, where I wanted to change the value of wifi_display_on to 0 as described here, but it was already set to 0, so no luck here.
Changed the Region Code in WiFi settings (as described here) to United States, then to Europe, but this didn't help either.
Installed the latest nightly update, but still nothing.
Basically, I've tried everything I could find, but the WiFi still doesn't work, and I have no idea why. I don't want to downgrade to CM 10.2, since later when I decide to upgrade to CM 11, I'd need to wipe all the data and make a clean CM11 install. Also, I don't want to flash any other ROM except CM, so telling me to install Paranoid Android or anything else wouldn't help.
If you have any ideas how to solve this, that would be great! Also, feel free to ask for any additional details.
Update: I've just discovered that it connects to open WiFi networks without any problems (though I've only tried it on 2 so far), so probably WPA encryption or my old home router can be the cause of the problem. I can only change my home router to WPA (it doesn't work with WPA2), so I've yet to try it on another router supporting WPA2. If that works, it would solve the whole problem! I'm ashamed to say I haven't thought of this earlier...
Update 2: I just tested it on a WPA2-protected WiFi network and it connects without problems. The most likely conclusion seems that CM11 has some problem with WPA, so for the time being I'll switch to another router with WPA2. Hopefully gets fixed with the next snapshot!
