Is there any 3rd party browser that intergates with the gingerbread download manager? Did the eg22 deodexed browser ever get fixed? Its annoying because I don't know if I can remove it the stock download manager...is it removable?

why not? navigate through the sdcard to the removed apps folder, pick the .apk you want to install and tap (don't long press) it. it should then give you the option to install. make sure you have checked the unknown sources checkbox in applications so it will let you install apks from the sdcard.
Click to install...gives me all the access warnings...finishes installing and displays an error message that says it failed ?

Download rom manager from market.open, flash clock work mod, than go down and flash alternative recovery, witch is amo ra.than reboot into recovery, and do a clean of cache, dalvic.don't do data.

Gotcha...thank you..before I try I noticed something... In astro under details of sprint navigation it shows that the file size is 0...maybe the app is missing? I don't understand why it goes through the whole install if thats the case?

You can't just click on the app to install on mikfroyo. You have to push the app to the system apps folder.
So I want to keep comp kids rom but I need stock browser such as the one in the frozen rom then the rom would be a dream does anyone have a stock browser apk file or a flashable file that would work with ec05 ;-) thanks in advance

You can just pull the browser out of one ROM zip in the system/app folder and put it into the other ROM package and flash.

Try using 7zip to open the ROM package and extract the browser from one and then drag and drop onto other ROM package.

Okay this has never happened before my xda app shortcut no longer works the only way I can open it is in the google search bar? I tried to uninstall and then reinstall but it keeps saying uninstall unsuccessful. I tried deleting with root explorer but when I reboot the app is still there what's goin on haha?

Out of curiosity do you have a themed XDA app? Make sure you click the top right tab in root explorer to make system r/w to delete files.

And what launcher are you using? Sometimes when I update the app go launcher ex stops recognizing my short cuts and I have to put the updated app in its place.

Is it possible to to take that effect and apply this to my own custom wallpaper?

If I'm understanding you correctly you want to open the apk you downloaded from the play store.
Use a root file app like root explorer and go to system/apps. Find the apk and copy it to your sd card. Then transfer it to your computer and use apktool to decompile the apk.
That's one way to do it. There are others but that's one to get you started.
Edit. .. Now I would email the dev of that app to ask permission to use a part of his app to create your own.

You need a File Manager with Root Access (I.e. ES File Explorer or Root Explorer) to remove stock apps from the /system/apps
Or
You can use Titanium Backup to remove /system/apps
Ok thanks man. This isn't my first foray into rooting. I have a HTC incredible, and a Samsung captivate, both rooted and on custom roms. On those it was far simmer to rid the bloat by simply going to the app manager and uninstalling the unwanted apps.

Anyone know where they are hiding the Google Chrome browser .apk? Also what all needs rt be deleted to rid the phone of knox? Or is it tied too far into the system for that?

Chrome is in /system/app and a /data/app.
Go into App manager first then uninstall it then use the File Manager to uninstall it from /system/app
As far as Knox.... I'm not too sure.

Delete the following files to get rid of KNOX, I still think there are few embedded files/processes but this should take care of the application iteself.
