Ive found this discussion happening in forums for other devices after some searching, but was unable to find a means of accomplishing it.
I want to reverse tether my epic to use my windows PC internet connection. I have a bad data signal at work, no wifi available.
How could this be accomplished?
I've seen this question asked in a thread in our forums tsk tsk..... no idea on the status though
I implemented this a little while ago, although I'm not sure anyone else has tried it. It's not perfect, but perhaps it's still useful.

I guess I didn't try the right combination of search phrases or filter out enough of the results to find it. Thanks to Mcasick though I have located the thread.
Now that I already have it I know just what to type into the search box to make it turn up. Reverse look-up???

Try first, there is a lot o topic's about this issue.
But don't search for "do not look here"
but if you rename the topic in this way, everyone goes to look!!

never tried usb, just use bluetooth
If you seriously can't find information on this site using search, then you're probably not capable of using your phone as a bluetooth modem. Finding the information on this site using search is much easier than putting that information into practice.
Good luck.
Anyway:
- connect via USB;
- On Trinity: start "Interent sharing" (or something like that, in italian is "Configurazione Internet"); then choose your phone connection and tap "connect".
BTW: Don't look this answer and search the forum instead.
thanks for your reply treno(though I did not read it and used search )
I found the Internet sharing shortcut but when I activate the connection, activesynth disconnects and the internet is not working in the pc :/
Did I do something wrong?
Btw new title
I know you're all going to get mad and tell me I should search before asking, but I have searched for a while, and cannot find the answer. I saw a few people talking about the tmobile 5.99 internet hack, and I'm interested in how to do it? I just installed 6.1 and have to add all my connection settings, how do I set it up to work?
followed the WM6 configure listed here:
http://www.htcwiki.com/page/The+Dash+FAQ
i did everything it said, and i don't have anything working, not even email. i read somewhere about a .cab file called internetconnectionsetup.cab that sets everything for me, but I can't find that.
Hello All,
First off I'm very sorry if this has been posted before. I have searched for hours and can't seem to find a solution.
I just recently got a Dash. Wifi works great on it at my home through WEP. However, at my university's campus I am unable to connect. My school uses 802.1x PEAP routers, where everyone trying to connect has to input their username, password and domain. I entered in all the information in my Dash but I get a certificate error. A friend of mine who has a HTC Diamond has a program on his phone that will disable that error from happening and he is able to connect to the campus Wifi. Is there a solution to this problem or a program that will allow me to override this message?
Thanks for your time.
i searched around and read many many threads like this...not one has a solution. seems is a windows f**k up yet again.
http://www.jacco2.dds.nl/networking/crtimprt.html
check that out
also, google Funk Software Odyssey and read about that
Thanks a lot for your help. I guess I'll keep looking for a solution. There's got to be a fix out there.

Too bad they are all made for PocketPC.
indeed but i have read some people getting them to work on wm standard...just like many other ppc apps.
ummm i dont no but u sound like u go to utech, ne how, i have dat problem sometimes, but on other ocassions it connects fine, i tink its jus one of those tempermental ting or the network's interfacing wit ur device
First off, I'm going to apologize; because surely doing a proper search would answer my question. But apparently my google/forum fu is weak, because I couldn't turn up anything.
That out of the way - here's the question. I don't have a data plan for my Vogue (running winmo 6.5 / android 1.6). Is there any way to get internet access on my Vogue via usb (or barring that - bluetooth)?
Appreciate any help with this. In a perfect world I'd like a solution for OSX, but I can always steal my wife's win7 lappy when she's not looking
Thanks!
I think I may have solved my own problem. Looks like in Winmo via activesync it's possible (although I've yet to get it going), and with Android it's not possible (yet). Right? And the official name is reverse-tethering.
edit:
It works.

Glad your issues got resolved. Please post in the Q&A thread next time, and refrain from opening new threads unless you are contributing something to the forums (roms, kitchens, apps, skins, etc). Thanks for understanding.
Hello xda community!
I have a strange and serious problem: I can't connect to hidden WiFi's.
I'm with a LG G3 D855 10H (no newer versions available).
At work we use a hidden WiFi without password but with Juniper VPN.
When I type in the network name and save it, it tries one time to connect, then my LG G3 shows "not in range". After a few seconds, the WiFi is on the top again with a very good signal.
When I try to connect again, it shows "not in range" again and so on.
I tried it at home and created a hidden network and it was reproducible.
Anyone else has problem with this?
Many thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards,
Jake

Now that is what you call a 'special' post!
Would you care to explain how it was resolved for the people that have the problem.
My problem still exists, but isn't urgent anymore.
I found out, Android itself have problems (or restrictions?) to hidden WiFi networks.
I also found an app names HiddenSSID Enabler, but it seems it didn't work for me (or G3?).
If someone has a solution it still would be very helpful fo rme and the rest of the community.

I have logs posted in my first post, WIFI DESTROYED TWICE or there abouts.
I've had to resort to DATA and its killing me haha i think i am getting close to fixing it, well i think i may be closer than you two and can one of you kindly take the lead as im reinstalling windows and i haven't gamed in 6 days :|
/system/etc/wifi/WCNSS_qcomcfg.ini
then the problem is complex but i am sure it is something to do with gEnableApProt=1
Offshoot fix, reinstall using googled imei number that doesn't have a flag or some how fix the flag <READ A FEW DAYS BACK>
I think actually the program that stuffed me was Airmon by maxters. It asked me if i was pro and of course, i said yes. Who would simply click no? I know a ninj wouldn't click no. I think there is a manual reinstall to link to it again i find the modem in its own partition having a chill, most likely trojan/backdoor and pwning everything around me.. I had three encrypted vpn backdoors and escalated accounts on my computer I paid the 5$ for the binarys, i think i paid 5$ for the back doors.
Not to sell Airmon out though.. Rooting our phones and accessing countless forums and websites really does leave us rather "xposed" some other cuplrits may be dsploit, ROM manager, linux Deploy/kali, Pamn IP scanner, system app remover pro, busybox pro's (Stephen/JRummy) or CMinstall/accessing the forums and trying to install cynagenmod / twrp recovery. I'm probably going to go with..... Airmon/Linuxdeploy or uninstalltool. But may have just been my IP logged and i hit a booby trap script along the way.
You guys done anything of the sort?
/Thread killller
Neither I understand what you are talking about, nor am I (as not native english speaker) good at "sentence guessing".
I have a rooted phone - of course.
But I'm pretty sure my WiFi is not destroyed...
