No. The SIM card slot is for GSM/UMTS SIM cards only. If you wish to use CDMA, it must be provisioned manually in ePST or over-the-air based on the MEID of the device.

How to install RUIM on PPC6900

Hi everyone,
I just disassembly my HTC xv6900 verizon.Under LCD display,I found space for installation RUIM slot. Can I use sim slot of GSM model instead of it?
After installations just only enable RUIM if available in QPST or CDMA workshop?
Or my opinions are wrong ? Please advise.
Thanks in advance...

I could be mistaken but I believe it's going to require more than that. I don't believe that the Verizon boards have that capability.
Also why would you want to?
Thanks for attention,
Since I'm in Thailand. It's RUIM network.I'd like to add RUIM slot and use it same as china network.
I confirmed both sprint and verizon have space for install RUIM slot same as GSM model.
But I don't know full procedure to enable it.May be some process on mainboard except from just solder.
I ensure about use qpst or cdmaworkshop for enable it.But not clear step on mainboard. Please advise.
Thank very much,
I think you have to alter the radio also http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=4771 this is for the ppc6700 though.
Or try http://www.rimweb.in/
Thanks for all..

That is to remove sim card restriction...
example
your phone provider is Verizon, and you want to use an Airtel sim
When your phone has a network lock, you cannot use airtel directly coz it is locked
When you unlock or openline your phone, you can use whatever sim card or provider you want

I only have one SIM slot in tray. Can I swap it and make my phone DUAL SIM?

I know A70 is dual SIM. However my 705W variant only has a 1 SIM slot. The 2nd SIM slot tray is covered with a plastic. If I switch my SIM tray with a 2 SIM tray will my phone become dual sim?

yes you could try grarak modified lineage OS build which unlocked the 2st sim card slot , but you could have bands related problems.

But even if it's unlocked via software, can it work without hardware modifications? I mean, do single sim models have a second sim reader inside?
You are asking about hardware modification.
Maybe you can get one of those microsd card + simcard combo module from alibaba.
Couple with it modified firmware, and maybe it would be possible
Is is possible to convert samsung A70 single sim to dual Sim SM 705w model?
