[Q] Arc Unlocked - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good evening everyone!
My arc was previously locked to ThreeUK, got it unlocked tested with different UK sim cards, working fine with other networks. Now i want to flash Generic UK version but i've a question, will it be locked again if i Update/Flash different roms?
Under service menu>sim lock it states as following; (if that matters)
[] Network 5
[] Network subset 5
[] Service provider 5
[] Corporate 5
[] SIM 0
What does these numbers mean anyway?
Thanks.

I'm not too sure what the numbers represent but I'm guessing that it's the number of times a locked state can be changed ??? Or that could be me just talking absolute crap. I'll let someone answer that question for you. Sorry.
Regarding your other question, it's safe to say that you won't be SIM-locked again even if you flash the generic UK firmware.
But you won't be able to try out custom ROMs or kernals because your bootloader cannot be unlocked as of now.

No..........

[] Network 5
[] Network subset 5
[] Service provider 5
[] Corporate 5
[] SIM 0
For all I know that means you have a fully open phone (no locks whatsoever) and if ever there is, you have 5 times of unlocking a specific lock.
Network = unlocked by NCK (network unlock code)
Network subset = unlocked by NSCK (network subset unlock code)
Service provider = unlocked by SPCK (service provider unlock code)
Corporate = unlocked by CCK (company/corporate unlock code)
[] SIM 0 = Indicates phone accepts any SIM.
Since there is no organized reference and hopefully this post helps others, here's another sample:
[X] Network 3
[] Network subset 5
[] Service provider 5
[] Corporate 5
[] SIM 0
The above means there's 3 attempts remaining to enter an NCK to unlock the phone to accept other network. The X means that kind lock is enabled.
[X] Network 0
[] Network subset 5
[] Service provider 5
[] Corporate 5
[] SIM 0
The above means that all attempts were exhausted, and the phone will not accept any NCK whether valid or invalid. In best cases it will only work with the SIM of the network it is originally locked onto, if it will ever work. As far as I read, no solution to reset the counter but only thru cable, but I have yet to find an instruction how to do that.
If anyone knows how to reset it please post.
For the sim-locked bootloader unlocking, its still work in progress nobody knows when will it arrive. It would be a major breakthrough in case, as it means units can be sim-unlocked already w/o buying codes (even if your tries ran out), and fastboot would be enabled therefore enabling custom ROM or kernels in. Everybody's hopeful and waiting.

Anybody out there with a knowledge of unlocking Samsung Omnia locked to T-Mobile UK?
Already tried two companies, but the codes they have provided don't work. I guess the T-Mobile will have to supply the special kind of a code? Any advise will be much appreciated.
OK, T-Mobile UK charge £15, but it will take them 28days to get the codes,..... what the?
Cheers

Have you tried these solutions:
1)Doing a factory reset
2)Update the baseband to 62 or 69
3)Using Wotan service to install new ROMs
1- yes...
2- no, how ? i wont to get full brick, so please, quick install steps , thanx
3- If number 2 failed, im try this one...
edit: so i tried it, baseband -64, but still not workd
edit2- networks works only WDMCA ´= 3G... thats work... but GSM (2G) not... but with 3G i have small signal... I need 2G, but thats says YOUR SIM CARD DOES NOT ALLOW A CONNECTION TO THIS NETWORK ( in other phone works great
some body ? i tried many FW, many basebands, custom kernels etc.. but still have problem:
GSM ( 2G ) - YOUR SIM CARD DOES NOT ALLOW A CONNECTION TO THIS NETWORK
WCDMA ( 3G ) - Works fine
But i need GSM, because i living in village and there small 3G signal
You sure you don't have the R800x? It doesn't support SIM cards.
Sent from my R800x using xda app-developers app
when i check it via IMEI Verification its seems r800i ... and in the settings---about--- r800i
nobody know solution ?
Try a different SIM card.. If that works then its most likely your SIM.
You've said you've tried the SIM in another phone, but try another SIM in the Xperia Play and let us know what results you get..
Also, seeing as it looks like you're rooted/have unlocked bootloader, try flashing other Kernels, ROMs, Basebands and so on.
Also, ensure you are choosing the correct network when manually selecting which network to join in 'Network Operators'. Do you by any chance have a SIM/provider that relies on other networks to function? For example Tesco Mobile doesn't have its own network and instead relies on O2 i think..
I tried Orange SIM and TMobile
Tried many kernels/roms/basebands
Tried manualy connect...
ALWAYS allow me connect only to 3G mode ... but 2G says "you sim not allow to connect...blablabla)
Currently i have DoomKernel v14, STOCK ROM ( with deleted most of blotware, system now consuming only 90MB of RAM )

[Q] [Help] Xperia S hardlock network?

Hi there,
I was decieved buying my xperia S from a french operator which was supposed to be free from network locks. Unfortunately it seems not. I'm currently travelling abroad for a few months and i logically bought a local plan with a new SIM. When i inserted the sim in my xperia s, I was asked for a code. Since i believed my phone was unlocked i'm afraid i entered the wrong pin a few times...
Then i asked the company from which i bought the phone to give me the unlock network code. They did, but the number has no effect. I am still asked for PIN network code when i reboot the phone. After looking it up on the net i found that my phone was probably hardlocked. Here's what i found in my phone menu after typing *#*#7378423#*#* :
[X] Network 0
[ ] Network Subset 0
[ ] Service Provider 0
[ ] Corporate 0
[ ] Sim 0
Where should i go grom there? Is there any chance i can use my phone with a different phone operator? (my phone is still working with my french SIM) Can i still hope to unlock the network?
Thx for your help.
Since your phone is still working with your french sim card, my guess is that the other sim card you bought got locked since you entered the wrong pin number too many times. Getting an unlock network code from the operator doesnt change/remove the sim lock as it only removes the network lock off the phone so that you can use it with other operators/providers.
Try getting a new sim card (from the same operator you bought the other one from) and see if it works.

But the new SIM card I inserted had no PIN code activated. How could i PIN lock my phone ?
Edit: the PIN code i was talking about earlier was the Network PIN code when i inserted the new SIM card. I'm afraid i locked this one up

You need to open developer option. Enable oem unlock and USB debugging.
Start mobile in fastboot mode. And flash unlock file.
